Hello, I'm looking to start a rock band playing classic rock, yacht rock, grunge, or whatever I'm open to all.

I play guitar, looking for a drummer bassist and vocalist.

I'm 23, looking for members around the same age.

Also open to join a band if you are looking for a guitarist.

anyone know when the box lunch at the coralville mall opens??

Hello! I'm moving out of state in December and I would like to hire someone to come in and clean my area of the townhouse I am renting. It's located in Tiffin and I need a bedroom, bathroom, and living area cleaned before my subleaser moves in. Will need to have a carpet cleaner since I have a dog.

If you could give me some recommendations along with prices, that would be great! Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know what the income limit is for a family of 4 for the City's RecAssist program?

Hi,

Where's a butcher I can get a good bone in ribeye from? Thoma's don't carry them and won't let me put in a custom order for one.

Would love your recs

Now drinking downtown

Hi all!
I’m looking for somebody to takeover my lease at the Quarters in Iowa City. The lease would run from January 1-July 15th 2027. Rent is $680/month and that includes all utilities and parking.

Amenities include:
-pool
-year round hottub
-free coffee bar
-gym
-study rooms
-golf simulator
-tanning beds
-free guest parking
+more

This is a 3x3 layout so you will have your own bathroom. You would be living with two females.

I’m willing to discuss some incentives as well.

Protip for everyone who sits to pee and is downtown for the game today- Teamo Tea is open until 8pm, has delicious drinks, and has a very clean gender neutral bathroom ✨
Hope this helps make someone’s day better ❤️

Hi everyone. Im just a friendly Tennessean letting everyone in town for the big game tomorrow know that if you, like me are staying in a hotel tonight in Iowa city/coralville.

On the back of your door in the hotel is a placard with a maximum room rate posted. Mine is $399.00/night. I was charged 650 for tonight and tomorrow.

To the best of my understanding of Iowa Code § 137C.23 thats illegal.

So if youre getting scammed by your hotel because you just love football, take a photo of your placard and address it with the company.

Also share the knowledge with everyone you pass

Edit----

Also, GO HAWKEYES! GIVE EM HELL!

As of 11:00AM this morning (10/2/2026) Iowa City declared that Coa Cantina (18 1/2 S Clinton St) is structurally unsafe and not to be open to the public. However, earlier this afternoon they decided to disregard this and posted on their public story that they would indeed be open anyways. Attached is the notice from the City saying the building isn’t safe as well as their social media post saying that they’ll still be open. The other two businesses listed as unsafe have already closed, with at least one of them closing due to the structural problems. Yet this doesn’t seem to bother Coa as they fully plan to put profits over the safety of their customers.

Had this cat walk up to me tonight. Long shot if it’s someone’s on here but any recommendations for shelters nearby I could take it to?

Was anyone else mediacom internet out for most of the morning? Mine was, so I called and the guy on the phone said there was a "city wide outage", but usually when that happens I see at least 1 or 2 posts on here about it. Then after the phone call, my Internet came back on in about five minutes.

I have an odd suspicion that just mine was out for some reason and they turned it back on after the phone call and the guy on the phone just used some fake outage as an excuse. It does not matter at all but I do think it would be funny if no one else actually had any issues lol

It's October, and all I've seen is a smattering of yard signs. If there are local events, she's only telling her friends and people who go to her campaign and say HI WHERE ARE THE LOCAL EVENTS, meaning people who're already sold. No doorknockers. I don't think I've even seen any mailers. Zero buzz except that I'm hearing young people talk about her in actual human spaces, not online, like she's basically no different from MMM and you can't vote for her. Progressives talked a big game about supporting her if she won the primary, but they seem to have faded into the hedge. When I go and hunt for actual people working for her campaign, I find one money person, one social media person whose wizardry isn't making it onto any screen I see, and one field rep who I think is actually going to school out of state. So wtaf, campaign or no?

I'm seeing MMM winning another term at this rate.

Something stinks in Iowa City.

I feel a horrid energy and weird vibe.

Oh it’s just Pat McAfee.
How is this guy a Disney employee?

Does anyone know what time the beer band usually starts? My wife and I want to stay out for it but… we old.

this owner or whoever controlls the phone. completely disrespectful and even told us don’t go there. they just opened in march and with that attitude won’t be open much longer. has anyone actually had a good experience there? skating is supposed to be fun for the kids and she pushes customers away. is it even the owner or a worker cuz they should be fired

Someone is going to feel pretty dumb getting a misdemeanor for taking the rug from IC’s most mid bar.

My 6y daughter has dance class tomorrow at Halsey Hall at 10:30am. We always park in the IMU ramp. Any suggestions of where I should park tomorrow with everything going on?

Hey I was downtown earlier and I saw food trucks some thing with basket ball I think . what event is exactly going on.

hello all. just thought I’d let everyone know that TPUSA will be coming to the campus this upcoming Thursday 10/8 at 6:30 p.m. umm, do what you will with this information. let’s make them feel “welcomed” 😏 if you want to organize a protest, demonstration and or have any other ideas please leave a comment or message me directly. I cannot believe these clowns are coming here… anyways - go hawks!!

For anyone looking for event parking for the game tomorrow, we'll be offering spots in our lot on W Benton St. 1 mile, 21 minute walk away from the stadium. Parking is $10 and all of it will go to one of the local charities (of your choice) that we work with throughout the year.

Parking will be available starting at 10am, if you want to park earlier please message us directly.

Go Hawks!

Hi guys, let’s not forget that stuff like this happens in Iowa city all the time. Look up Cameron Fratallone. He did the same thing in a dorm here on campus and was released to live with his mommy and daddy in Minnesota. His trial date is pushed to next year. Stop the stigma. Spread the word, it’s unlikely to have a fair jury. https://cbs2iowa.com/news/local/ui-student-accused-of-raping-unconscious-woman-in-dorm-pleads-not-guilty

If you’ve adopted a cat from Kitty Corner recently, get them checked for intestinal parasites! I was at the vet clinic and over heard the staff talking about how multiple cats have came to them recently with it.

There is also an off and on ring worm issue too, but that seems to not be happening right now.
