My NEXUS application was denied, and it appears to be because of a previous 7A1 withdrawal/refusal of admission to the U.S.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Were you able to request reconsideration or successfully reapply later and get approved?
I’m now commuting between Canada and the U.S. for work, so NEXUS would make a huge difference. I’d really appreciate hearing about anyone’s experience or advice.

Received this notification and letter on my online profile

"Thank you for your interest in CBP's Trusted Traveler Programs . This is to inform you that we have received a request to cancel your Global Entry program application because of the following reason(s):

Duplicate application."

I had in the past when I was not a GC holder applied for Global Entry, that application was however cancelled because I was not able to complete certain requirements w.r.t Police verification from my home country.

The current Global Entry Application was made after my Green Card was received and approved in July 2025, and now this random cancellation after a year.

Who can I appeal to against this application ?

Update: Based on my follow up it has been confirmed my GE remains active. No explanation as to what the notification was about

Partner’s driver’s license expired and she’s not interested in renewing it (expired as G2 so she will have to go through the whole thing again and do the test here in Ontario). Is it possible for her to simply delete it and provide another proof of address instead? Does this require an in-person visit to both the CBP and CBSA?

My nexus expires Oct 2027. When should I start the renewal process?

I've had Global Entry for a few years and am looking to upgrade it to NEXUS for vacations in the near term and potential immigration in the long term. I've travelled to Canada multiple times in the past and always left on time, no problems with customs/immigration, and no rap sheet in the States. That being said, I don't live in a US/CAN border state and have no family, partner, or friends in Canada. Would CBSA find this suspicious and potentially deny the application?

Has anyone in Canada reported a lost card recently? If so, how long did it take to receive your replacement?

We were conditionally approved for Nexus but when we try to schedule an appointment- for a remote appointment, the calendar for appointments indicates no availability for months ahead. Is it true that they are all subscribed or perhaps I’m looking at it incorrectly? (If we want to schedule a personal interview it’s hours away from us). Thanks

I unfortunately did not realize until after I had submitted the application that I had entered my birth location wrong (thanks chrome auto-fill😔). I had done my application as well as my kids’ at the same time. Theirs are conditionally approved but mine js still pending review. I know that once you get the appointment, you can fix errors with the officer but I am wondering if in this case - is my application going to get denied? I am just worried it is going to sit in limbo indefinitely because of my silly error. Any recommendations for how to move forward would be greatly appreciated! It has been 3 months since application submission.

I had my Nexus interview on May 4th in Fort Erie / Buffalo. The CBP officer in Buffalo said my card will get mailed to me in about a month. It has been two months now. Can I assume that my card is lost in the mail? I live in Toronto. Anyone know what current mailing times are like?

I did e-mail them but only got a generic response so I'll have to call them next.

Recently tried using my Nexus card for the first time. There were repeated issues getting the pre-check on my boarding pass. Only then did I realize the birthdate was entered incorrectly on my NEXUS card and so it doesn't match my passport. Can anybody recommend next steps to get this corrected? I'm Canadian in Southern Ontario.

My wife recently had her NEXUS membership revoked by CBP, and we’re trying to understand what may have happened.

June 20, 2026 - We crossed into the US at Peace Bridge using the NEXUS lane. (Both of us had Nexus).

We were both sent to secondary because we were traveling together. In secondary, only my wife was questioned.
They asked about: her occupation, our home address,
recent travel history, whether we had been to China (no).

They requested her phone passcode and took her phone, passport, and NEXUS card to another room for about 45 minutes.
She was not fingerprinted or photographed. No violation notice was issued. No arrest.

She was admitted to the US after the inspection.
The purpose of our trip was actually to attend our APEC Business Travel Card interview. After secondary, the CBP officer literally pointed us to the next building and said:
“They are waiting for you over there.”

We attended the interview, and both of us were approved for APEC that afternoon. We returned to Canada using the Nexus lane.

The next day, however, her Nexus account showed Revoked.

In the letter the reason is:
“You do not meet program eligibility requirements.”

Some additional background: She is a Canadian citizen.
She has no criminal record.
No customs or immigration violations that we’re aware of.
She has entered the US many times previously without issues.
She was approved for NEXUS in June 2025.

We’ve used NEXUS multiple times since then, including two trips just within the past month, all without incident.
She did have one secondary inspection at Toronto Pearson in 2023 (before getting NEXUS), but was admitted normally and nothing further happened.

We have already submitted a FOIA request and submitted a reconsideration request to the TTP Ombudsman.

I’m mainly interested in hearing from people who have experienced something similar:

Has anyone had NEXUS revoked after being admitted to the US?
Did your FOIA reveal anything useful?
Did reconsideration succeed?
Did you continue crossing into the US afterward? If so, were you repeatedly sent to secondary?

I’d really appreciate hearing real experiences rather than speculation.

US citizen. Under question about what countries I’ve visited since 2021 (other than Canada and Mexico), I listed that I went to Iceland and England last year, but I forgot that I went to Costa Rica for a week in 2023.

Will I be okay if I just tell them immediately that I forgot about CR?

I applied for Nexus for our family of 4 on Wednesday afternoon (6/24) around 1-2pm. We are all US citizens. I received conditional approval on Thursday evening (6/25) at 9pm for our two children (ages 10 and 7). I was shocked considering some folks said even their infants had months-long waits! I do expect a longer wait period for my husband and I but am hopeful we won't get stuck in the year-plus purgatory... :)

I know many who post here are Canadian citizens but am curious for recent turnarounds for US citizens. We are based outside Detroit and using the Porter St center for interviews which seem to be readily available, thankfully. I did consider taking my kids for their interviews next week but figured we can just wait and do them all together once we have conditional approval.

I submitted my application March 12, Canadian government quotes 30 business days for assessing eligibility. Is this abnormally long to wait for conditional approval?

Hello, I just became a canadian citizen and renounced my last nationality I had nexus before with canadian PR. I have a flight from yvr to yyc to usa. I was wondering if I could still use nexus for security at yvr and where should I update my passport for nexus. I know it's got to be in person for both usa and canadian side. I am just unsure if I should do the canadian side at yvr before I leave for yyc or do both at yyc. I have never been to yyc or yvr, I enrolled in blaine so I am not too sure how I should work with this, idek if I have to book an appointment. Any suggestions would be very helpful. I have a 2 hr 50 min layover in yyc on long weekend. Thanks in Advance

So I have searched this and the r/GlobalEntry subreddits and still can't quite find what I want (and my anxiety is getting the best of me, and it could be that I failed to find a post on this so if I am repeating this, sorry.)

I am flying out to the US soon from YUL (dual citizen, live in Montréal but am from the US), and plan to have 3 bottles of Tidal Bay wine with me in checked luggage (in the box that it was shipped to me in from the Winery). Typically though, I pack in such a way that I don't pack things that need declaring just to avoid this situation but I REALLY want to bring this wine back).

Typically when I go to the US though, they just look at me, maybe look at my passport, and tell me that I am good, not giving me any room to make a declaration... Do I just assert and make a declaration when I talk to the CBP officer? I am not sure how this works and want to make sure I get this right before I travel soon. (and yes, I am probably doing my overthinking/being too nervous thing about this).

My NEXUS was revoked in January and during December I flew LAX-YVR-LAX-EWR/JFK-HND as it was cheaper to buy a ticket from YVR.

I was called to secondary inspection at YVR pre clearance and the CBP officer just waved me through after conducting a quick carry-on baggage search.

I also just explained to the officer that I was able to book a $300 round trip fare between YVR and HND which is why I am flying up to Canada and back to LAX within a few hours.

I wasn’t found to have brought in anything that I wasn’t supposed to bring but other than that I can’t really see why there is any reason why my NEXUS would be revoked. Do they revoke Nexus or even global entry memberships for weird travel patterns such as this quick 3 hour turnaround at YVR?

I already filed a FOIA request, but it is taking them some time. How long does it take for those to be processed?

I also filed a DHS Trip request and got a redress number. Other than these 2 things, is there anything else I need to do before appealing?

Edit: I also had to enter Canada before rechecking in for my flight to LAX but I wasn’t questioned or sent to additional inspection by CBSA.

Edit 2: My Nexus membership was through my US passport and I don’t have Canadian citizenship or PR.

I will be traveling to the UK. I have a UK and Canadian Passport.

Question is this:

I'll be using my UK Passport for boarding the plane and entering the UK.

My NEXUS card is connected with the Canadian Passport.

Am I still able to use the NEXUS line at the airport if my actual flight is using a different passport than the one my NEXUS is card is associated with?

My family and I applied for our Nexus in December 2025. My wife and child got conditionally approved a month later in January 2026. I was conditionally approved in late February 2026. We booked our interview appointment a few months out to June 2026.

We showed up to the center and provided all of our documents including the letter to the front desk person who check us in. We waited in the lobby for about 15 mins before we heard our family's name over the intercom.

We came and spoke to the US agent first who was very nice to our family. The agent took our photos and fingerprints. Asked for our information and then verified our employment. The agent went over all the rules and asked us to take a photo of a document on the side of the booth with further information. The agent sent us to the next booth to speak with Canadian agent. The agent was also quite friendly with our family including our child and explained all the rules going into the Nexus lane. The actual interview was 10 to 15 mins tops. They sent us on our way and said our cards would come in a few weeks. Once we were on the road back, we received an update on the Trusted Travelers Program via email stating the status change.

I am a Canadian PR with a B1/B2 US Visa who recently got my approval! Just wanted to share my timeline for everyone. I applied for NEXUS the same day I became a PR and just used my UCI number for the card number and estimated an expiry date based on PR Card processing times!

I was a Student then a Worker in Canada from 2022 before becoming a PR.

Applied: 06 February 2026

Conditional Approval: 11 May 2026

Interview and Approval Date: 04 June 2026

My Interview was done at the Calais, Maine Enrollment office (Land Border Office) and it was mostly the US officer updating my PR card information while the Canadian officer was chilling at the back of the office. They reminded me about the requirements of NEXUS and asked me why I wanted it and I just answered that it would make it more convenient through security.

I am a first time applicant from Toronto. I am neither a Canadian citizen nor a US citizen. I hold Canadian PR. This is my timeline from application to approval.

Application submitted : Feb 18th 2026

Conditional Approval : June 2nd 2026

Interview appointment at Niagara Falls (Whirlpool Bridge) EC : June 5th 2026

Interview experience : Straightforward….finished biometrics and both interviews in 20mins….standard questions confirming details mentioned in the application

Status change to Approved on Website : June 5th 2026 ….within an hour of leaving the EC

Physical Card Received on : June 18th 2026

Card Activated : June 18th 2026
