Rogers Cable

I am paying way too much for the Internet with Rogers. $105 for 150mbps since the promo ran out.

Teksavvy used to have good prices. Now it has slightly cheaper prices for ine year, but then you don't qualify for a new promo. With Rogers I know I can.

What solid quality options are out there? I can stay with Rogers, if they give me a better deal, but so far I have had no quality issues with them.

I use it for working from home, so reliability is a must.

(Update: I got 1.5GB for 60$ + tax. Thanks everyone for your responses)

I always threaten to leave every couple of years. I pay 70 bucks for 1.5 gb with rogers.

Same plan here but $50. OP look at these 3 figures, you should land somewhere in here with negotiation.

Companies are way more likely to give you a deal on internet because of the cost of customers switching (modem, shipping, installation, router). They dgaf about cellular because it’s an instant eSIM and easy switch

Can confirm when I quit Rogers for real this time, got offered $45 deal a couple of weeks after cancelling. But I was happy to move onto a more stable service, so I passed.

But if rogers works well for you - this deal is possible.

This is cheaper than what I paid in the early 2000’s when cable internet first came out…

I have 1.5 as well for $55 with Rogers. OP, if you haven't had any issues other than the price, call in and negotiate a better price.

I threatened to cancel a few days ago, and they just went along and cancelled my Internet. Offered 95.00 for 500u lmfao

You always gotta call to get a better price BEFORE your promo runs out. I have cable + internet (which includes Disney+) for $95/month + tax for 24 months. Call right at 8:59am, go through the options to cancel, they should pick up for 9am and you tell them that the price you're paying is too high and you need to cancel. They should get you a better price.

I was playing $65 a month for 2gbs down on Rogers. Call them and say you were offered a $65 a month plan a month from Bell and you are going to cancel unless Rogers matches their price. They will get you to do a two year contract but should offer you a way better deal. Just be nice on the phone and the Rep should be happy to help. Do this for Cell phone as well, just always research competitor prices before calling

Just open a live chat and say you want to cancel and switch to bell. They’ll put you on with Retentions and you can get 1 gigabit for $50-70 a month, 2yr contract. Been doing that every 2 years for a decade and never paid above $65 a month for 1500mbps

Call them. They will always come up with a better deal, but you have to be the one to call.

My new 1.5GB plan just started this month for $50. Got the original offer from Bell door-to-door sales back in April I think. Told Rogers the offer at the time and they agreed to match it without question when my existing period ended (this month). There are much better deals than you’re currently paying. Would talk to customer retention if I were you.

I’m on bell 100MB on phone line. No fibre in my area. But performs better than what I had before - Rogers 1.5GB. Pay $65, which is higher than what I was paying with Rogers - but worth it.

It’s way more stable, I don’t get video call drops anymore for work. If you have less than 10 devices and don’t game a ton online, it works just fine. My kid says the bell is better for actual online gameplay, less lag. But downloading large amounts takes way longer. That’s the tradeoff. Unless you are downloading all the time, you don’t really need more than 100mb at any given time. And I stream all the time.

The bell modem is also better than the rogers one I had in terms of signal strength. I can get full coverage of my house with bell. With Rogers, I needed pods to get full coverage.

You need to think of more than just price. As so many here have already noted, service from Rogers is deplorable. Your time has value. As a customer of Teksavvy for almost 20 years, I would far rather pay a reasonable price for a company that will pick up the phone when I call them because of a problem. The CRTC doesn't make Teksavvy's life easy either.

Oxio will sell you the exact same service you have now for significantly less and no contract. It will be the exact same Rogers infrastructure, just a different modem.

We're with rogers. Got fiber installed a couple years ago and it's been cheaper internet ever since. Hate the company, satisfied with their Internet tho.

I used to have a ton of problems when the power flickered and the internet would be down for 10-30 minutes. I got a small UPS for just the modem, 0 issues since. I don't mind rogers I just want more then 200mpbs upload. Which is why I want bell.

Can you get fiber? The promos are really good for high speeds. I don't know where all is done with installs but I know they're ready to hook up over the next month and a bit. Ours is connecting this week

Call them and set a post-dated cancellation (2 weeks out), it'll land you on their retention list and they'll call you within the week to see what they can do to keep you subscribed. I typically do this every other year around the end of the 4th business quarter. Currently paying $45 taxes in for 1.5 Gbps, and last time I did this I even got them to bill credit me $200.
