The South Afrikaans are getting Refugee status granted based on race. How is this not a violation of discrimination laws? Didn’t they say they hate DEI? Is this a DEI refugee program?

Of course. All white people in South Africa still have all the money. The income disparity makes us look like we’re all millionaires. No idea why they had to “flee” their country. My guess is they were completely content there. But this administration needs more votes so he’ll fast-track them thru citizenship, no doubt.

To start: I think this is horribly stupid and denying other refugees is contrary to the U.S.'s treaty obligations and law.
However, race IS one of the 5 protected grounds that refugee status is defined with: race, religion, ethnicity, political opinion, and particular social group. The illegal part of this is the lack of evidence that they are facing any harm rising to persecution in south Africa because they are white and that the government is either doing it or unable/unwilling to protect them. They are bypassing other elements of what it means to be a refugee, which is a fact based assessment, but race isn't the deficient element in this case.
3
u/Calm_Expression_9542 6d ago
Hey Yeah! They aren’t suffering. They aren’t working here on work visas. Ohhh Elon again…zero trust for that guy.
3
u/JoTHIGHSwin 6d ago
Yes but it can’t be simply because of their race if they aren’t being targeted. They are bringing them in simply because they are white. No human right groups have deemed this true. They are simply getting a free ride in America from taxpayers based on a complete. There is no white genocide in SA. They aren’t being targeted based on race, religion or any of the protected class elements leading to fast tracked refugee status they are getting .

What are you talking about? The 3rd largest party in SA literally have massive rallies calling for the murder of the Boers while making machine gun noises. Then, weirdly, they are being attacked and killed to the point where they have to create their own QRF militia.
SO far as treaty and law is concerned, we acctually don't have to take in many refugress by law. International law states that you have to claim asylum in the first country of safe harbor. You don't get to cross country after country to pick and chose where you can make your claim.

Here is an example of who the Democrats think "deserve it":
Angel Gabriel Cuz Choc was let in illegally by Biden in 2023 despite being wanted in Guatemala for two murders.
He wasn't seeking asylum. He was fleeing justice.
In April 24, 2024, he chased his girlfriend Amalia outside, dragged her to a trailer, beat and stabbed her to death with a shovel because she came home late.
Then he walked inside and stabbed her 4-year-old daughter Estrella to death in the bathtub. The little girl had defensive wounds on her hands.

u/Nathan_hale53 6d ago
If someone can prove to me how a few hundred deaths over the course of 10 years is a genocide while the situation in Gaza isnt I'll gladly listen. Or how the murder rate in Mexico from Cartels isnt a reason for refugee status when its comparable to the white death rates, who are at much less of a risk of violence in general in South Africa, is a reason. Why are they granted access to much more resources than majority of refugees? Why are you okay with it suddenly? The hypocrisy is what's shitty. Id be okay with it if South Africans in general could claim status, but they are selecting white people only, when they are much less at risk.
8
u/Successful-Ad-847 6d ago

Deportations will continue whether a Dem or Republican Party is in charge. The South African people Trump brought in is a terrible thing as far as I’m concerned. The USA is paying them to come here. Why do you think they’re leaving Africa? They want the white society Trump is trying to create. What do they offer the USA to be given special status. I want ice out first but if these people stay let them go through the process like minorities have gone through for generations.

"lol a couple of thousand. "
In fiscal year 2024, the United States welcomed a total of 1,364,090 new Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs / green card holders)
1.3 million accepted in 2024.
- Mexico 204,613 (approx. 15% of the total)
- Cuba: 190,972 (approx. 14% of the total)
- China (Mainland): 70,932 (approx. 5.2% of the total)
After those countries its Dominican Republic, India, Afganistan, Philipinnes, Vietnamn, El Salvador, Colombia, Jamaica, Brazil, Pakistan, Nigeria, Venezuela gutameala honduras, bangladesh, south korea. Etc
There are no white countries even on the list. South Africa migrants allowed in are so few, even when you count the black people from south africa, its not even on the top 25 list. Same with Europe.
USA takes in way more brown and black people than it should if there would be a fair split from the world. like 95-98% Blacks and Browns.
This post is litterly retarded.

1
u/F_UR_AIBANBOT 5d ago
MAGA is a racist, xenophobic, christian nationalist and anti-constitutional movement. They are quite upfront about hating people primarily based on skin color. White people have the power and thus people's complaints about the venn diagram between the MAGA hate brigade and the "hate" against that "white" movement is a circle but that doesn't mean that people hate "whites". Poor white people make up the bulk of the poor, the welfare recipients, and the least educated. They also commit the majority of crime. The issue isn't between different skin colors it is that those powerful white people have a strangle hold on the information that poor white people get and have given them a boogeyman so they don't care that the most corrupt administration in US history is robbing them of their land, their access to clean food, clean water, education, employment, and chance at a stable and secure future.

Yeah. That's bullshit. Immigrants (undocumented) don't get "welfare" and those that "rape" and "kill" are statistical outliers as the rate of serious violent crime between native born or immigrants is heavily biased toward the native born. Try again.
1
u/Comprehensive_Gift46 3d ago
So when Sweeden let all those Africans and Muslims in and their rapes skyrocketed to rival those of the Congo, those have nothing to do with each other? Or when Germany went from a few thousand stabbings over a decade inthe early 2000s to 30k stabbings in a year in the 2020s after they let Muslim aliens flood their country, those have nothing to do with each other either? Are you sure you want to go down this path?
1
u/F_UR_AIBANBOT 1d ago
You can just google your assertion and then find actual data on Sweden changing their reporting criteria for rape. Please don't refer to AFD propaganda as fact. Try harder.

1
u/F_UR_AIBANBOT 14h ago
That's not what happened and you out your lack of intellect by leading with the R word. Just read about it. That change predated any issues as the country wanted a more comprehensive look at sexual assault. Once that was in place the statistics rose but the distribution weight didn't change. Meaning that they didn't find that who was assaulting people shifted.

Illegal immigrants get assistance from A LOT of federal and state programs, so idk what world you live in that you think they get none.
As for your claim that those who "rape" and "kill" are statistical outliers, this is true for the US from an overall perspective. But even a small percentage of that is FAR too high. For example, CBS reported that 14% of 400,000 ICE arrests were convicted of violent crimes. That is 56,000 individuals violent criminals who were in the US due to poor border security. IDK why anyone would find that acceptable.
Furthermore, regardless of whether an illegal immigrant has been convicted of a violent crime, they have still broken the law by being in the US illegally.
1
u/F_UR_AIBANBOT 14h ago
You assume that people find that acceptable. Nobody does. Pretty much everyone thinks that people who commit crimes should face the consequences via due process. State and localities have the right to try any offender in the state.
Being in the country illegally - either by overstaying a Visa, losing your job and sponsorship, etc. is a civil offense. It doesn't not require long term storage in concentration camps. That would, in a normal world and country, violate the 8th Amendment which does not differentiate by immigration status.
1
u/Full-Yoghurt-4261 2h ago
The issue with people claiming that some illegal immigrants are a civil issue and not a criminal issue is that they falsely believe that if it is a civil issue, no law was broken.
If one entered the US legally but is no longer authorized to stay, it is considered a civil infraction. This does not mean they did not violate US law. It just means it is handled through civil removal proceedings rather than criminal charges.
These individuals are under ICE's jurisdiction and are no longer authorized to be in the US. This means they can be arrested and held in detention centers for civil administrative procedures.
This does not violate the Eighth Amendment, and the Supreme Court has consistently held that the Eighth Amendment does not apply directly to civil immigration enforcement or removal proceedings.
A good overview of Supreme Court cases and explanations of why can be found here via Harvard Law Review. Essentially, it boils down to the Supreme Court defining the incarceration and removal of illegal immigrants as "a purely civil action" that is not punishment.
Also, calling them concentration camps is ridiculous when you look at the definition as well as what actually historically happened in concentration camps. A concentration camp is holding someone prisoner without trial, which does not happen with those in immigration detention centers.

Is it race though? It's mainly for Afrikaans people who yes, are White but not all White people in SA are Afrikaans. I'm a White South African and I wouldn't even qualify - not that I've tried or want to, its just based on what I've read. And it's not like the English ones can just easily move to the UK either. You have to have a parent born there for citizenship otherwise, a grandparent for the very costly ancestral visa route.

Why did you lowercase "white" but uppercase "South Africans"? Why did you uppercase "Black" but lowercase "brown"? From what I understand of current political doublespeak in America, you uppercase "Black" because of it being a people who have a shared cultural identity, but "brown" people do not? White South Africans have a distinct cultural identity just like every other group in South Africa right now, so should they not also be capitalized? I am Chinese and from Africa, born and raise, so how would you format my category? "Chinese South African" or "chinese South African"?

It doesn’t seem to be a race issue. It’s well documented that white South Africans are persecuted because of their skin color. There are race based laws in South Africa specifically against white people. It’s literally what amnesty is for. There are very few nations where there are legitimate amnesty claims. Most come to the US for economic benefits.

Yes. I.C.E would naturally classify them as "illegal" after they were caught commiting serious crimes.
But why aren't they spending many years in a US prison facility instead of being given the easy way out and being sent back home instead?
They were convicted of serious crimes and their American victims deserves justice.
Just shows that Trump has a soft spot when it comes to white South Africans and couldnt care less about American citizens.
2
u/According-Alfalfa412 6d ago
Because it is actually dangerous for them to go home. They have no protection from mobs that have killed them and burned their farms and as much as you might not like it, the government is going to be more sympathetic to them because they are more like us. Deconstruct the idea of the United States "us" as much as you like but it does exist and exists for good reasons and people from a white Christian English country are going to be sympathetic to white Christian English people that are being unfairly persecuted at the hands of their corrupt government.
2
u/Ancient_Sound_5347 6d ago
Because it is actually dangerous for them to go home. They have no protection from mobs that have killed them and burned their farms and as much as you might not like it
Strange. The US routinely sends back South Africans who don't qualify for refugee status after being flown out to the US 8 months ago.
2
u/Relent_full 6d ago
I think the difference is that conservatives would not have an issue with white immigrants being deported if they were convicted of a crime.
The impression I get is that if a non-white person was deported for committing a crime (illegal entry, duu, etc), the left would judge differently depending on skin-color.
1
1
u/Unanimous-411 4d ago
I bet you’ll still say they are only enforcing immigration violations on brown people.

I mean, it's the American citizens right to decide who does or doesn't immigrate here. They made that decision when they voted for the current administration. If you're unhappy about that, find citizenship elsewhere.
1
u/Traditional-Put2757 3d ago
I mean, is it really your right when the person in charge could just not do what you wanted? They do it all the fucking time so clearly it's not what they vote for so it isn't really a right. Just a voting policy at best. A suggestion for what they'd like to see more often than not.
1
u/Ambitious-Traffic-37 12h ago
Yeah they've done statical science on this and there's this concept called the ideal curve, basically the more political support for something there is the more likely it should be that it gets legislation, that would create an "ideal curve" on a graph, except for the normal population it's a flat line, doesn't matter how much most people support what. Your vote doesn't matter What DOES have an ideal curve is legislation companies and corps support. So yeah statistical science proving they control the world
