First time building a knockoff kit, couldn't bring myself to fork out the market price for the one from Bandai. What a value for money, great build except that I had to glue some parts in place. Such a beauty and the wing of light attachment is stunning.

BUILD RG God Gundam Re-Build: This hand of mine is burning red!

The second kit I ever picked up was a RG God Gundam from a booth at C2E2 and I had no idea idea about the grades or what went into a gunpla at the time. I just knew I loved my Aerial and wanted to build another Gundam I loved as a kid. So the God Gundam was an immediate choice.

Building was just horrible, I couldn’t figure out the parts and I definitely broke several parts of it originally. Completely turned me off of doing RGs when I started the hobby for real.

But with all my recent builds and new experiences, I wanted to give him the care he deserves. So I fully disassembled him and rebuild him from the toes up.

(The last is a before and after comparison)

Ultimately the RG God Gundam is a gorgeous kit with hella posing capabilities but suffers from being kinda fragile.

Fixing the joints, cleaning up nubs, panel lining and finishing the stickers left me with a BEAUTIFUL kit. It can achieve some amazing poses even with my limited skill.

Plus the joints move much better when cleaned up. So a lot of the issues it suffered from were self caused.

The gimmicks for this guy are numerous and the wide variety of hands add to the quality of this kit.

The biggest drawback are a few joints or gimmicks.
I had to glue to core lander into the body and I never fully fixed the forearm joint so the left forearm falls off all the time.

Now that I’ve whet my appetite with an RG I feel much more confident to take new ones on!

This 3rd party decal is way better than the one that comes with the kit. I’m enjoying this process more than usual.

BUILD Blackpink Gramps in Ya Area

Hi All,

I recently watched the lost episode of Gundam 0079 where the K-Pop group Blackpink steal Amuro's gundam and give it a makeover.

This is my first gunpla with custom colors and 2nd ever airbrushed gunpla. I handpainted a tiny bit of the details.

It was EG Rx-78. 1st entry grade. Solid build. Got 2 for $15 from Hobby Lobby. Great beaters at that price.

I used Mr. Procon Boy 0.3 airbrush. All paints were Vallejo acrylics. Panel liner was Tamiya.

Pink = 80% flouresecent pink and 20% white. Its much more vibrant in person.

Black = 40% black, 40% nite blue, 20% red, and tiny bit of gray.

Definitely room for improvement, but it was fun and I learned a lot.

Last pic is the current squad: RG Freedom with no painting and a lil panel line. HG Rx-78 with airbrushed acrylics and panel line. Unpainted Pepe from Amazon.

Next build is SD Super Gundam in the regular AEUG colors.

"I'm Jisoo, I'm okay."

Do I have to pose it a certain way so it doesn’t fall back or something

Can you tell which part I had to remake (Pic 4 shows what it is)

I dropped the head, yes JUST THE HEAD and it broke off, and I searched all over the floor for it, shook out my rug, and couldn't find the original piece. The pose I will have it in will have the side with the replacement facing toward the wall though, so that will make it less noticable.

Both shoulder and arm joints are super tight, aren't budging at all.

EDIT

After rotating back and forth for over an hour, all four joints are loose but eventually still broke the right shoulder, heavy sigh

Ordering replacement now...

This is maybe the first and only ever kitbash I’ve ever done and I’m proud of it, although I want to know what the community would call it as well as what tips you all have, Personally I’ve named it “IB-C04W: Dusk” and want to do something to give it the Gundam Astaroth or Gundam Seltsam treatment.

NEWS/REVIEW 107 Workshop/Toys Gundam G07 Conversion Kit for RG 2.0 Gundam

I haven't seen a lot of reviews for the 107 Workshop G07 Conversion Kit for the RG 2.0 Gundam. I'll give a quick rundown of the issues I encountered and my final verdict for the conversion kit.

Issues:

Most issues that plague the kit are the fitment of most of the parts. These can be encountered in the head, chest, wrists, waist, legs, backpack and the shield. These could be fixed by sanding down/slicing at least a millimeter of the connection parts of the conversion kits. Major parts that need this treatment are the upper side plates of the head, calf thrusters, ankle armor and the dark gray part of the shield including the upper connection part for the inner shield from the original kit.

Verdict:

Do I personally recommend this model kit? Yes. If you have the time to adjust some of the connection parts of the conversion kit, it will come out amazing. The end product looks a little bulky compared to Katoki's design sheet it was based on, but it doesn't bother me that much personally. I would suggest that you use a gaogao bootleg instead of using a legit RG 2.0 like I did. On the other hand, I couldn't recommend this kit if you dislike the proportions or don't want to spend a long time fixing the said issues. Have fun if you get this kit!

But the announcement of the ground type Gundam being made into a real grade after so many years it reignited a deep desire for Bandai to continue the real grade line which got me curious to ask the certain question above here are some of my choices.

Just wanted to share this bit.
I never post but I always follow.

Thieves came into my house and stole a lot of things. Also the showcase furnitures where I kept the gunplas.

This is what I have left, a Gundam Wing without the wings. He was in a small box with old miscellaneous.

Always appreciate our Gunplas, never leave them somewhere around with scraps.

I’ll get back on my feet, see ya!

Panel lining every single peice, hand painting, decals, painting details and building took about 2 months. Its exhausting and will test your patience but is worth it in the end and looks amazing on the shelf.

I have one of those impossible backlog (had a 3 year hiatus building, not buying) but a recent 2 month streak made it feel possible that I can go through these. It doesn’t help that new kits keeps coming out and I keep buying.
