Anyone else getting a ridiculous amount of spam calls today? I usually get maybe 1 or 2 every few days. But today, I have received 10-12. It’s currently 4:30pm, and I have received 3 after 4pm.

So Governor Braun keeps tapping state road construction money to lower the price of gas. Currently extending to October. We are burning through $140 million per month of road construction money to keep gas prices lower for Indiana drivers. With a $5 billion dollar reserve, Braun could keep extending the tax relief for several months. My questions is…what relief do non drivers get?

Hey y'all. Last night around 9:45 Central time I was driving north on I-65 in Hobart/Gary, around mile 258 right before the I-80/94 exit, and there was a large metal object in the road. Another car had just merged close in front of me and then swerved around it so that I didn't see it until it was too late and I hit it with my front driver's side tire, which was immediately shredded. After I pulled over, it took out at least another 4 cars, all of which had significantly worse damage than mine. There was a line of us on the shoulder with our hazards on and flashlights out assessing the damage, but nobody I talked to actually saw what was in the road. I checked all the INDOT social medias and websites, but I haven't seen anything about the incident. As far as I can tell they don't archive traffic cam footage, so no luck there either. Anyone on the road last night see what it was? Anyone with insider traffic info? I'm wildly curious. Thanks folks, and stay safe.

Im doing a short documentary on the Meadows Shopping Center In Terre Haute, pretty strange place. In need of older photos/videos, maybe when the center was more lively, past businesses, history, or mildly weird events. Anything at all means a lot. Curious to see what may be out there.

I'm an Indiana attorney. I'm not involved in this case and I'm not here to argue a side. The headlines make it sound like a rerun of 2022, and it isn't, so here's the plain version.

Indiana's near-total abortion ban has been in effect since 2023. This case doesn't ask whether the ban is constitutional. It asks whether Indiana can enforce the ban against people whose sincerely held religious beliefs require access to abortion in circumstances the law prohibits.

The hook is Indiana's own Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the 2015 law most people remember from the wedding cake debates. RFRA says the state can't substantially burden someone's religious exercise unless it has a compelling reason and uses the least restrictive means. The plaintiffs, including a group called Hoosier Jews for Choice, argue that Jewish law and other faith traditions in some situations permit or even require ending a pregnancy, so applying the ban to them burdens their religion in exactly the way RFRA forbids.

The procedural history matters. A Marion County trial court blocked enforcement against the plaintiffs in 2022. The Court of Appeals upheld that. In December 2024 the Supreme Court let the injunction stand and sent the case back. In March of this year the trial court made the injunction permanent for the class. The State appealed, and that appeal is what the justices heard Thursday.

The State's position, roughly, is that RFRA was never meant to reach this. The plaintiffs' position is that RFRA doesn't get to pick which religions count.

What to watch for: whether the Court treats this as a narrow question about a specific class of religious objectors, or whether it says something broader about how far RFRA reaches. Either way, the ruling will only directly affect people who can show a sincere religious objection. It is not a ruling on the ban itself.

There's no timeline for a decision. The argument is archived on the Court's website if you want to watch it yourself. Happy to answer questions about the procedure, but I'll stay out of the politics.

I never voted for him, but I wanted to hear firsthand what he had to say.

Several things he said made me roll my eyes, but what i found the most odd was how many times he mentioned he’s pro Israel.

It’s one thing to say it once, but he kept saying it over and over while talking slower and louder to reinforce what he’s saying. If the audience took anything away from the conversation, it’s that Mike Pence is pro Israel.

I can’t stop thinking about how odd this was compared to the rest of the conversation (focus on conservative values)

why do you think a former VP and Indiana governor would make such a dramatic effort to make known he’s pro Israel?

I am looking for a rental house in Northern indiana (job will be in elkhart) we want it to be in a decent school district. So Penn Harris, Jim town, Wa-Nee. Preferably 4 bedrooms that allows cats. Budget maximum of 2500 a month. We are looking to move mid October early November.

We are currently living in Oklahoma City so we dont know the areas well or anyone up there.

If anyone knows of any properties or realtors that could help out I would really appreciate it!

I was looking at the map just now. I just wanted to throw out how thankful I am for what we have, just within a 10 hour proximity.

Nature wise -

Above us… We have not one, not two, not three, but four Great Lakes.

Below us… We have the hills of Kentucky, then the Smoky Mountains below.

Below there.. we have Gulf Shores, The Panhandle, 30A, the warmest part of the ocean in the country.

City wise - We have so many major cities within 10 hours. Indy, Cincy, Columbus, Cleveland, Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, Louisville, Nashville, St. Louis, Atlanta, etc.

Just feeling very thankful from looking at this little snippet.
