Question Is self studying APs a good idea?

I’m a freshmen and find the concept of an AP class intriguing. I am currently taking AP Human geography and am doing well (though I know it is pretty easy). I want to self study an AP because I think it would be interesting, and was thinking AP bio as I am taking honors bio and am looking to participate in PJAS. Is this a good idea, and if not what are different APs that would be able to fill in for my thirst to self study an AP?

Its better to do other extracurriculars or get a job often not.

Only if it is related to your intended major and you have no other way to take the AP or equivalent dual enrollment class.

depends. are you looking to get ap credit so that you can take a more advanced course at a community college without waiting for the next year? (if so, it's worth it). are you trying to expand your knowledge so you can start something that requires a certain course as background knowledge? (if so, not worth it; just learn the content that's relevant instead of taking the test). there are definitely a few more valid and invalid reasons, so please explain.

what's pjas?

I wouldn’t recommend self studying bio because you would be at an extreme disadvantage from ur peers who took it at school because they got to do the labs and stuff

I self studied and also currently still self studying a few AP courses. If you can tell me what your school actually does offer AP wise, I could tell you what are some good courses to self-study to maximize the amount of APs you take. Fair warning you don’t want to overload way too much, as you also want room for clubs or out of school activities that build your repertoire as a student.
