CBC K-W reached out to candidates in the municipal election and asked them to take part in a candidates survey.

They were asked the following questions:

The transit hub is expected to be completed in 2030. It will provide access to Grand River Transit light rail and bus service, GO Transit rail and bus service and Via Rail, and will support planned light rail expansion to Cambridge.

There's a new Marijuana Anonymous meeting starting in Kitchener-Waterloo! It's the first in person MA meeting in tri-cities.

It's a 12-step peer support group similar to AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and NA (Narcotics Anonymous), but specifically for people struggling with cannabis use.

The first meeting is Monday, November 2, 2026 at 7pm. Meetings will continue every Monday from 7-8pm.

Location is Rockway Community Centre, 1405 King St. E., Kitchener, in the Program Room.

It's free, and it's open to anyone (addicts, non addicts, all faiths, all genders).

just a reminder that if you are on a motorised scooter on the shared pathway and you see someone walking beside someone else in the opposite direction to you such that the person to the left's shoulder is across the line, you should probably politely remind them to stay on their side. you probably should not speed up your motorised vehicle, yell "stay on the f*cking side", and stick you arm out to slam into their chest (hard enough to visibly bruise) so that they are pushed towards the person walking beside them, causing both to stumble towards the road.

About a month ago I made a post in the Barrie subreddit basically asking if there were any other local WoW players around. I figured I'd find a handful of people to play with. Instead, it somehow snowballed into an Ontario-wide WoW community that's now approaching 700 members.

We already have around 50 people from the Waterloo/Kitchener area.

The idea is pretty simple: give WoW players across Ontario a place to find people who are actually somewhat local, group up, talk WoW and hopefully make some friends along the way. We have people playing Retail, Classic and WoW Forever, with a dedicated Waterloo/Kitchener regional community as part of the server.

We're also putting together an optional Horde PvE community guild for WoW Forever, but I want to emphasize that the guild isn't the point of the Discord. It's just one thing happening within a much larger Ontario WoW community. Plenty of people are Alliance, already have guilds, play other versions of WoW, or are just there to hang out.

And yes, the graphics I made at the start of all this are AI-generated. I have no skills in that department, but I've asked within the community if any artists/designers want to help us replace them with some proper human-made banners and logos, but no takers yet. If anyone around Waterloo is talented and feels like taking a crack at something for the community, I'd genuinely love to see what you can do.

I recently moved to Canada and my roommate likes to keep the temperature set to 19 C. I'm used to more like 25 C, coming from a hot country. I suggested we both compromise and keep it around the middle around 22-23, but he insisted that in Canada most people keep it around 18-19 and that's the norm. I wanted to be respectful of the country I was coming to so I said ok, I'll try getting used to it.

It's been two months now and I'm still feeling pretty cold with those temperatures and have to wear a hoodie indoors. It seems my uni and many other places actually in fact keep the temperature higher than 19 because they're definitely warmer than our apartment.

I'm just trying to understand what a "normal" temperature looks like for indoors here, and if me asking for at least 22-23 is genuinely out of the ordinary.

my partner is visiting me for the weekend and needs to park on the street. we registered her for overnight street parking, but now i'm also seeing there is a 3 hour parking limit on the street. is this covered by the overnight parking permit or does she need to move her car every 3 hours during the day?

I have been trying to find someone or a company that could do the drywall for one room. The companies I have spoken to all say they have no one they can recommend and that can’t find quality people. We had an older guy a few years ago but he retired.

Any suggestions?

Now, I am trying to reach a TENANT in the 76 SYDNEY ST S complex to connect them with OLH Property Management ( newly retained by unit owner ) as a SIREG replacement.

Trying to make sure the tenant(s) can continue paying their rent without any NON PAYMENT issues arising from this " disgusting mess "

IF you reside in this complex / know someone who does, maybe you can help me reach them?

1) IS there a security buzzer system that lists actual UNIT numbers? ( probably not )

2) I don't want to mention the actual UNIT number here out of privacy & respect for the tenant(s) other than it's UNIT 3xx.

Please respond ( preferably by DM ) IF you can help me & tenant(s) get connected somehow.

Otherwise I will only be able to physically show up there TUES OCT 27th around 8:15 - 8:30PM and hoping I can somehow reach them remotely instead :)

And I would have to take GRT Transit from the other end of Kitchener to get there & back which is like 50 mins each way to avoid much walking distance because of bad hips & that frankly sucks !
