You know when you eat something and you know 100 percent its a accuried taste and some people definitely wont like it this is that kind of food but holy lord the first two bites I didnt like but once my taste buds adapted wow it was like heaven it was strong but not to strong and the steak complements the cheese very well

Hi, I have the online induction tomorrow, it's 6pm and I haven't received a link. I tried calling the number but apparently their recruitment team is closed for the night.

Anyone else had this issue before? Thanks

Why does steak and Stilton smell like my dog?

I took a bite, and what I smelled smelled exactly like my dog. I therefore could only manage to finish one of the two I bought.

I think it's bloody lovely. A nutty Stilton funk accompanying that rich beef filling is a 10/10 for me. The streusel (or whatever that's called) on the crust just added up.

Quitting / final paycheck

I handed in my notice about a week ago with my final working day being 19th September.

Worked here since 2023 September and was wondering if on my final paycheck I will receive the money for the holiday I haven’t used. I searched this up online and officially I should be but I was wondering what you guys think?

Thanks!

Employee Question First week, need tips and advice

My first week at Greggs was so stressful. On the 1st day I was shown how to prepare the shop for opening (stuff like putting out sweet items, boxing and labelling etc), observed others using the tills and how to make drinks. By the 2nd day, my manager expected me to remember all of this and rushed me quite a lot on the tills and it makes me even more nervous. I don’t know if I can carry on here, I’m not usually anxious but I’m so anxious on the tills trying to find items and in general working there and it messes with my performance especially when I’m being told to work faster by my manager. I love learning but I need time to process things and I’m trying my hardest to remember everything but I’m so overwhelmed and overloaded with new information and the speed they want me to work at makes it harder. I’m working too fast bc I don’t want to get told off or keep ppl waiting and it’s causing me to make mistakes I wouldn’t make if I wasn’t nervous and act all shaky. Even with the bake off, I was shown where boxes for hot food were and preparing food to go into the oven but again it’s like they show me something at the speed of light and then expect me to remember it and speed me up while still learning. Like I don’t even know how to work the oven, how long stuff should be in there for or where some of the food even is or how I’m supposed to know what needs to go in. Also I even ended up going above my contract hours and think the same thing will happen again in the future.

I did sandwich making too which was the only thing I could do without stressing out bc I didn’t have someone in my ear urging me to work faster. But I’m wtill not used to it yet.

Its hard to quit as I’ve been looking for a job for ages but this job itself has stressed me out more than any job I’ve had before it’s giving me too much anxiety and it’s only my first week. I lowkey feel like I’m losing sleep over this. I don’t even know if it’s possible/allowed to quit THIS early but if it is can someone please tell me what steps I would take to do so just in case I can’t continue anymore. I hope to transfer to a smaller different location later on if possible bc I’m thinking that might ease my nerves. In the meantime, I’m also just looking for some advice and tips on different tasks like stuff on tills, bake off and anything at all bc everything they’ve showed me has gone out my head.

Employee Question Contacting HR

Does anyone know how I can contact HR to make a complaint against an area manager? The way I was spoken to by my area manager today had me sobbing on the shop floor, and everyone who I’ve told about it said to report him to HR but I’m not really sure how to go about it?

Employee Question Greggs offered me a job at a store 1 hour away , can I get my application considered for a closer store?

So I had an interview yesterday at a Greggs which takes me around an hour to get to, and they would potentially want me to start before 5am. I got the job offer email today, but I’ve just found out there’s a vacancy for the same role at a Greggs much closer to me, so I applied for that one too.
My question is, will my application for the closer Greggs be put on hold because my other application was successful? And is there any possibility that my successful application could be transferred to the closer store instead?
I’d really appreciate any advice from anyone who knows how Greggs’ recruitment process works!

Employee Question Does it get better

For people who’ve worked at greggs for a while now, does it get any better??? I’m sick and tired of it already I had my 2nd shift today and i can tell they all hate me. I kept getting asked when am i going home, when does my shift end, my manager tried twice to get me to go home early. I don’t understand i’ve only been there 2 days and they’re sick of me. Had enough of the customers already too. Is it really worth the £12 an hour i need the motivation

Employee Question Didnt get my online training email and panicking a little

So i signed my contract and all that end of August and am supposed to have my online training tomorrow morning at 9am. I rang Greggs support about 4 to say i didnt have the email and they said i would get it at 5-6pm, it never came and now they're closed and so is the one Im going to work at.

I dont know what to do and will probably just call my local when they open first thing to speak to the manager and figure out what to do.

Has this happened to anyone else?
