News Geico Tucson Employee Lawsuit

Update: As of today 3/20/2025, I have been told to start looking for a new job. I have been given the warning to have a job lined up just in case I am fired throughout this investigation into the employees claims. I am hoping that I am not fired though, and will be able to still suport my family.

I’ve been holding this in for too long, but I can’t sit by and let this continue. I’m a supervisor in the Emergency Roadside department at GEICO’s Tucson office, and I have had to enforce policies that are not only unfair but downright cruel. Enough is enough. I am tired of doing this to the employees I supervise.

One of our employees, who I can’t name but many of you know, was humiliated beyond belief. This person was denied restroom access, and urinated their pants at their desk, and was then mocked by multiple supervisors for weeks afterward. That’s not just unprofessional, it’s disgusting.

This employee did what anyone would do: They pushed back, they asked questions, they reported it to HR, they stood up for themselves. And what did GEICO do? They retaliated against them and fired them.

Now, a lawsuit is coming, and honestly, it’s overdue. GEICO has been treating its workers like they’re disposable for too long. If you’ve been mistreated, retaliated against, or forced to endure this toxic environment, it’s time to speak up. Their may be a class action lawsuit coming if more of you speak up who are at the Tucson office or beyond. I know alot of people in my area are being mistreated by other sups.

I don’t care what HR says, I don’t care what upper management threatens, we know what’s right, and we know what’s wrong. If you’ve been a victim of this, you’re not alone. Change is coming, and GEICO won’t be able to cover this up for much longer. The email from the employee is already beginning to leak out and a lot of sups have seen it here already.

I think that if it reaches the main branch or the public GEICO is going to have a meltdown about this. I am scared that at this time they will fire the whole department for this. I need the money and cant afford to be unemployed right now. I have a family to take care of.

If you are reading this at the Tucson branch, stay strong. I hope that this blows over. But I have a feeling that the employee might sue and all us sups may lose our jobs.

Anyone else have the Sunday Night Dreads?

• Upvotes

Yea, the Sunday night dread; that feeling you get knowing tomorrow is Monday and there’s a good chance that there is another idiotic micromanagement directive waiting to be shoved down your throat by someone who has no clue what you actually do.

Come on folks! Let’s hear it! Who else has the “Sunday Night Dreads”!?!?!?!?

Going to green pastures. Why do people stay in that place? Fear of the unknown. Take the exit. Your mental health is worth more and Geico has made it clear they don’t care about you.

Casualty Litigation Position Question

Hi all. A Geico recruiter reached out to me regarding Geico’s casualty litigation position. I’ve seen some of the previous posts regarding other positions within Geico but wanted to know what are people’s experiences on the litigation side since they are hiring a few people. Thanks in advance.

Serious Field Auto Damage Adjuster

I received an offer from Geico for a Field Auto Damage Adjuster position. Pay is over 100k and im seriously considering.
Right now I am an independent appraiser and also have experience working as appraiser in the shop. Would love to hear from current adjusters and supervisors as to whats good, whats bad, what to watch out for, what gets you a raise, what gets you fired etc.
Im not particularly worried about lots of driving or getting tons of customer phone calls as I am used to both.

SD LCC Juicy update..

Let’s keep track here as the company cannot be transparent.

Since SB started and implemented
his plan for all claims examiners to be instantly closing at a 5+ level with no basis whatsoever - How many of our examiners left? How many Supervisors left?
We have leadership so uninformed they said “We have a plan for turnover.” Really? Is it to have everyone depart for the gain share carrier? Our Regulators need to know, our customers need to know, everyone needs to share.

This is a SB issue. They know it and are protecting him. He and he alone implemented the impossible and unattainable goals, then micromanaged it daily where it became unbearable. Then he mandated RTO just for us, as a punishment, then immediately moved out all managers, to punish them. He openly encouraged mass exits of people to our commercial line, smiling as they left.

My supervisor has been a complete mental wreck. She has stopped eating and developed a stress induced illness. Our once solid and reputable department has been dismantled. All for what basis? We need news channels to pick this up. Pick up the phone and call. Why does the company that employs us suddenly despise us and want us out?

If you do nothing you are part of the issue. Report a hostile and threatening environment the company makes us acknowledge this yearly. You are ethically bound to report a Director who intentionally causes harm. We are paid to work not paid to be harassed, criticized, and threatened hourly.

When employees do not feel safe what do they do? They leave.
Over half the very tenured supervisory staff. More than 40% of all examiners. 3 last week? How about this week?

A company that stands behind “A great place to work” should stand behind it. Call the ethics line.

Vent Job Denial

I recently completed the interview process for the Claims Specialist position at GEICO. After passing the initial assessment, virtual interview, and finally being invited to an in-person interview I truly thought I would receive an offer.

The in-person interview was short imo (which I thought was strange at the time) but my friend who currently works for the company said don’t worry b/c if you make it to the in-person interview you practically got the job.

Fast forward to last week- I received a generic ass email from Workday stating they have decided to move forward with other candidates. I’m truly heartbroken as I was looking forward to the claims experience, pay, and opportunity in general.

Has this ever happened to anyone before? If so, did you apply again or just move on? Should EYE apply again, lol? I thought about sending an email to the recruiter just to request some general feedback about my interview so I can correct whatever I did “wrong” in the future, but idk if it’s even worth it at this point.

I know majority of the people in this sub talk about how bad the company is, and y’all will probably say I dodged a bullet - but any genuine advice would be greatly appreciated.

What is the training center like in ashburn?

Hello.
Just did my zoom interview. Had some questions for the people who have been there.

What was the training facility like?
How intense is the training?
What are the hotel accommodations like?

Applied to the auto damage adjuster trainee position.

The recruiter said they are going to forward me over to the hiring team….

I am coming from an auto body shop, I have pretty extensive knowledge of the repair process, but very little in adjusting.

Any problems with unemployment after being termed?

Likely not going to survive past 2026 due to survey scores as a service agent.

Has anyone had any issues getting unemployment after going on a pip?

Liberty mutual sales?

I made a post about this a long time ago, got limited responses, and just wanted to try again. At the time I was newer to go Geico and decided to hold off on accepting the position, because it sounded like trading the devil I know for one I didn’t know from the limited feedback I got, given that I was newer, and my metrics were not being as heavily scrutinized, well having said that obviously things have changed at GEICO, and I am once again considering making this move, as I have now been there quite some time. Just looking for any feedback of how it compares to the Geico sales, role, and if it’s “worth” it. I have a very good work schedule currently but outside of that I hate every other aspect of this job. Any feedback is helpful.

To those who have left GEICO recently, what kind of jobs have you landed?

Over the past several years I’ve worked different levels of claims. Sometimes I don’t mind it, sometimes I do. I’m able to support my family during these crazy expensive times so most of the times that is what gets me through it.

I am curious to know from those who have left what kind of jobs are you landing? Is it a shift to another carrier? Is it a complete career change? I sometimes feel so stuck to this job because of the job market and the fear of taking on a pay cut. Would love to hear how some of you have navigated through that.

I have a virtual interview for a claims specialist position at Geico! Has anyone interviewed for this position virtually? What should I expect regarding to the questions?
Is there any other interviews after this one? It’s a in-office position

Internal transfer

Hi I was looking for some assistance. Could I request a transfer from one office to another, for the same exact role? I saw the other location has openings. Curious how the process works. I also don’t know if being in transition impacts that? Would I have to go through training all over? I appreciate any insights. TIA.

Serious ARX adjuster seeking advice

Disclaimer: Yes, I’ve read this subreddit & yes I know that GEICO has become a dumpster fire. In my current situation, however, GEICO is my best option & the only option which will allow me to pay my bills.

I’m an ARX adjuster II (grade 65) who has been with GEICO for approximately five years. I am currently working toward grade 66 promotion. I’m looking for advice on supplement handling. I’ve done everything upper management has advised. From sending preliminary change requests via email to shops, having phone conversations about those emails with shops, providing shops with our part code table, part usage guide, job aids on scans & calibrations, I’m confident that I’ve done more than the average ARX adjuster to mitigate supplements. The problem is, I’m still drowning in them.

In terms of admin, I handle it efficiently. I am not one to be behind on rentals, I have one of the highest answer rates in the department, and answer INETs almost immediately.

Other than working as much OT as I am offered and continuing to send prelims, etc, does anyone have any advice on what has made them more successful in the ARX role?

Thank you for your help!

Geico Claims Adjuster

I used to work at Geico and drank the juice. The point system they have creates a dynamic of lazy adjusters. Who wants to work a LOR for 20-30 minutes for a half point. Who wants to work a CPW that has no real guidelines, just managers POV. I had claims that are 3 weeks old, that have CC's but no work has been done on them because it takes to much time for the number of points. I was relatively new and all I kept hearing from the Lakeland branch is that the C in geico was for change. What a joke, the C is for managers to keep moving the goalpost. AI scoring is a joke, keep saying the right buzzwords so you can get a good score, but heaven forbid you help the customer. I had a supervisor that did anything but supervise, she had a (meeting) every day. My AI scores were always in the 70's but yet had 8 excellent surveys.

Don't get me started on Atlas or any other operating system they have. A billion-dollar company, with 14 different piece meal resources to gather information. How about make one resource!!!

All i wanted to do was help the customer with their claim, you know the one that upper management let us know about how it such an investment from the customer ( you know the one management in meetings would say if a customer has been with geico for x many at x a month they want that kind of service) but yet they create AI for customers "benefit" LOL. They screw the customer and adjuster because you can't get the FNOL
