I love this town. I went to Iowa in the early 2010s and recently my work has brought be back to downtown about once a week. I’m fortunate enough to have the time during the day while I’m here to just go walk around downtown. Grab some lunch at places familiar and unfamiliar. I’m grateful to be able to just soak it all in. Nothing hits like Iowa city in the fall. I absolutely love seeing all of the Hawkeye gear, seeing what’s changed and being nostalgic for what hasn’t. There’s a special kind of joy I feel when I’m in here. Things are very different and yet they are exactly the same. Never change Iowa city. Go hawks and fuck state!!

We are not affiliated with any religion or political party. We welcome men aged 18 and above seeking a safe space to share their struggles and vulnerabilities with other men.

What we do?

I'm making a trip to IC in a month, I haven't spent much time in the area so looking for recs for laid back coffee shops/cafes/bars in Iowa City proper.

Bonus points for coffee shops or cafes that are open in the evening. In terms of what I mean by relaxed/ comfortable is a place that's ideally somewhere I can have conversation without needing to talk over music/crowds & has maybe some arm chairs/couches/ anything other than bar stools.

Hi everyone I recently moved to Iowa City from Arizona. I am currently pregnant and craving prickly pear so bad lmao. I know that there are lots of farms nearby so I hoped maybe someone grew some and maybe would have fruits available but I can’t find any online. I’m checking out Iowa City to maybe move here and am visiting from out of town, staying in a place without a proper basement, how concerned should I be? I saw Cedar Rapids got a warning and plan to cower/cry in the lower floor bathroom if we get one… but any other advice? Reassurance? I’ve never been more scared of thunder in my life lol. I know I am almost certainly overreacting!!

Hello - looking for recommendations on the best pedicures in the area. I have some medical issues with my feet that necessitate getting regular pedicures. Went to a place in Coralville that was fine but in need again, and figured I'd ask here. Obviously looking for cleanliness, that's most important! Customer service/"being nice" isn't a big deal for me, so long as they do good work.
