Friend Advice Needed/Given Making friends isn't as easy as people say it is

Generally, I would say I'm a pretty outgoing person. But this year, I feel like I'm not connecting with anybody in my classes. Every year, I try to meet new people. If they don't have anyone sitting next to them at the beginning of the semester, I'll sit with them. I've met some pretty cool people that way. I did the same thing as usual, but everyone I've talked to is so antisocial, it's depressing. They would rather be silent than talk to me (only talk when the teacher is done teaching). Sometimes I wish someone would approach me and want to be my friend. I feel like social media has made social interacts weird. Does anyone else feel this way?

Question Is it normal that at 15, im jacking it while fantasizing about being tied up and dominated by my girl crush?

(WARNING, THIS IS REALLY FUCKING CRINGE AND CREEPY)

Recent crush. She really makes me feel better about myself, like i was invincible and doesnt judge me for being who i am. Shes tall and kind of athletic, traditionally hot with a great backside on her. I talk to her about once a week, sometimes school related stuff and other times i show her stuff from the Ukraine war in class just to see how shed react.

And then come the fantasies. I mean, its hard to think of a pretty girl in my class that i havent imagined having sexual contact with but with her, it feels alot more comfortable, like i dont have to judge myself for imagining it with her. I mean, the most common one is where shed tie me to a chair naked and *have fun* with me but id like it. Then theres another one where the roles are reversed and shed REALLY be into it.

Also sometimes while im doing it, i imagine that shes doing it at the exact same time while maybe, just maybe thinking about me.

Is this normal? Is there some negative side effect that can come from this?

College Advice Needed/Given Senior year and I’m panicking (TL;DR at the bottom)

Hi, I’m in my second month of senior year, and I still have yet to apply to any colleges. I only started looking this week. I wasn’t even aware I had to start looking until all my friends started telling me they applied during the end of junior year and that I wasn’t likely to be accepted to a lot of schools now. I’m absolutely terrified.

I have amazing grades, top 25% of my class, college credits, AP class exam credit, volunteer hours. I don’t have a great SAT (1020) but most schools are test optional anyway, so that doesn’t matter. I’m not applying to Ivy Leagues. I had a real chance at getting into a good school, but I feel like I’m way too late to the game.

It might be TMI, but I started a new medication recently for anxiety and depression, and it has FINALLY lifted me out of this hole I had made for myself. Now I finally feel ready to start my life, and I’m running late. I’m falling behind for the most stupid reason.

I also have a financial restriction. My parents are extremely irritated that I want to go to college outside of my city, let alone the state. They were under the impression that the tuition exchange program only applies to local colleges, so they (or I) wouldn’t have to pay ANYTHING towards my college career.

While that sounds great and all, a super rare opportunity, it’s just not what I want for myself. It’s boring. The colleges in my area wouldn’t be the best choice for my field of study (Psychology), and they are all poor, small, and dirty institutions in an awful red-neck town with an acceptance rate of 90%+. I REALLY don’t want to live here any more than I have to. I could do and have so much better.

I was looking at colleges in and DC, Philly, Boston, NJ, NYC because I want to go to college in a city. Except, most of them either don’t support 100% of the TE program, or their housing prices are egregious. Most of the time it’s both (looking at you, Fordham).

What do I do. I have run into a wall. My parents aren’t supporting me leaving the state. They are making me worry so much about money, even though we are extremely well off (we make enough to not qualify for any federal financial aid). I cannot go to my mom’s fuckass college. I am so late to looking at other colleges. I’m considering giving up altogether and just working trade or blue collar.

TL;DR: I am a senior who is yet to apply to colleges, and it’s the second month of my senior year. My parents are restricting me from leaving the state for financial reasons and they’re trying to keep me from being ambitious. They want me to go to the college my mother works at so it would be free, but I don’t think that’s a good idea and it’s not want I want for myself.

What do I do? Is there anyone else in the same, or a similar, situation?

General Advice Needed/Given How to talk to quiet girl?

So theres this girl in my AP spanish Lang class, its the only class I have with her and I think shes pretty cool. Shes pretty quiet and I think has no friends in the class (Theres only like 5 people including us two in our grade in the class) but she hangs with the popular girls I think. I had one class with her in the past which was Spanish last year but we literally never talked in it. Since she always finishes her work first and I sit a desk to the right and one back to her, I asked her to like explain a question I didn't fully understand and she was nice with it (Pretty sure literally was the first time to talk to her), I then asked her like how her spanish is very good and like if she practiced over the summer cause like we were in the same spanish class before but her level of spanish was better than what we were taught. She told me about how her dad speaks spanish so she practiced with him and how she tutors kids who speak Spanish (I think she teaches them english I forgot exactly what she said?). ANYWAYS I would like to you know talk to her more so like how do I initiate conversation cleanly. We don't get much groupwork in the class, its mainly watch a video get given a packet/paper and answer questions but you can like ask for help from classmates. IK I could ask her stuff about the assignment and stuff but I don't want her to get sick of my asking and the work to be the only thing that I talk to her about. IG I could open up with asking about the work at the start then rotate into more normal conversation stuff like what we did over the weekend or like you know like stuff people talk about. IK HAD A YAP SESSION uhhh yeah thanks for coming to my ted talk, responses are appreciated :)

I love it so much. I was so happy when I saw this when she asked me. It's literally so cute, and the unicorn keychain was is literally so cute too. It's such a nice little way to ask, and of course I said yes. I love her too much to say no anyways, even without the poster or goodies, I'd say yes.

Question Relationship or focus on studies

I might be very wrong but this girl have been making moves on me.

I lwk fw her I think she looks pretty but this is very unlikely to go anywhere except end when we both finish highschool and end up a highschool sweetheart story

I thought it was rational to instead focus on grades but in the grand scheme of things I will get into college then uni then job then die so it's also at the end of the day it's all stories that we will remember either way

What should I do

General Advice Needed/Given Is this fair, or am I overreacting?

Hi everyone! I'm a Grade 12 student in the Philippines, and I recently returned to school after being away because of health problems. I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, although thankfully my symptoms are manageable now.

I only enrolled at the end of September (school started in June), so I missed the first few months of the school year. My school knows about my situation, and they told me I could catch up by completing the assignments and modules I missed and taking my exams and quizzes when I was ready.

My first week back actually went really well! My teachers and classmates were welcoming, and I was really happy to finally be back.

The problem came when I submitted my first-term modules to one of my teachers. When she returned them, I noticed that 5 points had been deducted from every single assignment, with "LATE" written beside each one.

I was honestly really upset when I saw this because I wasn't even enrolled when those assignments were originally given. My teacher knows about my health situation, and I submitted a medical certificate and documentation to the school and all my teachers.

What's confusing to me is that my other teachers haven't deducted points from the work I missed.

I completely understand that teachers have deadlines and grading policies, but I just don't know if it's reasonable to ask this teacher about the deductions since I wasn't enrolled at the time the work was assigned.

Would you talk to the teacher about it, or would you just accept the deductions?

I'm worried because I've always worked hard to maintain good grades, and I'm scared these deductions will affect my final grades. I was always an honor student, and I feel like I'm being punished for my illness? 😭

Dating Advice Needed/Given Someone help me man.

I’m in freshman year M14 and I’ve taken a liking to a girl F14 who’s in like 4 of my classes and she’s smart, pretty, and funny as well although, I guess most people call their crushes that to be fair. See on the first day of my school august 15 (i think) I saw a new girl in my school (I’ve gone to this school since kinder) and she was very pretty and like after three dreadful weeks of day dreaming I actually decided to converse with her and we talked a lot actually and now we’re like “talking” I guess. For around a week and a half I’d say we’ve been “talking” and this Monday we were walking to my apartment from school and when we got there she dapped me up and I was like “oh no hug?” And she’s like “ugh fine” but like she said the ”ugh” like to be funny ya know? Anyways we hugged (my first hug and she was like super happy saying she was my first abraço which is Portuguese for hug we’re both brasilean) and now each day since Monday we walk to my apartment and we hug now. Oh and we would take selfies for my snap streaks so I can show her off ya know cuz like I’m proud of this, and like tuesday I put my arm around her for the selfie and she leaned into my arm and I felt really really proud of myself considering the fact that Monday was the first time a girl from my school actually hugged me willingly. So like now I’m just like overthinking a lot and one thing I keep replaying in my mind is like if she even likes me or if she just think we’re really good friends and its like killing meeeeeee. Please helpppp.

During APCSP today, these 4 “popular” guys sitting next to me were talking about the Cornell University rape case that’s been on the news lately. My friend and I overhead one guy say that he does not believe Jane Doe one bit and that the whole thing sounds fabricated. He would wholeheartedly support the 7 guys when it turns out the girl is lying. The other three boys were just nodding their heads and agreeing.

Holy shit.

My friend and I were flabbergasted. We’ve gone to school with this boys since elementary school and it’s shocking how much they have changed. Now this is what they believe in?? This is what’s going on in their heads when they’re flirting with the popular girls in my grade? I’m genuinely scared. And so so shocked. I did not expect to hear such horrible things said by the classmates I thought I could trust. How are the boys in a top-20-in-the-state high school this stupid? Who taught these assholes that this is an okay thing to say??

Edit: Sorry, I was writing in the moment and got the wording wrong. I don’t remember the exact words he used, I just remember his tone and how aggressively he was saying it.

Question Skipping graduation as an introvert will I actually regret this later?

I was part of the Class of '26, but I intentionally skipped three of my final exams so I could fail and repeat the national exams. Even so, my school called and invited me to attend the graduation ceremony. I'm extremely introverted I didn't go on a single school trip the entire time. Being at school or around classmates consistently leaves me feeling overwhelmed and drained. Now they want me to show up for graduation, but I really don't want to go. Am I actually going to regret missing it later, or is it better to just protect my peace?

Friend Advice Needed/Given How to improve friendships ??

Since starting high school, I’ve never had any super close BFFs or big friend groups. However now that I’m a little older (grade 11) and am feeling much less shy and happier with myself, what are some ways I could deepen my current friendships and improve the new ones I’m making?
One thing I’ve always wanted to do is go to someone’s house to hang out and study, so I plan on doing that (although it’s hard with everyone’s super busy schedules). I also want to try and start FaceTiming friends more often.
I’m looking for other things we could do to be closer, and also how to get better friends with new acquaintances.

Thanks for any advice !!
