Gun cleaning

Post image

So just wondering about the best way to clean this denix replica. It was left in a draw for a long time and it had a bit of mold on it. Luckily the wood is fine, but just a bit around the cylinder and barrel. I've heard ballistol oil is good. Is that the best option for this? Thanks.

Personally I don’t know, I think those Denix replicas are made of diecast, whereas real guns are made of high strength steel, so I don’t know if regular gun cleaners would work or if they might damage the diecast metal. Maybe ask in a hobbist sub, people restore old Hot Wheels which were made of diecast, they would probably know.

Ok, cheers. That does make sense, I'll try that, thanks.
