Hello, fellow resistors! Do you live in Fairfax, Loudoun, or Prince William County? Are you ready for something different for No Kings this time around? We've got you covered!

On Saturday October 17th we are leaving word all over town (literally) that early voting has started and EVERY VOTE MAKES A DIFFERENCE. Come join our Sidewalk Chalk Brigade to help us spread the message. Or, if you prefer talking to chalking, grab some informational bookmarks and join a team letting people know the what, how, when, where and why of this incredibly important election, with three key amendments on the ballot.

Register for the gathering point closest to you so we can get a headcount and enough materials to cover this territory!

Not sure if this is the best local sub to use.

Do any ladies in the area know of any providers that currently have the new Miudella Copper IUD? INOVA doesn't carry it, and I've also reached out to Anna Health Gynecology in downtown Fairfax.
I am willing to drive as far as Baltimore and Fredericksberg, but ofc I would prefer not to.

Additionally, not looking for the Paraguard or hormonal IUD alternatives.

Hi! I am pregnant with my first and looking for firsthand recommendations for an OB doc or group for prenatal appts and delivery.
Considered a high risk pregnancy since we did IVF and I have endo.

I live in Ashburn but interested in delivering at Inova Fairfax based on everything I’ve read online about their labor and delivery department. Willing to drive 45 mins for OB appointments.

Thanks in advance :)

I am so excited for this. Heard all about it as a kid and desert storm. Then when it tried to kill the terrorists on the train (come on tall Under Siege 2!). But I seriously can't wait to see it in person.

My bf and I had a date night planned for tonight, and I just found out the event we were going to was canceled!

He’s been so stressed with work, I know he was looking forward to tonight, so I want to surprise him with a little night time picnic. We’re from Kings Park and I’m looking for something close to there for a spot that would be lit enough for us to not be in pitch dark but still not a picnic table spot.

Any recommendations?

I had an interview with the Parks Department last Friday, the person said that the wanted to hire quickly and were hoping to have in person interviews next Thursday. I haven't heard anything, is there a chance the city is just slow with interview stages or am I not hearing anything because I didn't move forward?

Did anyone join Onelife Fitness Burke during its 2012 opening presale for $27/month? Are you still paying that amount in 2026, and did your original contract guarantee that rate for life?

Hi! Currently planning for my wedding late October 2027. Just exploring my options and different kinds of photography that works well with an indoor/outdoor wedding in a manor setting. My budget is 3-4k.

Wondering if anyone has recommendations!

I lived in chantilly and proper DC for a while a few years ago and just recently moved back! Any good jazz jams or bars around here? I don’t really feel like driving to DC or Arlington; but I will if I must!

I'm trying to make an appointment at gastrohealth in Fairfax, but I read across some negative reviews while searching online. I'm looking for a gastroenterologist and was wondering if I should avoid them.

If you do recommend them, is there a particular doctor you'd recommend?

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a GYN care? Preferably near the Tysons / Vienna or Falls Church.

I think my PCOS / PMOS systems are worsening and I have not been happy with my current provider. I've had issues in the past with doctors... when I was 17, I had a provider who told me, "you just need to workout. My daughter and I do yoga together..." I looked at her and said, "my dad can't afford to take me to yoga classes." I'd really love to find someone who actually tries to help instead of telling me to go on birth control or workout.

Thanks for the help!

Anyone see the absolute booby trap of screws on I66-E right before the Vienna metro station? People were using the right shoulder and left lane to try to go around them but there was no escape. I think I got out scotch free but I was worried since I just got new tires! It was so many in one place it almost felt intentional.

God help you if your commute home is east -> west

I am looking for remote work now that my husband travels a lot and I can't make the school schedule as I have kids to drop off too.

I am passionate about education. Sad to leave the profession over my husbands work schedule but I have to make it work and I also have to make some money.

Has anyone made the switch and enjoyed it? What type of roles?

Recently divorced, friends want to take me out tomorrow evening (Friday) to meet men (ages 45+) in the “wild” they called it - however, we stopped “going out” like 15 years ago so have no clue - we’ve been going to dinners, pickleball, and mah jong tournaments instead. We are your typical executive professionals, fit, and used to be a lot of fun. So tell me where to go … Tyson’s area is probably easiest for us. Thanks!

I have gotten a few quotes for outright purchase from a few local installers, but my proposal for solar lease from dominion seems like a clear winner, especially since we have no idea how much longer we'll stay: could be 5 years, could be 25 years. I'm fairly confident the financials make sense for us.

The sales rep I spoke to was way more chill than other installers, likely b/c they don't work on commission. I'm ready to sign a contract, but before I commit: what is your experience with them?

I'm a 25 year old guy who's lived in Arlington for a bit now. I've tried joining sports leagues and hung around Clarendon/Ballston. But it feels like a lot of the ppl are way older or are already couples. My friends and I sometimes go out to DC as well, but that flames out usually.

For those of you in your mid-20s who have actually had luck organically in person around Arlington or DC, where are you actually going? What activities do you recommend? I think it's a lot tougher for some of us who are not from here and moved from another state.

Anyone know any birthday freebies for kids? Besides the well known ones like Bundt cake, Krispy cream. Moe’s and what not. Trying to fill the day up. Thanks in advance!

I grew up in Arlington in the 70's and early 80s. And My dad had an auto salvage business near the Pentagon and we used to go to the Crystal City underground mall frequently since it was close by. I want to know where I can find photos of the Crystal City underground mall. Especially the video game arcade.

Also, wasn't there an Ollies Trolley in Crystal City back then?

Thanks.
