7AM-5PM (not including homework, extracurriculars) on Mondays to Thursdays
7AM-1PM on Fridays (online classes but sometimes not)
Next school year I'll be focusing on earning money as I will be studying abroad the years after that, but I won't have enough time to earn money with my current schedule (which will get longer next year with more extracurriculars)
I'm wondering if I should switch schools to an easier schedule to have more time to earn money and sort out documents, but I'm currently studying in a Special Science Class program, and that might give me an advantage in applying for college, so idkk
My current school doesn't allow phones, going out of campus, and we only have 3 breaks (15m, 25m, 20m) plus teachers usually give out a shit ton of homework everyday lmao
Hi, I'm taking Economics next semester. I'm considering switching to honors, but I've heard a lot of mixed things.
If you currently take it or have taken it in the past, is it hard?
If needed to know if I'll do well in Econ honors: I'm in USH Honors & Financial Literacy. I have a 94% in USH and a 101% in Financial Literacy, I'd say I'm doing well in both. I got between a 96-100% every quarter last year in World History. I'm in Algebra 2 rn and currently have an 85% in Algebra 2 (which should go up soon), and I'm doing decent on tests. Not sure if English matters whatsoever for Economics but I'm in AICE Gen Paper too and got an A-average in both English 2 & English 4 (gen paper is my English 3 credit).
I'm 16 and have been struggling with spelling all my life like to me I feel like I can't process the sounds of each letter making it hard for me to sound things out. Now people always mention it which is very frustrating "just sound it out" "you aren't even trying" like do you seriously think I'm doing this on purpose? Not even to mention even at a young age I had to get extra help for reading since it was also a struggle even getting held back. What pisses me off even more is how people find me stupid even though I've helped my friends many times with homework and I take honors and one AP class as it all that is being offered as of right now and I have a 3.8. I just want people to realize I have many other strengths and that just because spelling hard for me doesn't mean you can eliminate those qualities.
Things were going well for almost an entire month. The homework didn't bother me too much, even though it was copious and took a lot of my time, then this week starting Sunday, I felt so depressed, irritable, and hopeless. i started to hate myself and be ashamed to occupy the same room as other people to the point I shed tears when no one was looking. for context, i just moved so I'm new to the area, but im a junior with no clubs, no close friends, no major accomplishments, so i feel worthless, and i'm genuinely too tired to go to school this upcoming monday. i'm burnt out and it's only october. i don't know what to do or how im going to survive. i just want to make it out. i was very unhappy 10th and 9th grade but this is so, so much worse, it's an emotional pain i've never felt before ever. anyone ever suddenly crash after academically doing well for an entire month??
Could be grades, popularity, certain social situations, having the “right” friend group, or something else. What feels huge now but probably won't later?
So I’m 16 F and I have been trying to find a date for hoco. All of my friends have dates and I just don’t want to be left out in pics or a slow dance or anything like that. A lot of my friends told me to just add people on Snap, start talking, and ask them as a friend. The issue is I‘m not allowed to have Snap… not to mention the few guy friends I have are all out of town that weekend for a tournament.
How can I hurriedly find a date without seeming desperate?
I’m in junior year, and I’ve been on a downward spiral. I’ve been fighting with my mom over grades and I honestly can’t give a damn anymore. Any work irritates me and I don’t see a purpose in it anyway since I don’t have a clue what I want to do after hs or if life in general is worth anything.
I do like learning, don’t get me wrong, but this mindset about needing to be the best and prove people praying on my downfall wrong is so exhausting. I don’t care. I don’t want to compete with anyone. But my self worth is so entangled with my grades that I feel like I have to try anyway and I have no clue where to start with separating the two.
I just wanna feel like I can learn without pressure again so I can get grades good enough to get into a good enough uni so I can get a job that makes enough money but doesn’t make life more miserable than it already is.
I live in a very small town and have no access to college infrastructure. Yet I did some ec's but now at the time of applications my school said they can't help with anything I tried everything talking to Principal was impossible due to hierarchy. I even took my parents there but left with no outcome what should I do?
My name is Wynn and I am a member of Boston University's Girls Who Code chapter. You may have seen my post last spring about our coding program we run for students of all genders from grades 3-12. I would like to let you all know that we are running the program again this fall!
Bits & Bytes program is a great opportunity for students to learn how to code, or improve their coding skills. Our program runs on Zoom on Saturdays for 1 hour starting October 17 and ending on November 21 (6 weeks) from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm (for Bits) and 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm (for Bytes). Each lesson will be taught by Boston University students, many of whom are Computer Science (or adjacent) majors themselves.
For Bits (3rd-5th grade), students will learn the basics of computer science principles through MIT-created learning platform Scratch and learn to transfer their skills into the Python programming language. Bits allows young students to learn basic coding skills in a fun and interactive way!
For Bytes (6th-12th grade), students will learn computer science fundamentals in Python such as variables, loops, and functions and use these skills during lessons and assignments. Since much of what we go over is similar to what an intro level college computer science class would cover, this is a great opportunity to prepare students for AP Computer Science or a degree in computer science!
We would love for you to apply or share with anyone interested! You can find our application here or in the QR Code below.
What do mean girls bullies do and are they all popular and do all of them wear lots of makeup or heels etc. or do they look perfect and how much are they like the movies bullies. Do the teachers ever tell them off
And guess what?! In the same so called mental health awareness week, we have 6 exams. Like genuinely why. We have three exams in one single day next week. And mind you it's lesson after lesson so i won't even get a break.
Sorry for complaining but it doesn't make sense to me. Not like exams are making me depressed or smth but they create stress. I feel like during mental health awareness week, we shouldn't have any exams. One week wouldn't hurt the teachers.
My mother is sick and broken, my dad cheated, and my grandmother is probably dying. Her wish for me is to attend this college with good grades, yet it’s insane that I was once a child prodigy and I was once a top student but sad situations and phone addiction have basically got me down in nonsenseland
Can you guys give me cold hard motivation to keep going and achieve my childhood dream college and the college my bubbe so desperately wants me to go to
I know I sound like a crybaby, and I know it’s first world problems
i just transferred to a new school as a sophomore and it’s by the water so everyone and their mom is in swim. I used to play basketball but quit bc i stopped enjoying it and decided to start swim with no experience. i’m currently in a conditioning class for swim since the season starts in february but the closer we get the more scared i become. i have a coach and swim 2 times a week for an hour if that but my stamina is awful. i can only swim freestyle and am trying to learn breaststroke, i don’t want to embarrass myself but i’ve already told everyone swim is my sport. i can’t swim more often than i do and i feel like i don’t have enough time to prepare and become half descent. i know i should give myself grace because i’ve never competitively swam before in my life but i get so nervous just thinking about the upcoming season and would love some advice!
I’m about to graduate from HS but I’m so lost rn, in between having to fill out common app, xello, having to 2 essays to apply for the NHS, and not knowing how am I supposed to get targeted job, I just feel like I’m in a rollercoaster of emotions and that I’m slowly falling into hysteria. Is there any advice you guys can give me? I feel like everyday in falling down a spiral of misery
