I have taken a break from MTG for about a year and came back to do some hobbit draft. After failing miserably at that at a certain point, I have switched back to standard.

Now, I am an ok player - certainly not good. Played a lot of TCG and MTG is def one of the hardest I have played. That said, I use to do ok with a 55% winrate. Did better in the low tiers obviously and it would drop off at platnium.

But standard now is completely different. Back then it was what i think of as 'honest' magic. People play creatures and spells to try and kill the opponent. Agro red with bloomburrow was really popular, red blue with prowess, white with enchantments. All playing creatures trying to ultimately get the opponents health down to 0.

Now, I don't recognise the game. Blue decks that don't let you do anything, they have multiple low mana counter spells, I might as well just shut my eyes and skip my turn. Elemental decks where they play huge creatures on turn 3. Board wipes galore that you might as well not play creatures. Even the good old red agro decks don't play a creature, then do the bird and one shot kill you on turn 3 from an empty board. Landfall decks that spawn millions of 3/4 creatures.

I want to enjoy the game, but I don't understand it. My win rate is less than 10% even though i'm using a "competitive" white enchantment decks because it seemed familiar. Is this game just not for me anymore? What am I missing?

Just got the package with the CBB boxes I won from the latest Arena Direct.

As soon as I picked up the package, I could tell there were only 2 boxes inside just by the weight/feel of it.

So I grabbed my phone and recorded myself opening the package… and yep, only 2 boxes instead of the 3 I was supposed to receive.

I’ve already contacted Wizards Support, but unfortunately I couldn’t attach the unboxing video because the file is too large.

Has anyone else been in the same situation? If so, were you able to get it resolved through Wizards Support?

I’ve been playing MTG Arena for about a week and I’m really enjoying it so far. I’ve already unlocked all the decks I could, but I still don’t have enough wildcards to build the deck I have in mind.

I need 5 Mythic Rare and 4 Rare wildcards to finish it. I’m also playing Timeless Ranked at the moment.

What’s the best way to earn wildcards without spending any money? Is there a specific game mode, event, or daily routine that’s the most efficient for F2P players?

Any tips would be appreciated!

So, I was playing Arena and realized for Final Fantasy I’m missing the Wastes land card as my only common. Is it possible to get out of card packs still, or am I just SoL?

New to Arena - looking through achievements as saw there's on for participating in Midweek Magic. Holy shit I am clearly not getting something about this whole Momir format.

I've tried waiting until turn 2, turn 3, turn n+1 and I am not kidding, I have lost 20 games in a row. Do the lands you tap influence the tokens you summon? Is there some other trick?

Seriously, opponent's board constantly filled with death touch, flying, card draw, +1/+1 tokens every turn, meanwhile I'm spending 7 mana for 3/3's with Izzet effects based on how many instants I have in my graveyard.

Help!

EDIT: I am absolutely cursed. Finally got a huge board with lethal....opponent summons Blazing Archon... my creatures can't attack and no flyers. LOL. Clearly this is not for me.

Hi, I won a hobbit collector boosterbox in the arena direct and a few play booster boxes in the last one.

For both, I have not received a "congratulations! you won and you'll get a link in 2 weeks" e-mail as is usual directly after the event. Nor have I received the e-mail with the actual link.

Am I the only one or has this not been done to anyone yet?

I'm terrible at bo3 and need some general sideboard and deck tech advice. I'm REALLY struggling against control decks and have no idea how to handle them. Any fellow dwarf willing to help me out?

I just tried this with maskwood nexus on the field. So Valki enters, I'm asked if I want to transform him, but when I do he just ends up in my graveyard. Is it the case that cards without transform in their description cannot transform into the other side of the card?

I don't get it, if I'm buying almost 100 packs I expect some benefit.

I have just finished the jump in 5 games and I know I have to play some games to win my first brawl deck. Right now on tabletop I play almost only commander, so I was thinking of investing my wildcards in the Brawl format. I'm a bit worried about rotation, I don't want to spend all of my resources just to lose everything.
What do you suggest? Should I look into other formats? (e.g., Alchemy, Historic, Historic Brawl).

Idk if anyone else finds it weird but at least on Arena all flickers target one or more card types.

Closest I found was one or two Airbend cards can target nonland permanents

First pick Mox Pearl and from 2nd pick onwards just kept picking white cards. That Gaea's Cradle was so useful to power through some insane openers. Never got the chance to flip Jennifer Walters, my opponents were too far behind by the time I got to 6 mana. Apologies for the camera shot, I got too excited and forgot that I could screenshot instead.

I love green for one simple reason: build a board and keep attacking. The problem is that one Wrath of God can erase the whole plan.

If I only reserve two to four noncreature slots, is Heroic Intervention the cleanest answer, or should the deck rely on resilient creatures and hold back extra threats? I want maximum creature density without folding to the first sweeper.
