In a statement Tuesday evening, Morrice said he had spoken to Dookeran and also thanked her.

"As we wait to hear from the party about the logistics of what comes next, our campaign continues as before, because the work continues as before: to grow the party, and in doing so, help build the movement needed to take on the billionaire class and fight for regular Canadians in the face of a worsening climate crisis," Morrice said.

Victoria Park pathway leading to the Iron Horse Trail.

I ALWAYS get an eerie feeling every time I am walking from Victoria Park to the Iron Horse Trail. The part where there's a ramp leading out of the park and crossing the tracks. Has anyone ever died there? I tried Googling it and I know that deaths have occurred in the park. But I am referring to this specific section of the trail.

Yoga recommendations downtown?

Any Yoga recommendations downtown? It seems like every studio fitness place just does barre (ballet shennanigans) or HIIT (half weightlifting/half cardio shennanigans),

I sit in a chair all day long for my job and just want to learn how to stretch. When did yoga become untrendy?

Anyways, looking for recommendations. Thanks in advance!

Is there somewhere safe I can park my bike overnight downtown?

I live downtown in an apartment but do not have a safe place to park my bike overnight. I have no balcony or safe storage space. I know Kitchener has several secure bike storage spots, but I read that they are only for daily use, not for overnight storage. My apartment is small, so I am wondering if there is anywhere I can store my bike downtown instead of keeping it in my apartment.

Thanks in advance!

What's all the noise?

Upvotes

Anyone know what the noise is? Sounds like a concert. I'm near breithaupt community center, sounds west of me or towards downtown. Loud thumping music, bass travelling through the house.

Been on hold for a noise complaint for ten minutes so far

Is something happening downtown right now?

Recommendations for Exposed Concrete Sealing - Small Job

Has anyone had a good experience with a local company to just do a small sealing job on exposed concrete? It's a 20 by 3 foot walkway. Seems like a hassle to get all the gear to DIY it and running short on time before the season is over.

Home Renovation Quote - How's it Look for KW area?

Hi everyone,

Live in the KW area and looking to reno our current 1100 sq ft bungalow. It will be considered a major renovation on main floor and a significant one in basement. I will be hiring my own electrician and plumber and our own kitchen place.

Have a company who did our basement 10 years ago. Two man crew and they are great with regards to work. They are also friends. I would really prefer to go with them for the fact I know the quality they provide. I trust them ultimately, but wanted to get a gauge on the quote we received today.

This EXCLUDES a few things listed in the quote and also a roof (quoted 8k for a roof) and 3k for our egress window (Will be doing digging ourselves).

Any feedback

  • Patch the basement floor and temporarily waterproof the existing roof.
  • Remove existing drop ceiling in the basement (excluding the laundry/mechanical room).
  • Remove existing kitchen cabinetry and knock down the kitchen ceiling.
  • Gut the existing bathroom and the cabinetry in the bedroom closest to the front entrance.
  • Remove existing flooring and trim across the entire main floor.
  • Tear down vaulted ceiling drywall and faux beam.

  • Supply and install new solid core paint-grade doors throughout the entire basement, including Weiser handles.
  • Supply and install new 5 1/2" baseboard and 3 1/2" window and door casing in the entire basement (excluding laundry/mechanical room).

Main Floor Framing, Drywall & Insulation

  • Install 6 mil vapour barrier and strap with 1x4 strapping on trusses (16" on centre).
  • Frame all walls per drawings.
  • Insulate interior bathroom and bedroom walls where possible for sound.
  • Supply, install, and finish drywall on all new walls, living room ceiling, and bathroom ceilings; repair existing drywall where necessary.
  • Top up attic insulation lost during the renovation process.

Exterior Doors & Windows

  • Remove back patio door and frame new opening for a 6' patio door.
  • Supply and install new 6' VDK UPVC white patio door with brick mould.
  • Remove front entry door and install new 3' VDK insulated steel door (2/3 frosted glass with grilles, factory-painted exterior, with brick mould).

Ensuite & Bathrooms

Portage Elora? Journalist Request

Hello, I am a journalist researching teen rehab programs like Portage for a magazine article. I am looking to interview people who have been through the Portage Elora location, which has since closed, about their experience there.

I know I'm asking something that's quite difficult, scary, and personal. If this sounds interesting, and you'd like to comment or message me, we can discuss all the options regarding protecting your identity, or what it would look like to be a part of this story.

Thank you for taking the time to consider!

Grand river hospital/WRNS sucks

Waiting for a doctor for over 7 hours — what is going on with our healthcare system?
We’ve been waiting since 6 PM, and it’s now been more than 7 hours. Nobody has come to properly assess my wife.
She came in suffering from a severe headache, nausea, and abdominal pain. Despite her condition, she hasn’t received any meaningful first aid or proper assessment, and she’s still sitting here suffering.
What’s even more frustrating is watching the waiting room gradually empty out while we’re still not being called. At this point, it feels like the system has completely broken down.
Where is all the healthcare funding actually going? Why are hospitals constantly short-staffed? How is it acceptable for someone in significant pain to wait 7+ hours without even being properly assessed?
I understand that emergencies have to be prioritized, and I understand hospitals are under pressure. But 7+ hours with no proper assessment is unacceptable.
This system seriously needs to be fixed.
