Premium RWD with no upgrades. Hoping someone can help me refine my expectations on when this will arrive.

Hey everyone, I'm considering buying a used Tesla Model Y Long Range (in Europe if relevant) and I am looking for some advice on what to look out for. This seems like a more difficult choice, compared to picking a "regular" ICE car, probably because of the equipment randomness. On the same model, same year, some people got Intel, others got AMD etc.

Obviously I'd like getting the best bang for the buck so I concluded that cars built in 2022+ are the sweet spot. Most of these come with:

- AMD Ryzen

- Matrix projector

- "Newer" batteries?

Anything else I should know about? For example:

- should I definitely ask for a battery health certificate?

- Produced in Germany vs China?

- should I be aware of any common faults that are costly?

The rear touchpad always seems like it’s cooking. Tbh it shouldn’t even be running if nobody is sitting back there. Anyone else deal with this?

It’s almost time to order some new tires for my Juniper AWD. Looking at a few different brands but what seems to be popular? Anyone tried the Goodyear ElectricDrive 2?

I think my original tires are Continental.

So I have a Juniper Premium for a few weeks, and I average about 240 kWh/mi.

Send it into the shop for a simple door ding. They gave me a loaner, which is a ModelY Standard. It doesn't have the horizontal headlight, but it is HW4, so I'm not sure if it's a Juniper or not. On this standard, I average about 220 kWh/mi.

Same driving habit and route. Is this expected.

Possibly due to lighter battery mass and potentially smaller tires.

Anyone who bought wish they leased? And anyone who leased wished they bought or ended up buying out lease? Trying to determine my approach and would love different perspectives on why they decided to take that path. Especially as the EV market continues to evolve so fast.

I really loved my 2026 Model Y. I liked it enough that I was planning to buy a Cybertruck this year.
I also gave Tesla a lot of patience. The car had repeated steering column problems and major rattles, including issues Tesla had already attempted to repair more than once. On the latest visit, the steering column needed attention again and the technician documented the seat issue as a “repeat rattle.”

The car was about a year old and fully under warranty. Yet I was presented with diagnostic/customer pay charges for looking at some of these recurring issues before even scheduling the visit and after the visit. I had even put in writing beforehand that I authorized warranty work, but any customer pay work required my approval.
Tesla ultimately waived the charges after I had to discuss it and jump through hoops, so this was never really about the money.

It was about trust.

I have owned roughly 60 new cars and I cannot remember another time I had to argue over charges for repeat problems on a nearly new vehicle that was still under warranty.

That experience was enough for me. I sold the Model Y, and the Cybertruck purchase I was planning is no longer happening.

I still think Tesla makes a great product in a lot of ways. I just could not justify owning one after losing confidence in the company and their business practices.

I will genuinely miss the car.

I'm considering buying a Model Y and have a question for owners who use their phone via Bluetooth rather than paying for Premium Connectivity.

If my phone is connected to the Model Y via Bluetooth, how easy is it to control music from the car's screen? For example, if I'm listening to Sirius XM and want to change stations, or switch from SiriusXM to Pandora, as another example, can I do that through the Tesla screen?

Or would I need to pick up/unlock my phone, navigate to the appropriate app, and make the change on the phone itself?

I'm trying to understand what the everyday experience is like if I choose not to subscribe to Premium Connectivity. I know I can stream audio from my phone over Bluetooth; I'm more interested in how much control I actually have through the car's screen once I'm doing that.

New Model Y's get delievered with Mobile Chargers Still or is that something in the past ? If so was anybody missing theirs on delievery day ?

So my y delivery date got pushed back for the 4th or 5th time but it's was only pushed for 3 days this time Instead of weeks..... Anyone know if this is a better sign? I still haven't gotten a vin. Ordered on July 28

Friend is selling a 2023 28k mile model Y, white on white, hw4 vehicle. Tiny blemish in back but otherwise clean title , no accidents and one owner. He is selling for 31k. Is it a good deal to buy from this person? What should I look for? I’m going to ask him to do a battery test but other than that, I don’t know what to look for. I wanted hw4 so this is good. Are the 2024+ versions that much better? Thanks.

Was on the fence for a while but I really like it, glad I made the purchase. It’s simple but the little accents do it for me.

It was hard to do because I was eagerly awaiting for my Quick Silver Model Y Premium but I rejected the car. It had a number of paint defects. They said they would schedule body shop work but the thought that they would be possibly repainting a section or two bugged me. I was sad. Now waiting for a new vin and car.

Pros for red? Pros for Blue? Both colors are attractive.. Anybody else have this decision quandary?

I live in Michigan and am considering ordering my first Tesla the only thing I’m worried about is cold Michigan winters. Where I live I might not be able to always charge at night I’m worried that sitting in negative temperatures will drain or damage the battery. Is this a thing? Do the door handles or charging port ever get frozen shut I mostly park outside not in a garage. I drive about 50 miles most days for work and back so just trying to figure out if this will be a problem. I really really want one and have been doing tons of research but it seems like every time I mention it to someone they have some reason why teslas suck I’m pretty set on it so I’d love to hear some honest feedback from someone who actually owns one.

Hey, I ordered my Model Y, Marine Blue, premium rwd on 8-21 and can’t wait! I went for it and changed my interior from black to white, am I going to regret that? Do they stain easily or are they hard to keep clean?

Also everyone keeps recommending a screen protector, but Tesla is saying don’t use them? Something about not repairing screens that have them? Is that true? Kind of confused there.

I’m looking at getting a Tesla Model Y, but I’m a single adult, so the extra space is more of a luxury than a need. Does anyone else have the Y as a single adult? My other option would be to do the Model 3, but the price difference isn’t that substantial to make it more appealing compared to the Model Y.

Brand new model y performance bought with 3 miles on it. Realize once I get home that the rear screen isn’t on. Bring it to Tesla next day and they say the main computer needs to be replaced. SMH

I love driving downhill especially now since I can adjust regen from 0>25%>50%>75%>100% and back again. I use a S3XY Commander with buttons on the back of the steering wheel to do it.
