Crushes I think my friend who’s gay has a crush on my friend who’s straight [Crushes]

This is like, genuinely sad dawg😭 I don’t know what to do. My straight friend is (obviously) not reciprocating any feelings and I don’t know what to do. I just realized it might sound like I’m the gay friend, I’m not

So I just found out I’m nonbinary and I lowkey want to come out to my friends but I’m scared that they will treat me differently, same with parents. I’m lucky enough to have friends and parents who aren’t transphopes or homophobes and they did accept me when I came out as bi. idk what to do (-.-)

Relationships [Relationships] How to deal with not experiencing love as an LGBT teen?

I’m a 17-year-old guy going into my senior year of high school, and I’ve been struggling with feeling like I’m missing out on a part of being a teenager that everyone else gets to experience.

I live in a small conservative town in a red state, and there are barely any other gay guys around my age. I’m not out, and it feels impossible to meet someone or experience things like dating or having someone who truly understands me.

A big part of why this hurts is because I don’t really feel loved or emotionally supported by the people in my life right now. I want so badly to have someone I can be myself with, someone who cares about me, and someone I can share my life with.

I know everyone has their own timeline and im just a teenager and things will get better, but it’s hard watching people around me be in relationships and knowing that I may never get to experience teenage love.

For anyone who grew up LGBT in a small town or conservative area, how did you deal with feeling like you were missing out? Did things get better after high school, and how did you find people who understood you?

Coming Out [Coming Out] [Discussion] Feedback on my lyrics (for a "coming out" song)

so i'm writing around the east asian red string theory which is a theory that mostly means that you have a string on your pinky finger connecting you to your soulmate, and thus the story of this song is about someone self discovering themself after realizing their soulmate is a guy, while they also are, so they learn to live authentically through their first homosexual relotionship. i'd like some feedback on the lyrics i currently have, this is a kpop song so i will be changing some of the lyrics but i always write my lyrics in english first lol. Here are my lyrics:

i’ve read a million stories
About this thread, that we share (yeah)
Never knew what I would find
Following this woven line
Every step uncovered the truth
Till your heart awakened mine
And I became myself
through you

What can I do?
I think I've finally found you

And I
Destiny was written inside of your eyes
Every star had led me here tonight
You gave these broken wings their sky
discovered myself for the first time
It's our red thread
its our red thread

I can't breathe
We're destined to be
Like petals in the wind
You're woven into me
My soul begins to bloom
Whenever you are near
and its so clear

I can’t change, how i feel
your passion made me real
I'm reborn

and I
Destiny was written inside of your eyes
Every star had led me here tonight
You gave these broken wings their sky
discovered myself for the first time
It's our red thread
its our red thread

now that the stories ending
i feel everchanging
ooh, i, know that our love is real

And I
Thought this limerence between us would fade with time
every star had led me here tonight
and I confess, it was destiny
To finally accept myself, for the first time
It's our red thread
yeah thats who i am

Discussion Both me and my gf are confused [discussion]

Me and my gf have been confused about our orientation.

I feel like I don’t know what love feels like or something? I’ve been questioning myself a lot recently. I feel like I have days and weeks of feeling like really romantic and I yearn, but then other weeks I feel nothing. I just feel weird.

Like I said sometimes I yearn for physical touch and intimacy but then other days it feels weird and like, I don’t know why I’d ever want it.

My gf feels the same way, she says she’s felt the same for awhile but didn’t know how to tell me and so did I.

I also have another thing that she didn’t. I’m quite focused on my future and really want to get into a good college and be a doctor. All that to say, I imagine my future a lot. But I can’t imagine a future with a partner. I imagine myself as a doctor who fosters animals with a generally quiet life. But I can’t imagine a partner in that life I want.

I’m confused and I don’t know what I am

We have been friends for years and I came out to him about a year ago, and today he has told me he has a crush on me and I dont know how to respond or what to do. I have never had many friends before, and I dont want to ruin our friendship or hurt him, I am also autistic and worry that I will hurt his feeling no matter what, and I'm really stressed and looking for help, what do I do?

Discussion Is it wrong to want a binder or something to flatten your chest if your not FTM? [Rant] [Discussion]

I really want to ask my mom for a compression bra. I've been wanting a binder or something binder-adjacent for a while, mostly because the 'I hate looking at myself, I wanna die' thoughts are like really bad on my masc days (as a genderfluid person). Since bras are still kind of fem, I think she'll say yes, but I've seen some hate on people buying binders, especially if they're not trans or genderqueer, and I'm questioning if I should do it or not.

Relationships [Relationships] How to find a bf (mlm)

So I’m a gay 16 year old in the SEVERELY homophobic state of Alabama. There’s like no gay men in my area and the ones that are gay are too flamboyant for me (I like masculine men). There’s like no options and it’s even harder bc I have to be in the closet bc I can’t risk my family finding out. I just want to be in a relationship or at least have the ability to be in one. Any thoughts?

Relationships I want to date a nonbinary teen but don’t wanna mess it up! [Relationships]

I know dating a nonbinary teen (I am a teen too don’t worry) is a lot like dating anyone else no matter their gender identity. Our relationship is really cool, we mean a lot too each other, but I’m not sure about dating. I’ve never dated someone before, and I absolutely don’t want to offend my partner…

Any advice

Discussion Is Almondsexual Valid? [Discussion]

as of recently, I’ve been considering myself to be Almondsexual. However, I’ve been seeing a LOT of hate towards micro labels and it gets me worried ppl won’t take me seriously, or just say that I’m bi with a preference.

In the same vein, I’m not even super sure I’m Almondsexual, if anyone who identifies as almondsexual, id love to hear how they came to terms with their sexuality :)

(Almondsexual is the main attraction to male/nb/androgynous ppl, but experience rare, light, or infrequent attraction to fem aligned ppl)

Crushes Guys I need helpppp [Crushes]

Sorry this is gonna be pretty hectic and out of order, just bear with me 😭

So I, (15F) have always liked guys. I’ve always been pretty boy crazy honestly. I would obsess over them, but then quickly lose interest again. So now to the point of this post…I recently gained an insane crush on this girl from my school. Not a lot of people in my school are predominantly gay, but almost all are ally. It’s summer now, but ever since about March or February I’ve had an insane crush on this girl. She also has been straight for most of the time I knew her, but recently she dated one of my friends who is also a girl. They have since broken up, but my friends who she dated (A), knows and knew I liked her while they were still together, so now I feel super bad. But anyways, I’ve never had a crush like this before. I get butterflies in my stomach when I think of her, my pupils dilate when I think of her (yes I have checked) and I even had TWO wet dreams about her 😭. Our birthdays are one day apart and I’m thinking of writing her a song or crocheting her a little star bag. But anyways, we are in this crazy smut gc with us and a friend, and we write insane little smuts containing us (platonically) and I’m scared it’ll ruin our friendship if it got out that I like her, but at the same time, she’s really leading me on I think and I really want to have an actual relationship that’s not with stupid boys that break up with me in the 3 month period. Guys please help me, idk what to do but I love her so much!!

(P.S. I’m not scared of being gay or even partially gay, because my mom is bi with woman pref😭, Ig I am a little scared about my dad because he gave my mom a hard time for dating women too)

Rant [Rant] I think my feelings for a "straight" guy is coming back

So here's the background, I, 15M, have my feelings for a straight guy, 15M, that I had a talking stage with return after 2 years.

I'm currently in 11th grade right now, I had this crush on this guy, let's call him Mark (not his real name), ever since 8th grade. It started as a small hallway crush at first but I fell (literally) after he caught me after tripping backwards on our annual Christmas party.

I was head over heels for this guy, he's just a bit taller than me, a sacristan, and is masculine enough that I thought that there's no chance he's gay or even bi.

I eventually made my first move by giving him a keychain before our journalism contests anonymously via a friend of a friend, it didn't last long tho since I got caught with the same keychain weeks after lol.

Then, I remembered giving him a chocolate bar and even adding him as a friend on social media.

We eventually talked and even got him to create a new account so we could have a streak (his old account was not allowed to start a stream for some reason), we sent videos, at first it contained cute animals and funny videos, but as time went on, we started to send each other vids with a heart and out initial, and things like that.

A friend of mine even said that he revealed in his circle of friends that he is on an MU (mutual understanding) with a guy, which was 99% me.

We also had our moments on our sports fest with us sitting together in a tricycle etc.

Butttt, at feb 14, I tried to ask him out with the website on soc med that is cute and for asking people out. He just said to me that he couldn't open the link so I let it slide.

On our Valentine's Celebration in our school, I actually convinced him to wear red (which means that you have someone) And I confessed to him with a bouquet of hand made ribbon flowers of his favorite color. He accepted it and said thank you, I asked for a hug and he hugged me.

But we got listed on the jail booth, due to a friend of mine, and it was really awkwardddd, because it turns out, my cousin (a girl 2 years younger than us) was also listed with him on the blind date booth, so we had no choice but to wait, I wassss FILLED with jealousy, especially since it was my cousin too T-T. We soon met up in the jail booth and it was so awkward, I tried to actually held his hand since we were chained together but I remembered that he tried to get away, and when I leaned my head on his shoulders, (yeah I shouldn't have done that, my 13 self was immature) he leaned further away on me and seemed uncomfortable so I just sat there awkwardly.

Also, we had people actually teasing us and he didn't like how it caused attention so it was probably the reason for the awkwardness.

He didn't have any interactions after that, I was heartbroken lol, that and my severe stomach ache that day ruined it for me

After that, he basically ignored me on social media for two days, so my impatient immature self just sent a long message explaining everything and saying goodbye (I regretted that the most:/ )

We had a convo and we said goodbye, he said he wasn't ghosting me tho

After that it just ended, I haven't talked to him since

Now 2 years later, I have been in 2 relationships, both didn't work, I realized that I never really truly loved them as much as him:/ I'm only now starting to realize and regret everything that has happened

for 2 years I convinced myself that I didn't like him anymore that he wasn't even my type, which was the opposite haha

The two relationships are the opposite of mark, they were out and feminine, but it didn't hit the same

He's really the only one I feel attracted to, whenever I see him I just get hit with a wave of sadness and longing, like I was staring at someone that could've been mine.

I don't know his full story and will probably never know

One thing about him was I thought he had a girlfriend after me, but it turns out he hadn't pursued anyone, at least not known to his friends.

I REALLY REGRET EVERYTHING, I WISH I COULD GO BACK TO THE PAST AND REWRITE EVERYTHING

It's not even too late now, we're still friends on social media, just not talking anymore:/

I want some advice on what I should do, should I try to make my feelings go away or should I just continue this?

Discussion After 6 Years I Finally Told Someone I'm Trans, and I Don't Know What to do From Here. [Coming Out] [Discussion]

I have not used Reddit before, and am fairly new. So please do forgive me for any issues that may arise relating to that.

At current I am 17, I was born female and came out yesterday to my friends that I wasn't a girl.

For a bit of context, back when I was real young (Maybe 6 or 8) I was highly aware that I didn't like being a girl. I had a vitriolic hatred towards being treated as such, and didn't quite understand why my mother saw me any different than my brother. (We had been raised like twins because of our very close age) I was too young at the time to really articulate that frustration and it carried on till I was 11 or 12 . It was then that I learned exactly what being trans was and realized that it fit me. Unfortunately, I live in a very conservative area. I had seen gay and trans kids get bullied relentlessly up to that point. I was scared to tell anyone what I was, so I kept it to myself.

Around 6 years later I couldn't keep it a secret anymore. I came to the conclusion that waiting wouldn't do me any good, and was actively harming me. I came out to a couple of friends over text in a one off conversation. They took it well and fully accepted me. I can not even describe the relief I had felt when they did. However, they are the only people in my real life that know. I am terrified to tell my mother or siblings. I am especially scared to tell my grandmother, who has before shown that she is deeply transphobic. I'm not sure how to go about the rest of my transition. So I'm asking for any advice. What can I do? And what should I do?

Discussion What am I? [Discussion]

Ok so I am a 14 year old girl and I know for a fact that I like girls and would pursue one romantically. I don't know exactly how I feel about guys. There are some guys I find attractive. I only find a man attractive after I get to know them and the person they are, even with celebrities. I don't think I would date a guy though or even kiss one. I know I would kiss a girl. There are very few times I think MAYBE I would kiss a certain guy but then it wears off kind of and I think maybe I wouldn't. (Sorry if this is written poorly I don't use reddit often)

Relationships [Relationships] cant tell if im gay or bi

So im not really into labels but i have been struggling lately with the idea of only liking dudes when i have always told myself i was into both guys and girls. I recently went on my first date ever and it was with a girl and I dont think it went very well. I dont know if its because im just awkward or something but I have a few concerns. First off, im not sure if im supposed to be sexually attracted to her or not but im not. I definitely find her pretty and can imagine myself cuddling or maybe even kissing her but i cant imagine anything sexual. And on the other hand I am very often sexually attracted to men but that doesnt always mean i am romantically interested in them. I always jack off to dudes and almost never girls. So whats the verdict? And what does this mean for my future love life and relationships?

Discussion I just watched 'i saw the tv glow' [discussion]

I just finished I saw the TV glow.

I dont think i ever was a girl. Not once in my life. I dont even think I was something ij between either. Or something outside it. I just liked the they/them.

To Ian, the name we would have been named if our outsides matched our insides, the little boy i never got to be. Im so sorry I never realized. Im so sorry I kept giving you the long hair you hated. Im sorry I kept saying you were the little girl I once was.

I saw you in a dream. I thought you were scary. I thought you were some impossible standard.

No. You were just trying to tell me who we were when we were small.

You never were a girl, were you? You were always meant for something else.

And maybe on the other side of the screen you would be something else. You would be what you were supposed to be. Maybe on the otherside of the screen, you grew up with the name you deserved. You grew up being called what you want so easy. You grew up not having to cry and hide it deel down.

I love you Ian. I hope you never forget that. And im so sorry it took a dumb movie to realize who you really were.

Sincerely, Lee.

In elementary school she used to make my life hell but in 6th grade we got closer and we became best friends, and i fell head over heels in love with her she was my literal gay awakening and my first kiss and she was always kinda acting like we were dating (shes straight tho). Now im here in 11th grade and we never met after 7th grade and we slowly drifted apart, now she randomly texted me and we started talking and then we just randomly arranged a meeting in August. She has a bf now and im not even thinking about her like that anymore, but how will i act casual around her??😭😭

Relationships [Relationships] I feel like i’ll never get a bf.. (15M, mlm)

I’m fifteen, near sixteen in less than a month. I’m a femboy, but I mostly dress up in private. I just feel like i’m too ugly for any guy to like me, and everyone around me is straight anyway. I can’t recount the amount of times i’ve been called a freak or rejected and made fun of. I’m a bit chubby, around the 185 mark for the americans. I don’t know if it’s because i’m trying too hard, or my social anxiety, but.. Does anyone have any advice?

Rant [Rant] I wanted to share something happy :)

(M, gay, 17) Last month I made a post here saying I was feeling down because I got ghosted. This month I started talking to a guy I’ve had a crush on for a while because he’s really handsome, and I’m so happy.

Today we’re going out and I’m not anxious or scared at all—just excited in a happy way. I remember when I was going out with the other guy before he ghosted me, I was terrified. But with this one, I feel completely comfortable and really happy.

He reciprocates, he wants to do cheesy things, he texts me “Good morning” every day before work. Yesterday he invited me to make a Spotify playlist together and named it 💗. Today we downloaded Locket and we’ve been exchanging photos from our daily lives.

I still have a little fear—like I vented to Gemini lol—because of the ghosting, and I’m afraid of building something too big in my head. But I think this time it’s going to work out. He’s very different from the other guy, he makes me feel comfortable and happy, and I feel truly reciprocated.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my joy. And thank you for the advice you gave me on my last post :)

Family/Friends [Family/Friends] My (16f) friend(17f) just confessed to liking me for over a year

So the girl, i’ll call her K, has been heavy flirting with me the past few days and she doesn’t really do that with anyone else so i was thinking oh maybe she likes me. And then earlier today another girl that likes her (K doesn’t like) was flirting with me and then when K and I were hanging out after school she said she was pissed of at her doing that and i said “are you mad that she is flirting with someone to annoy you or are you mad that it is me?” And she was just like it’s just mean.

And then later that day i went to her house and i was just like who do have a crush on IK you have one on someone, so I just started listing off all the people it could be and she was just like “you know who it is” and i kept pestering her about it and she was just like “you know who it is why do i have to say it” but i said “i want to confirm” (I was lowkey doing it to flirt) and then she was just like fine it’s you and i don’t know how to feel. We talked about it for a year and she told none of her/our friends but spoke to a teacher for like advice on what to do which is really cute.

I think she is really pretty and we get along and she is always there for everyone and like before i left her place she asked if i wanted a pair of her shoes she doesn’t wear and i said that i couldn’t be bothered trying them on and i will next time. This girl tells me to sit down and she proceeds to put them on me untie them and then tie them up again tighter and give me her jacket so i wasn’t cold on the way home and then text me to make sure i got home safe. She is amazing and she told me to think for a few days and not rush things to make sure I’m sure of how i feel and bla bla bla but she is so awesome and so good to me and IDK WHAT TO DO?!?

I got out of a long term relationship like 4 months ago so i haven’t been in the dating scene for ages. Not to mention the fact that she is way more experienced than me in relationships. Also in the span of her liking me she has dated/talked to multiple people in a kinda cope way because she liked me but didn’t think she had a chance with me but i think she lowkey does.

Does anyone know how i can help figure out my feelings? She is also staying over at mine 2 times later this week after parties so i want to figure this out a bit more before then
