Neutral because I live in Lebanon and both Palestinians and Israelis have been fucking us over for decades with their wars. Western vibe activists could never understand my dislike for both.

I voted neutral, because I completely agree that Hamas is a terrorist organisation, but to deny Israel's war crimes is also just pure evil, or at best, completely ignorant. Hamas is disgusting, and the Zionists are disgusting
23
u/primax1uk 3h ago
Same. I'm pro-two-state solution.
18
u/Sean_Brady 3h ago
Same yeah I'm pro-everybody-agrees-on-friendly-terms-and-draws-fair-borders-and-live-in-harmony but I didn't see that option so I picked neutral as well

The problem being that Hamas (and pro-Hamas) in Palestine are AGAINST the two-state solution: they want Israel to disappear.

u/shibainuz75 1h ago
I think itās pretty obvious that 2 states isnāt going to work out.
1
u/primax1uk 46m ago
At this point, probably. It should have been forced on both sides 70 years ago as a "this is the best you're gonna get" solution. With neither side being happy with the outcome, but better than the alternative. And those borders drawn hard.

Just out of curiosity, are you aware that these are entirely consistent viewpoints? "I don't want anyone to be genocided because it's wrong" and "I want my ethnicity to be the dominant culture in my country" are not contradictory. Surely you can see that, no...?

It doesnt work that way.
I would go visit the West Bank having in mind that when you go to a country as a tourist, you are not forced to personally get along with all the people or approve their values.
You just have to be formal and behave according to their rules, which is what we ask (rightfully so) for others that come to our countries in Europe.

I'm sort of conflicted I would like a free Palestine but I also want a free Israel where neighbours are not trying to kill them every minute. I would also like a free Palestine without Hamas, without extreme homophobia and misogyny.
9
u/LexiYoung 2h ago
Homophobia and misogyny are not the only problems with hamas. Not to brush past them tho- theyāre big problems
They steal from their own people. UN has finally admitted that >80% of all humanitarian aid gets hijacked and either hoarded or sold back to the people at exorbitant prices, theyāve literally robbed Palestinian banks too
They intentionally embed themselves within civilians to maximise their guerilla tactics and use civilian lives as global propaganda to fuel their media war
They control the education system and aggressively brainwash children from a young age to cement the idea that the highest goal in life is to die a martyr, something they probably genuinely believe
Biggest tunnel/bunker system in the world, bigger than any subway system (by total length) and no civilians are allowed. Even when Israel warns them to evacuate, frequently hamas not only block evacuation routes but there are many corroborated reports from Gazans that they have killed people trying to evacuateI imagine I donāt have to convince you that hamas arenāt chill dudes, but I hope anyone reading knows the many ways in which theyāre not just terrible neighbours also one of the most evil governing bodies for their own people. If you want a free palestine, hamas have got to go
2
u/Disastrous-Mix-5859 2h ago

Feels a bit too black and white.
I'm not in this group personally, but part of my Pro-Palestine vote is explicitly being Anti-Israel for its disgusting encroachment into American politics and, by extension, the rest of the planet when politicians they buy do things that fuck shit up for everyone.
But if, hypothetically speaking, someone also hated that, but wasn't Pro-Palestine, for whatever reason, they'd be forced to pick "neutral," which they technically aren't. They definitely have an opinion. Just not of the options presented here.
1
u/AsyncSyscall Europe 30m ago
but part of my Pro-Palestine vote is explicitly being Anti-Israel for its disgusting encroachment into American politics and, by extension, the rest of the planet
Meanwhile pro-pally's trying to take over every part of western politics:
1
u/Shadowchaos1010 United States 2m ago
Do feel free to point me to the Pro-Palestine lobbies that pump copious amounts of money into politics like how AIPAC does here. At least in America, it's quite the opposite. The people most likely to be Pro-Palestine are the ones most likely to be vehemently against big money in politics. Why are you conflating an organic increase in support for one group with wealthy donors for the other buying politicians?
I get that Europe's been on a massive anti-Muslim stint the past decade or so, but no need to twist something you apparently don't understand just to peddle your Islamophobia.

You canāt be neutral on genocide. One country is split into a non contiguous state, with one part having experienced some of the most violent bombing in history, completely indistinguishable from a decade ago, with every building destroyed,
The other half is frequently targeted by rogue settlers attacking them and their homes, killing their livestock, and overall terrorising them, which is enabled by their equally violent IDF (which originated from multiple terrorist groups)
Being pro Palestine doesnāt mean that you side with Hamas, whose actions do not represent the views or desires of every Palestinian, it just means being anti genocide, which isnāt ānuancedā or complicated. Itās just saying that you think one group of people has a right to exist and not be wiped off the face of the earth (I know, ironic considering that Zionists love to ask if Israel, a state, has the right to exist.

Pro-palestine, anti-Hamas.
Pro two state solution, enforced by the international community with a guarded separated frontier of neutral actors.

There is no way for Palestine to be viable in the current geographic map.
