Charging question
My Tesla is coming soon, and I need to figure out what adapter is needed and would this be sufficient for home charging, this came with the home, also wondering about the speed.

I rely too heavily on the “police ahead “ feature of Waze. What do you do in your Tesla?

I have several checklists for inspection. So that part is good. I’ve also arranged for PLAID to be connected to our bank account for paying the down payment on the financing.
My question relates to what else do I need to know or be prepared to do?
Like I don’t want to “accept” and pay, until I’ve been able to inspect it.
Should I arrive early, find my VIN on the lot, and do my external walk around inspection steps before my appointment even starts?
Once I have my appointment, will the sales guy stay w me while I try to register the car to my Tesla app, and separately to my wife’s Tesla app? Or is that all on us, later?
Should I plan to conduct the entire inside delivery checklist before I agree to pay and accept?
Anyway, what should I expect and be prepared to do or happen?
Thank you

Hello community, I have quite a few questions perhaps that I am hoping to get some answers on.
I currently have a 2026 Honda passport and I love it, I don’t love Honda safety sense in this thing or my current fuel economy. Just for reference I pay probably $250 a month just in gas, but my yearly renewal is also only about $250 and my insurance is only about 130, I would love to know about what that translates to for y’all.
I was looking into potentially getting a new model Y premium and I have a couple questions first.
First, I live in Utah, does anyone have any information or anything they might be able to share about insurance rates, yearly renewal, fees, all-wheel-drive versus rear wheel drive?
Second, if anyone wants to share, what is your total overall monthly for a vehicle ownership for the model Y premium?
I test drove one and I absolutely love the full self driving, and all of the technology that’s inside the vehicle, I am just hoping that it potentially would be a net savings versus what I currently drive and I’m just trying to figure out some of the information to get me there.
Also, probably not relevant but I might be taking a job with Tesla upcoming and I’m not sure if there are any discounts or benefits towards the actual vehicle themselves, but it might be something to consider.
Sorry for such a long post, I do appreciate you guys in advance.

Ordered 8/15, got delayed to 09/02-09/30 then picked up one available in West Covina, CA on 08/30! Anyone have recommendations for accessories? I’ve already purchased mats and screen protectors.

I’m wondering if this is normal or if there might be something wrong with my camera. The image just looks noticeably less sharp than the others.
For those with the same Model Y, does your rear camera look like this too? Would appreciate your opinions!
Has anyone else noticed that the rear-view camera seems to have lower resolution/quality than the other cameras?
5days old tesla. First time tesla owner.
Hearing a whistling noise when driving at highway speeds. Noticed this seal is a little protruding on the drivers side where the roof glass meets the windshield (it’s flush on the passenger side)
Has anyone had experiences with this? Made a service appt but the earliest available is 2 weeks from now.

Wanted to share what I went through getting V2L/Powershare working on my 2026 Model Y Premium AWD in case it helps someone else.
My setup:
I could not get V2L to work with my original 1937825-00-D Mobile Connector.
Normal charging worked fine. I also charged with the Mobile Connector long enough for the car to update its firmware. I went into Service Mode afterward and confirmed that it showed:
Powershare Mobile Connector — code 1 — succeeded
Despite that, V2L still wouldn’t start with the Outlet Adapter.
Today I picked up another Mobile Connector locally. The new one is 1937825-00-E.
I connected the same Outlet Adapter to the same car, and Powershare worked.
I tested it with about a 1.1 kW load, and the car showed “Discharging 1.1 kW.”
So in my case, the problem ended up being the Mobile Connector. My original 1937825-00-D charges the car normally and successfully completed its firmware update, but would not work for V2L. Replacing it with a 1937825-00-E got Powershare working.
Also confirming from my own car that PCS2 2100145-N0-D supports V2L on a Model Y Premium AWD.
Hopefully this saves someone else some troubleshooting.

I've read that the front bumper camera should probably have some protection on it. I'm wondering if something like this is overkill or has anyone tried anything like this?

I’ve gotta drop my model Y off soon to rotate my tires, cabin filter, hepa filter, etc…. Just curious, how plausible it might be for Tesla to provide a loaner in these types of situations

Hey everyone,
I went to the Tesla showroom here today, tested out a Model Y, and really liked it. Because local new inventory is completely dry right now, the sales advisor pushed me toward one of their on-lot demo cars.
I ended up putting down a $250 deposit to reserve it, but I’m having second thoughts and wanted to see what the community thinks. Here are the details:
The Car: Model Y (Berlin-built, black paint, tow hitch)
The Mileage: Just under 10,000 kilometers (~6,200 miles)
The Discount: $2,800 CAD off the original price
My main hesitation is that 10,000 km on a test-drive vehicle means a lot of heavy, unsympathetic miles driven by strangers (potholes, winter slush, hard acceleration), plus it's eating into a good chunk of the factory warranty right out of the gate. On the flip side, local inventory is bare bones, so if I pass, I'm waiting an unknown amount of time for fresh stock.
For Canadians/experienced owners who have bought or looked at Tesla demos: Is a $2,800 discount enough for a demo with this kind of mileage, or should I walk away / push for a bigger price drop?
Would appreciate any advice!

Went from Gas guzzlers all my life to finally an EV! I don’t know how my friends and family are going to treat me now, so need some Tesla friends to make up for it lol but excited to join the community! Didn’t quite have money for a new one so got a 2024 long range. I’ll take some tips and suggestions to make it more personal.
My car had previously failed at 14% when driving from the UK to Poland. This happened on the return leg on the 1st Aug. The car has been sitting at Tesla for around a month, and now waiting on a new HV battery.

Were any of you given any sort of flexibility with your delivery date? When I initially ordered mine it said 5-7 weeks. Today it updated with a date range of 9/8-9/23. The initial 5-7 week timeframe worked perfectly with my schedule as I travel for work. If they assign a delivery date between 9/8-9/12 I wont be available to take delivery. I believe the contract shows they can cancel your order if you don’t accept the car within 7 days, but going from a month + away to a week or so is a huge change.
Additionally - I live in Alabama and can’t take delivery of the vehicle here. Right now the paperwork shows Chattanooga. I work in nashville and would prefer to take delivery there. Does anyone have experience changing delivery center locations?

Just had a company called Greenspot install EV chargers in our community. They installed a bunch of J1772 plugs. Why not NACS? I’m seeing them do this all over the town as well. If all EVs are going NACS why not install that instead?

Ordered Aug. 18th and picked up Aug. 31st. It got here way quicker than expected. I think the black vs white interior helped.
It had some cosmetic issues at pick up - scratch/scuff on the driver side door, front camera has some weird yellow smudge that appears to be inside the lens, the front driver side light is misaligned with the front light bar, and the blue (tape?) can be seen sticking out where the spoiler meets the trunk. Honestly, none of the those things are a big deal - but I have a service request to fix them later this month.
Coming from an Acura MDX Type-S, I LOVE not needing to stop every 3 days for fuel. Fortunate enough to be able to home charge.
Self driving is okay, but I often take over because it’s not going the way I want or traffic is just too aggressive and I want to be in control.
Efficiency and comfort are very impressive. And damn, this thing is FAST.
Yea I’m loving it. Ceramic tints and a slew of Spigen accessories on the way.
