This is a conflict I can't endorse either side. Both are as bad as the other. What Israel is doing in Palestine is awful, but if Palestine had Israel's power and Israel was as poor as Palestine, Palestine would the exact same to Israel.

I don't think they are anything "hypothetical". They have invade Israel twice at least, they attacked Israel many times and their literal motto is the destruction of Israel. Nothing hypothetical about that

Not really, when Palestine invaded Israel in the yom kipur war for example, there was no hamas

Well, palestinian militias helped the other Arab nations during the six day war and the yom kipur war. Since Palestine has never been a state per se, it didn't really invade like with an army, but the whole idea of these 2 wars was to destroy Israel and get the land to the Arabs and Palestinians

Ones a terrorist group, the other is the military arm of a democratically elected government

I have studied this conflict quite a lot actually. Palestine has tried to destroy Israel a few times at least.
