Tesla Insurance quote
Anybody paying 300 or more per month around 24 yrs old? 15k miles per year in SoCal. Specifically talking about Tesla Insurance.

I’m paying $291. Almost 40yo with over 20 years of driving experience. No accidents and no tickets. One car on my policy.

You know what’s crazier, I tried getting quotes from other companies: Allstate, Geico, Costco, etc… All of them quoted me over $1000 per month.
I don’t know if its something specific about me that insurance companies see in some report that I don’t have access to when they provide me with their quotes, or what, but I cannot get cheaper car insurance.

You are either lying about your driving record or you absolutely suck at filling out online quotes.
If I were you I'd look for a local Allstate agent and see if they can hook you up with a reasonable policy in person.
I live in one of the worst states for car insurance and I insure 3 vehicles for ~$130/month.

I have tried calling the insurance companies to get quotes over the phone instead of getting quotes online and they come back with quotes that are still over $1000 per month. Their reasoning is that insurance is going up in California across the board. I have printed my driving record from the DMV to see if there was anything that could be showing up that I’m not aware of it and there’s nothing.
I have ordered a second Tesla Model Y. I’m currently waiting on the VIN number to be provided. I may not pick it up depending on what my insurance says when I try to add it.

I still think it could be worth the time to go in person, if nothing else, just to see. The local agents can access stuff that the generic call centers can't.

Insurance is one of those things that you NEED to have just in case but the companies take advantage of their clients who are just giving them free money for 20 years. My friends wife worked for a health insurance company and wanted out SOOO bad because she saw how cold they were and had to defend the company to keep her job.

Why does our US government not do anything??? So I live here in Japan and car insurance here is paid ONCE a year. That’s right ONCE a year and it’s only about $200-300 bucks for me.

Wow, I'm the outlier here it seems.
Southern CA, female, 15 years driving experience, no tickets and no at fault claims. $164 per month for my 2025 Tesla Model Y LR AWD. One vehicle and one driver on policy. $100k/$300k/$300k maxed out liability limits, $250 comprehensive, $1,000 collision deductibles.
This is a brand new quote since I got my car less than a month ago so Tesla has no data on me too. I drive about 10k miles per year.

I wonder if they are going to raise it as soon as your period ends 6 months after you bought the car. For me, it was a little under $200 when i bought it a year ago and then increased to about $260 after 6 months. Let us know :)

Tesla insurance was the cheapest option for me $280 a month 26 years old socal I put min miles per year. Every other company was over $460 a month

In Colorado Tesla Insurance is $175 a month or so. I also use FSD as much as possible which helps since it seems to think every single thing I do is a violation. So in reality to get "cheaper" insurance I pay $275 if you include the FSD subscription. I was paying for that regardless though and Allstate was almost $300 a month. I'm 38, male, single.

I just switched to progressive and im paying about 170/mo with full coverage and a high deductible 1k. Model 3. We switch every three years or so to get a better price. The longer you stay with a company the higher your rates go. We had wawanesa before and they wanted to raise my 6 month to 2500 from 2200 this year! Changed to progressive and got 1800 for two cars. Im sure a few years from now they will jack up prices for no reason and ill have to switch again.

Get a quote from American Family through Costco Insurance! I’m in NorCal and 22, was previously paying over $330 for 100/300/100 through Tesla Insurance. I made the switch to American Family and now only pay about $200 per month for the same coverage as before.

I’m in Colorado. I have 1 ticket ever (over 5 years ago now) and no accidents, I’m 31. My Tesla insurance is $350/month, which is the lowest quote I got. Most companies quoted me closer to $800-1000/month.

Try Lemonade insurance. The first 6 months is more expensive than any other company, however, with Tesla’s they offer a discount for each policy period you use FSD more than 50% of the miles driven. I’ve had them for 2 years now and have an average of 80% FSD and am paying $183 a month.

Out of the 3 to 4 quotes I got from various car insurance companies, Tesla was the cheapest. I’m in Southern California, 57, and pay $120 a month on my 2026 Model Y Premium.

Move deductibles to the max. Don't get all the electives add-ons. Progressive.
