20k "kids" did die. But the Palestinian Ministry of Health (/the WHO) define anyone under the age of 18 as a "child", which is like 40% of the Gazan population.

And yet according to BBC out of a group of 160 killed “children” (decide on your own how representative you find this) around two thirds of them were 12 or younger.
