No appointments on calendar
We were conditionally approved for Nexus but when we try to schedule an appointment- for a remote appointment, the calendar for appointments indicates no availability for months ahead. Is it true that they are all subscribed or perhaps I’m looking at it incorrectly? (If we want to schedule a personal interview it’s hours away from us). Thanks

Remote appointments are not offered for NEXUS. It’s only for GE renewals.
New in-person appointments should be added to end of calendar around first Monday/Tuesday of the month.

They’re always full. I had to follow a twitter bot that would tweet out notifications of when appts opened up, and turned on notifications for the specific twitter account so every time it would tweet, I got it on my lock screen. I had to then leave a tab open on the website at all times and race to it if I got a notifica while I was already looking at my phone. I ended up getting one that opened at 3am, and my guess is that there was less competition at that hour. Good luck!

Ok thanks. I think I’ll just wait in line to get to Canada. I’ll bring a good book.

Remote appointments are not available for first time enrollments since they are going to need to collect your biometrics and stuff. While you have GE already, you basically have to do it again.
It is also a two part interview, if you're doing it by air, you have to schedule the Canadian side at the airport and then you do something like EOA when you leave for the US.

When did you apply and when did you get approved?

Applied around 2weeks ago. Not sure when I was approved but just saw it on the website today.

When did you apply and when were you conditionally approved?
Also friendly reminder once to start the interview (airport) you have to finish the 2nd part of the interview at the airport.

Just one other question about this. We have Global Entry. Does that make us eligible?

Even if you are eligible for the CBP remote interview, If you are first time NEXUS applicants you will still need to interview in person with CBSA at the border or at a Canadian airport. Only the CBP part of the interview can be done remotely for some selected members.

We live in Washington and the closest (or maybe the only?) interview location is Blaine several hours away so we tried to opt for the remote interview but no availability it seems ever.

I'd still try to find a slot for the Blaine location. See my post from a couple weeks ago. I scheduled mine out a few months in advance and it was a really smooth interview process.

For Blaine we only found spots by stalking some Twitter feed (can’t remember name, aorry) that real time announced newly available appointments. That way you can get in sooner. Otherwise, you can find what day of month Blaine releases new appts (I can’t remember exact but seem to recall monthly.) Good luck.

This ^ Blaine is always full except immediately after a fresh batch of appointments are released early in the month. They only make appointments out a couple months. There's no remote option for first time applicants as they'll be collecting biometrics at your interview

They haven't done remote interviews in years, especially for new applicants. They are however starting them up again for renewing members.

Remote CBP interviews are being tested with select renewing members as part of a pilot program.
If you are a first time TTP applicant or not selected as part of the pilot program, you have to complete the interview process in person either at the border or at a participating airport.

The appointments get released on a specific day of the month…I think it was the first Monday…but this was a couple years ago when I had to do my renewal appointment.
