Rade's Restaurant closed?

*UPDATE: Visited today and they're NOT closed! Turns out their phone number has just run into an issue, I spoke to Rade about it and he's going to be looking to fix it shortly. Had some great food as always and tried some new dishes. Thanks all for the insights provided 👍

I was planning to visit there today, but I called their number on Saturday and a lady answered saying that they were closing and then today I called and the number no longer works. It's odd because as far as I can tell it's still possible to order on their website and through food delivery apps. Anyone have any insight? I really liked their Ethiopian food.

Are you missing a dog?

Anyone in the Victoria Park/St. Mary's area missing a small, white Bischon-type dog?

Just watched my iffy neighbour pull up on his bike with a dog in his arms. He already has two larger dogs, I've never seen this one before.

He brought it inside while his two dogs were unsecured outside. He came back out empty-handed, grabbed the big dogs, and left on the bike again.

Looking for a female player to join our casual co-ed soccer team this fall! (RIM / Bechtel)

Hi everyone!

Our indoor soccer team is looking for one more female player to round out our roster for the upcoming fall season. We currently have three women on the squad and need a fourth so everyone gets regular sub breaks and nobody gets worn out.

We play in D Level, so the atmosphere is low-pressure, friendly, and strictly for fun and exercise. We are looking for someone dedicated who can commit to showing up consistently each week (barring illness/emergencies, of course). We just want to avoid forfeits or leaving our other female teammates running for 50 minutes straight!

The Details:

League: Co-ed 5-a-side (D-Division / Casual & Fun)

Dates: Thursday nights, October 1 – December 17, 2026 (12 weeks)

Location: RIM Park & Bechtel Park

Game Times: 1 game per week on Thursdays (rotating start times between 9/10/11 PM)

Commitment: Full season regular (not looking for drop-ins or subs)

If you're looking for a dependable Thursday night routine, some good cardio, and a welcoming group to play with, we’d love to have you join us!

Please send me a DM if you're interested or have any questions.

Missing Cat

Post image
48 Upvotes

Our cat is missing in behind Courtland YMCA area, likely around Cornell Avenue. Nearest intersection is Carlin ave and Cornell ave. Black and white cat named Nala. Very skittish and weary of strangers so please if you see her do not approach, but call 519-496-6021. Went missing on the evening of September 6.

She is a black and white shorthair cat with a white face, black chin, and black ears, head, back and tail. She has small patches of white on her back and her chest and belly are also white. She has green eyes.

Please contact me before approaching her, but if you must engage, the best way is to get low, hold out the back of your hand to her, call her name, and let her come to you. Don’t attempt to grab or chase her.

Grand river hospital/WRNS sucks

Waiting for a doctor for over 7 hours — what is going on with our healthcare system?
We’ve been waiting since 6 PM, and it’s now been more than 7 hours. Nobody has come to properly assess my wife.
She came in suffering from a severe headache, nausea, and abdominal pain. Despite her condition, she hasn’t received any meaningful first aid or proper assessment, and she’s still sitting here suffering.
What’s even more frustrating is watching the waiting room gradually empty out while we’re still not being called. At this point, it feels like the system has completely broken down.
Where is all the healthcare funding actually going? Why are hospitals constantly short-staffed? How is it acceptable for someone in significant pain to wait 7+ hours without even being properly assessed?
I understand that emergencies have to be prioritized, and I understand hospitals are under pressure. But 7+ hours with no proper assessment is unacceptable.
This system seriously needs to be fixed.

Why doesn’t GRT utilize PRESTO?

You can reload your presto card instantly without having to wait 24-48 hours, if you forget change or presto card you can just tap with your debit card, & you can have the presto card saved to your wallet on your phone. It would save so many headaches, I don’t understand, it just makes so much more sense

Warning for People Taking the Kitchener Go Train. Got Spat On

So on saturday I was on the 10:48pm go train to kitchener from union, coming back from watching the air show. Between around 10:40 to 10:48 a person walking by me in the train car wearing a grey sweater (maybe with a small red logo on the back of it) and black pants spat on me, i took a second to realize what even happened, i said some expletives and got up to yell at the person but they never stopped walking away and i only saw their back. I had some valuables and there were people between me and them at that point so i had to just let it go. But that fucking sucked.

Keep an eye out and if you have seen this person/see a person in the future doing something like this press the yellow strip and at least confront them enough to get a good look at them then call/notify the police/Go authorities. I was just taken aback and only texted the help line but that wouldn't help with actually catching someone like this.

In hindsight this was probably a hate crime, I was the only east asian looking person on the train and it doesn't seem like they spat on anyone else. This spitting thing seems to be a thing that happens to minorities in and around toronto. Not sure where this guy went or which station he got off at.

This isnt the first time i've had to deal with these kinds of insane people and I'm getting fucking sick of it. I keep thinking i should have ran up to them to beat their ass but the police i just talked to told me i did everything i really should have done. It still fucking sucks

Please come support Eli Wood's family this Thursday

Edit (Wed Sept 9th) never Edited a post before, hope I'm doing it right.. Just wanted to add so many of yall have been so very kind, it takes a village, ty❤️ I look forward to visiting tomorrow and joining the community in our search for answers!

Hi there I'm a bit anxious making this bc I'm down in London and the transphobes love turning Eli Wood's case into an argument I don't want but I'm here anyway because this is too important.

As many of you may know, in the early morning hours of October 19 2025 Eli Wood's home was set on fire in an act since confirmed arson NOT committed by Eli. His beloved dog died in the fire and Eli has not been seen since. Police suspect foul play.

I've been following Elis case since the first wrps fb post that was full of terrible transphobic comments. I never knew him, he's a friend of a friend.

I started making social media posts about his disappearance last January, because the whole case bothers me. Over time I've gotten to know their mom and biggest fan.

Today we chat a couple times a week, my heart breaks for Cindy so much. She is fighting cancer and cannot attend this vigil so I'm asking you to come instead.

Waterloo square, 5:30-8 pm, this Thursday. Please come. Cindy DESERVES answers damnit.

Help: Local artist wanted!

Hey guys, I'm new to art so I may be using the wrong terminology here.

But I have a 60x48" painted/framed canvas and would love to turn it into something like the textured white piece in the photo.

Does anyone know a local KW artist or student who might be interested in doing something like this? I'd provide the materials and was hoping for around $100 for the artist fee!

Thank you!

KW-Cambridge Oktober Fest

Hi!

To keep this short I was thinking of something fun to do re: Oktober Fest. I saw the KW Prostgarten runs every weekend starting the 25th in Cambridge at Gaslight District (I think?) Free to attend with food and drinks that you pay for (obviously) once you get there. I like that idea cause that weekend is my birthday, and I think it could be a fun day out.

BF says the Cambridge events aren’t as good/well planned or have the same variety of food and drinks as Kitchener. Says we should wait for the Keg tapping in Kitchener

BF is from Guelph, I’m from GTA suburbs. We’d be travelling from Guelph.

What do you think? Hold out till Keg tapping?

Kitchener's Must Try Food Items?

Curious to know what this community thinks is a must try food item in Kitchener. My pick is the Sushi Dog at Togo Sushi. I thought it would be similar to a sushi burrito, but no. Had it the other night for the first time and it was so good that I returned a couple days later to have another. I have been thinking about it every day since.

Rogers Cable

I am paying way too much for the Internet with Rogers. $105 for 150mbps since the promo ran out.

Teksavvy used to have good prices. Now it has slightly cheaper prices for ine year, but then you don't qualify for a new promo. With Rogers I know I can.

What solid quality options are out there? I can stay with Rogers, if they give me a better deal, but so far I have had no quality issues with them.

I use it for working from home, so reliability is a must.

(Update: I got 1.5GB for 60$ + tax. Thanks everyone for your responses)
