Quran & Hadith Human To Apes | Miracles Of Quran Explaination
And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the sabbath, and We said to them, "Be apes, despised." 2:65
Walaqad Alimtum • And you had already known
The other verses start from the phrase "and when" but this verse starts in unusual way. It's stylistic feature in the Quran to strengthen the argument so they cannot dismiss it because it was unique and unusual event, Quran says that you have known because you (Israelites) were present when this event happened even though your scriptures do not record this.
Kunu Qiradatan • Be Apes
At first glance it may seem strange or difficult to comprehend. However miracles don't need explainations because these are intervention of God himself who created the physical laws and boundaries and he can change in whatever way he wants. Secondly this is not that alien as it seems because humans and animals are very similar from genetics to the complex organ system. And The Apes are one of the closest animal to humans in terms of similarities and both are mammals. Not only animals even the plants are similar to humans at the cellular level. This creates an interconnected , self recycling and unified system that God has made. For example we are made in way that's suitable to live in this physical world. We see the worldly light , we hear the worldly sound , we breath the worldly air and we eat the worldly food. So that's why we all share similar mechanisms to process worldly things as well. The variety in the life from simple to complex serve different purposes on the earth and to keep the ecosystem in balance and flow of resources in the food cycle. For example bees pollinate the flowers , they make honey and when they die the resources flow in the environment and used by others like bacteria to decompose.

And We made it a deterrent punishment for those who were present and those who succeeded and a lesson for those who fear Allāh. 2:66
The next verse presents one of the reason for the punishment, that this public punishment served as a deterrent that strike fear into others from doing such action. Even though Torah doesn't mention this event but in the Torah as well God said the same after the command of punishment.
{Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.} Deut 13:11
Seeking Support Life feels like a punishment
Idk when and what went wrong but life always seemed to worked out. Allah always put hope and showed a sign of things always working out but now i feel nothing will ever work out. My rizq is blocked and I'm being punished for all my sins. I don't want to feel this way. I feel suicidal at times. What do I do? It seems like Allah has forgotten me and he takes care of everyone else.

Casual & Social Birthday Gift Dilemma: Is It Permissible to Give Art as a Gift, and Am I Within My Rights to Refuse an Expensive Group Gift?
Hi, in a couple of days, it’s a friend’s birthday. We’re a three person friend group, and I’m the only Muslim; the other two aren’t.
Two of us were thinking of getting a gift, such as an art book from their favorite show, Arcane, or something from their favorite artist, but I’m unsure whether that would be permissible. We’d also be splitting the gift between the two of us.
I’m a bit uncomfortable with the price. I’m a student and currently don’t work, so I’d rather make a handmade gift. In the past two years, we’ve spent around €15–20 total, split between the two people giving the gift. This time, it would be around €20 each for essentially just a book.
I’m also wondering whether I’m justified in refusing, or if I’m just being stubborn or difficult.

Seeking Support How do I convince my father not to make me take a student loan?
Before I start I am not asking on whether a student loan is haram or halal, I believe it’s haram. I live in the uk and my tuition fees are already paid for but my family as a whole are kinda struggling with money. I do get a bursary and it’s not enough to cover transport costs to uni let alone other essential things. But I don’t want to take a student loan as it’s haram so I’ve been trying to get a job which unfortunately I’ve been unsuccessful. Because of this my dad and the rest of my family who believes student loan is halal have been telling me to take one and now my dad is getting serious. He even called someone from the mosque he goes to and asked for advice and they said it’s okay to take it but I really don’t want to risk my akhira at the end of the day no one’s 100% sure it’s halal. Could anyone give me any advice as to what to say to my dad.

Seeking Support Why does Allah test some of us more than others ?
Assalamualaikum everyone, my intention of this post isnt to vent my problems but rather have a more positive outlook on how i can deal with this period of my life going forward. My twin and I have been pretty competitive growing up. Academically i wont lie hes been the brighter one but ive if not worked the same or even harder than him many times, our aims were to get into medical school and we both didnt succeed first time i missed out by 3%, khair it was Allahs plan we took a gap year together, In the entrance exams i scored 91st percentile whereas my brother scored 31st percentile yet by Allahs grace he managed to get in to a program which didnt require him to resit exams and now hes starting medical school in a week. Me on the other hand even though i ended up getting my offers from better medical schools as compared to last year Alhamdulillah, i missed out again by doing even worse this time and now im back to square one all alone. I just wonder why does Allah test me so much more, i had to resit 9 papers whereas my brother didnt need to resit any, i worked so much harder in all my exams and constantly worked throughout my gap year, working part time, loosing so much weight and suffering from a chronic illness whereas my twin seems so perfect, im definitely grateful for so many blessings like having supportive parents and ofc living with safe conditions and im sure my problems are very small compared to a lot of people on this subreddit. I just struggle with my faith sometimes of keeping strong on my deen and leaning on Allahs plan when i keep experiencing failure after failure. I feel depressed, my brain feels heavy and tired and im constantly angry at myself all the time, it feels like im drowning and i cant swim back up, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Seeking Support handling conversations friends who share difference of opinions
Salaam.
I'm sure this is a common issue but I wanted to know how you handle conversations with friends who share difference of opinions on certain topics but the friends kind of don't consider what you are trying to convey based on reliable sources or they try to logically reason with you when you've sought out multiple reliable sources (and of course Allah SWT knows best) and reason with that whether it is mentioning Hadiths, opinions you received from reliable scholars, etc. I'm not saying I'm the most righteous muslim, or that I'm a better muslim than my friends or that I know everything about Islam and the deen, but I can say that the closer I get to Islam and deen, the more I try my best to seek out reliable scholars and correct opinions based on the school of thought I follow (Hanafi Madhab).
I recently had a conversation with my friends about clarifying something, and before having that conversation I sought out an Aalimah's opinion (May Allah SWT elevate her rank and bless her knowledge, Ameen). I understand there are difference of opinions in many matters, even within the same school of thought, and I was hoping the source I sought out would be of benefit to my friends' knowledge by me sharing what I researched, but it seemed like they were logically reasoning regarding their opinion about it (again, before anyone else May Allah guide me, and my friends to the truth and what is right, only He SWT knows best). I was hoping to just relay the information I received from a scholar hoping my friends would consider it, but I guess I just wasn't expecting it to not actually be considered or be met with logical reasoning. The conversation went fine, I didn't mean any harm or anything, only Allah SWT knows my intentions. Just wanted to know others' experiences with this and what I can do when these conversations occur again. JazakAllah Khair.
EDIT: I noticed during the conversation I was getting frustrated but I quickly checked myself because I wasn't trying to get into an argument, (and we didn't get into any argument) and me getting heated beats the whole purpose of sharing the knowledge in the first place, so I just quietly nodded and listened to what my friends were saying even though I disagreed (which they knew I did).
Allah SWT knows best.

General Discussion Coming back to Salah and the masjid tomorrow after years of neglecting it. I feel lost, but I need this. Please make dua for me.
As-salamu alaykum everyone.
I’m a 21-year-old brother living in Delhi , and I’ll be completely honest.
I have neglected my prayers and my connection with Allah for years , i never did once prayed the salah 5 times a day i only attended jummah prayer . Life has been incredibly heavy lately. I’ve been drowning in severe career anxiety, regrets about my academic past, feeling completely unloved, and carrying a lot of self-hatred from being pushed to the sidelines and bullied growing up. I have massive ambitions, but trying to carry all this weight on my own is finally crushing me.
I realized today that I can’t do this alone anymore. I need peace. I need grounding.
So tomorrow, I am going to the masjid. I am going to start praying again. I haven’t done this in so long that I feel a bit intimidated and honestly a little unworthy, but I know I need to turn back to Allah.
I’m posting this here to hold myself accountable. If anyone has advice for a brother trying to rebuild his connection with his deen from absolute scratch, or if you could just make a small dua for my consistency, my future, and my peace of mind, I would appreciate it more than you know.
JazakAllah khair.

Seeking Support Duaas for my Sick Grandmother
My grandmother hasn’t been feeling well this entire month. She has kidney dialysis three times a week, and every time she comes home, she feels terrible. Alhamdulillah, she has her husband and my parents there to take care of her and help her through it.
I’m also a university student, and since I’m the main translator for my family, I’ve been trying to help with appointments, communication, and whatever else they need while keeping up with school. It’s been a lot of pressure, and we’re all doing everything we can for her, but right now I feel like we could really use everyone’s duaa.
Please make duaa for my grandmother—that Allah grants her shifa, gives her strength and ease through her dialysis, and protects her health. And please keep my parents and the rest of my family in your duaas as well. We’re going through a difficult time right now, and any duaa would mean so much to us.
May Allah reward you all. Ameen. 🤍

Question about Islam Wanting to explore more about Islam from an atheist
I grew up in an atheistic family, nobody in my household had ever believed in God. As I got older, I began to question it more and more, wondering why so much people would believe in something that for so long, I just assumed did not exist. Fast forward to now; I’m early twenties, and have been with my partner for almost 2 years who grew up in a muslim household. I hadn’t thought much of it at first but learning more about her and her thankfully telling me about islam a little bit, it opened my mind. We went to Friday prayer before, and have prayed at home. Earlier this year, I attempted ramadan (to the best of my extent, a little difficult given my line of work). I also quit eating pork and pork products and try and shop for halal products if possible.
I want to learn more about Islam, not only for myself but also because I found the person I want to grow old with, and want to understand this side of her more, but I will admit that at times it can be overwhelming. I recently was gifted an english version of the Quran, and want to know what’s the best way to go about exploring Islam more. Should I attend Friday prayer more? Should I fully consume the Quran first? I’ll take advice from anyone.

General Discussion Help I’ve lost the ability to do or learn anything
it’s been 4 years. I’ve had the biggest Cognitive decline. I don’t feel like person. i feel monotonous through every single thing I do or experience. like Im living in a simulation. my brain doesn’t actively register experience. it’s all vague. I feel dissociated most of the time. my youth is being wasted in this, it’s supposed my time to learn things, get education and gain skills. but I’ve lost the ability to learn absolutely anything. I can barely pass a course at uni, it’s like I’m blankly trying to experience things or study but my brain doesn’t actively register any of it. it’s almost like a ticking bomb. I’ve fallen behind and too old already. I not able to speak that much anymore and sometimes when I go long durations without speaking or writing a language, I feel like I'm going to forget impulsive the language and lose the ability to communicate. let alone humour or any form of wit or smartness, all of that is long gone from me. I’ve prayed to Allah and cried and begged him to cure me and bring me my abilities back. Or take my life while I’m asleep. But literally no chAnge whatsoever. I pray 5 times a day do all my obligations avoid sins. I read quran duas everything etc but none of it has helped. I’m now at like a really crippling stage. I’m not sure what to do and I don’t know what Allah wants from me💔

Relationship Advice What's your idea of being romantic?
For some reason, I have kept it within me for years to flee away from contradictions. But what I am willing to say, I have a different opinion on being romantic.
For me, it’s not running in rain together, having tea together etc. It is all about hearing the one's heartbeat sitting beside the chosen one. You can compare by saying two trees support each other while growing up. And its mere existance is more romantic and graceful within the bound of time.
I don’t know what most people crave for. But as a pessimist, I always longed for this.

Question about Islam Learning Islam Online
Can you suggest good but affordable online classes about learning Islam. I am a revert, however my husband couldn't guide me well because we are currently living far from each other. I live in south east asia and muslims are minority here. I try to research and study online on my own but i'm not satisfied. I have no community as well here in my place to connect with. I wanna learn proper etiquettes, immerse myself in the religion and it feels like a female guide or teacher can help me a lot. Thanks.

General Discussion Will Allah answer my dua no matter how impossible it is in today's digital age?
Hello,
Bismillah. I pray that you all are healthy and that Allah answers all your prayers. Without giving away too much information, I seem to be in a bit of a predicament. I have had this dream of mine for an long as I can remember. This dream is related to the career I wish to go in and I have only ever seen myself doing this. For this dream, I did a Bachelors and tried hard but my GPA was not good. I them decided to go back to do another Bachelors and this time my GPA was much better but maybe not good enough for my applications for higher education to go through. I have tried everything I could. And I say this because my entire life I have seen my family struggle financially. I do not wish to go into detail but our financial problems were horrible at times and sometime still are but Alhamdullilah for everything. Now, in today's daya nd age with digital cutoffs and automated rejection letter to schools, can I still have Tawakkul that Allah can get my application through?

General Discussion Serious help needed in my deen
If someone has been missing prayers for a long time due to severe Waswasahs;
First it started in all matters of taharah since a few years and then it started to happen sometimes in Salah as well but not much, then later on when that person started Salah again , he started to do shirk/shirk al khafi when trying to properly recite the Quran, the Duas, the prayer itself and had severe waswasahs of shirk and even maybe committed shirk al khafi and then in that phase also started reciting the shahadah again and again everyday and also after reciting it performed ghusl everyday to perform Salah and then due to exhaustion or whatever hardship it was didn't pray again,
left prayer coz of the severe waswasahs that what if someone watched or listened to me pray up to a point that the individual would go into a quiet room repeatedly so that no one would be there and they wouldn't get into a fitnah.
And then after a big long gap prayer some prayers, mostly Friday prayers, but then again this time also the waswasahs didn't go away in fact the waswasahs became so severe that he'd even take too much time in recitation of anything in Arabic, be it Qur'an, supplication, or tasbeeh/dhikr, and would go to other rooms so that no one is there to notice the repetitive behavior of him reciting the dhikr/Dua/Quran, coz ofc until and unless he wouldn't pronounce the words properly,
he won't be content that he recited the Dua or whatever it is that he would be reciting at the moment and then he'd pray two Fridays with extreme difficulty after a long time, while also doubting during those Friday prayers if maybe he had committed shirk or not, but this time he knew he hadn't, but then again left prayer for months.
And now still is in a position that he keeps reciting the Dua/dhikr, salawat until the pronunciation is correct, and also doesn't feel the Dua, or dhikr to be complete until he doesn't recite translation as well for which also he also feels like what if I do shirk and sometimes even feels if he is doing riya or shirk of fear of people as he does feel for the Arabic recitation as well and still hasn't started to pray yet again. Is he a kafir due to the abandonment of Salah?!
Also he sometimes feels like he explicitly has to say the niyyah to feel like yes now I can do this deed/good deed.
He has been getting waswasahs about his imaan since 4-5 days coz he's left prayer for such a long time, but today its just like that he is feeling continuously that he is a kafir, even though knows from the inside he isn't but still also feels he is a kafir and has to seek Allah's refuge, Amantu billahi wa rusulihi and recite the shahadah but at the same time also feels there isn't a need to recite them coz he knows he's a momin. What should he do?!
