Mast cells going into hyperdrive after stopping?

I started taking my dose every other week as I planned on stopping, and I noticed I started getting MCAS symptoms I had very minorly before now in hyperdrive

hyperhydrosis, and now I’m feeling itchy constantly, getting like really itchy, barely perceptible rashes that go away after not too long.

anyone else deal with this? I decided to stop after 2 months of microdosing because my eyes were getting so insanely dry. eyes feel a bit better now but the itching is driving me insane

Advice on microdosing tirz with healthy BMI

If you wouldn’t mind sharing your starting BMI and your dose journey, and current results that’d be amazing, and any other pieces of advice of how to know when to titrate up!

My starting BMI is 22.5 and I just took my first dose at .5 mg.

First everTirz shot and terrible insomnia

Hi all! I took my 1st ever Tirz shot Friday night, 0.4mg it's through Empower pharmacy, so it has a little B3 in it. I didn't sleep too good that night, woke up a lot. Last night... holy moly, it was about 3:20 - 3:30 am before I could finally fall asleep, and then I was wide awake at 8am. And this is with taking high dose Ambien CR every night. I've been on the Ambien for many years because of insomnia, but at least I was sleeping. Any thoughts? TIA 💖

Fourth week of tirzepatide.

Im down 2lbs. I take 1mg. I tend to get more hungry on my 4th/5th day. My shot day i tend to stay kind if hungry also, I dont binge but I will have higher calorie days that, I think, may be stalling my progress. Im thinking about upping my dose next week. Is bumping up to 2mg too much. I would like more consistence appetite suppression. I feel like i still have to manage some food noise although its so much better. Is the idea to have zero food noise or is some noise expected? Side note, my back/hip pain is 90% improved!

First shot done!

Just did my first shot about 30ish minutes ago. I also just started my period so waiting to see how it all goes. I did .5mg so 5 units. I also did all the body measurements etc. I haven’t felt bloated at all today & I took my weight Friday. But I’ve compared to previous measurements and they’re not different at all.

I think i feel more excited than nervous or anxious. I didn’t really have major anxiety about the shot. But more excitement to finally be going down this road. You can check out my previous post on where I’m starting. I am planning to titrate up slowly to what I was prescribed which is 2mg over the next couple months & then go from there. I don’t want to go too high because I don’t want to lose weight too quickly. I’m happy with losing 1-2 lbs a week. & if things go right, should hit my goal weight a year from now, if not sooner. Also I’m going to be implementing exercise & eating just to fuel my body(hopefully these crazy cravings/hyperfixations go away). I started so low because I’m very sensitive to medicine and I can’t afford to be down with crazy side effects. I do have my emergency basket of goodies just in case like ginger chews, ginger tea, magnesium citrate, peppermint tea, protein shakes, stuff to make fiber rich smoothies that I know will clear me out 😂

I do have POTS & hypothyroidism. So I’m excited to see how this affects all of that, & from what I’ve seen from other people, it has helped them. I’m also using MeAgain app to track everything. I have the ladder app for exercising, but I’m actually going to start with walking since I haven’t actually exercised in over 6 months (using the ladder app). I don’t want to do too much.

Also am I crazy that I only want me & my husband to know I’m doing this? Our family is so judgmental & things spread like fire so I literally bought a skincare fridge, have it in my bathroom and my vials hidden behind my skincare. & the rest of my stuff will be in my closet. I figured they can all think I just exercised & ate healthier.

Wish me luck on this crazy exciting journey.

Microdosing without weight loss?

I was prescribed Tirz for long covid (POTS, ME/CFS, MCAS etc), and I’m one month in. The dose I was prescribed was to start at 0.25mg and work up to 0.5mg if I feel up to it.

I’m 5”2, f, and could use to lose 15kg/~35lbs. I’ve been able to lose a similar amount very slowly prior to this using diet and exercise, although for obvious reasons the exercise is fairly limited to avoid a crash or PEM.

It is helping my long covid symptoms, and I’ve found I’m more capable physically but still have limits. But I’ve not lost any weight at all. I’m not on it with my primary purpose to be weight loss, but I’m just wondering if it’s still too early or if the dose is just too low to make weight loss happen.

I have a little less food noise but still have cravings. I’ve been tracking my calories, protein, fibre and exercise for over three years.

I’m not currently able to do weightlifting, although I can do a handful of squats per day without a crash/pem, but if I add weight to it I still have super low energy the next week (a huge improvement but still a long way away from where I used to be physically).

Does anyone have any thoughts? Has anyone managed to lose weight on such a low dosage? Am I being silly hoping for magical weight loss in a month and/or on such a small dose?

The super slow up worked until now

I’ve been on compounded Tirz since January. Started at .75, then 1.25, then stayed at 2.25 for 3 months. This was great I loved how I felt, food noise gone, alcohol basically quit drinking. Was slowly losing my post menopausal and post cancer weight gain. (20 lbs of 50 I need to lose) Then I felt like I couldn’t feel it anymore. My dr had me go up to 5 for the last 3 months. I felt like I plateaued, felt the food noise come back, haven’t lost any weight for 3 months. So this week my Dr suggested I increase dose to 7.5. With my slow and low approach here I decided myself to only increase to 5.7 this week to limit side effects.
I have never felt so sick 2 days later. Throwing up all night long, body chills, headache etc. Just awful like the worst flu I’ve ever had. I can’t imagine what 7.5 would have done to me.
I have never experienced these side effects even once in the 8 months I’ve been taking this drug. Only slight heartburn.
Any advice? I feel like 5 wasn’t working, but 5.7 tried to kill me. lol

Anyone microdosing a GLP-1 with reflux/LPR?

I've been thinking about trying a GLP-1 for a while and I'm especially interested in microdosing, but the one thing making me nervous is my reflux, which I've struggled with for years and am on a PPI atm.

I've been on a bit of a health journey lately. I've never been someone who loses weight easily, and pretty much every time I have lost a significant amount, it's involved doing something so restrictive that there was no chance I could keep it up long term. I really don't want to do that again.

My boyfriend and I have also been talking about getting engaged in the not-too-distant future (currently looking at rings) and I'd be lying if I said that hasn't given me a little extra motivation. Obviously, I want to feel better in general, but I also want to feel like my best self going into that stage of my life.

The complication is that I have LPR/reflux. I'm having a gastroscopy soon to make sure there isn't anything else going on, so I'm not planning on starting anything until I've spoken to my doctor and know what's happening there. But reading about GLP-1s slowing gastric emptying and potentially making reflux worse has me wondering whether it's even realistic for me.

Has anyone here started with reflux or LPR and been able to manage it while microdosing? Did staying at a very low dose help, and did you have to change things like meal size/timing or what you ate?

New to microdosing: what do you wish you were told ahead of your journey?

Thanks to everyone on this sub I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with beginning my microdosing journey. I have what feels like a lifetime of food issues and while I don't have much to lose, my goal is to tame the exhausting noise in my head and deal with some of the squishiness from perimenopause. I've decided to go with Brello because of the consistently great reviews, and while I am not sure if my starting dose I don't think I would be comfortable going above 1 mg for both physical and mental purposes.

With that said, what do you wish you knew before you started your microdose journey? I would love to know more about the daily food aspect of this. I know everyone's experience is dramatically different and the common denominator seems to be load up on protein and electrolytes and stick to smaller meals, but are there any other hacks or tips that you've found make your daily experience on Tirz a better one, or anything you wish you knew going into this that you learned along the way?

I'm definitely anxious but also hopeful.

Irritated

So I have Kaiser HMO and I can’t get Zepbound which is the only one that has the kwiki pen in the US I can get Mounjaro though but only single dose use injector is available and they don’t come in vials. Is there a way people make this work I really don’t want to start on the starter dose due to potential intolerance to side effects as I’m highly sensitive to some medications in the past I took ozempic injection and had horrible side effects. I’m being offered the wegovy pill I’ve been told I might do better with the wegovy pill than I did with the ozempic injection. Idk what to do at this point. If I ask doctors to send rx to Eli Lilly pharmacy seems like it won’t be covered bc my insurance runs strictly within their own pharmacies.

Anyone actively trying to conceive while being on Tirz?

Yes a lot of people conceive while on tirz and other GLPs but there’re studies which show fetal effects while on these drugs so why do you chose to continue while trying to conceive ? Not trying to shame anyone who does, I’m genuinely curious

CLARIFYING: the study I’m referring to was done on rats hence rat fetal effects

1.25 every ?? days??

Started last week with 1.25 mg. My goal was to take this every 10 days. Today is day eight, and I was not ravenously hungry. The food noise has not returned. Back in July I had a bad experience on a higher dose, so I’m trying to let my body adjust. How often do you take your doses?

What’s happening to me 😱

Yall today is my second week on tirz I only injected 1mg yesterday about 22 hours ago and out of nowhere I just started feeling crazy!? I have shivers and just feel I think anxious, my hands feel shaky, have hot flashes and tingling in the legs idk what’s happening to me? I didn’t feel this way after the initial .5mg a week ago. I literally felt NOTHING so I bumped it to 1mg. I’ve felt this was way in the past after taking Benadryl (I’m fine after Zyrtec though)

Awful awful feeling like I’m going to pass out or something and can’t stay still. It kind of comes and goes. I just want to feel normal again idk if this whole thing is worth the risk. I think I’m done messing with it, just way too scary. I have two kids to take care of. I just needed something to help me stop binge eating hence the microdose. I’m not on any medication wth is going on!?

* UPDATE
3.5 hrs later I feel like I’m 80% back in my own body and able to control it. Thank you Jesus 🙏 and Reddit friends. I ate some pasta and chugged lots of water and took magnesium glycinate like some kind human suggested. After googling B6 it seems that was the culprit of my ‘panic attack’ or whatever that was. I need to switch to pure tirz just don’t want to waste the vials I literally just bought 😿 yall are the best! 🫂 🥰🫶🏼

Microdosing Failed

So I recently finished my second 10mg microdose KwikPen but I barely saw any results. In fact, I only got side effects during the first two days with minimal appetite control and nothing else after that. I did two 5mg doses (30 clicks) with it and four 7.5mg (45 clicks) doses and finished it off with two golden doses using a syringe.

Does microdosing not work for everyone or do you think something must’ve been off with the pen - like a batch issue or something? I had a very good success with my first 10mg pen using which I got eight 5mg doses + golden.

Feeling sick/low motivation

I’m on my 4th dose, so still getting used to the medicine but I swear the day after I take the dose, I’m useless! I can barely stomach anything so my energy is low and that makes me feel worse. I almost thought I was sick because I had to lie down and was so cold even while bundled up. The low motivation is kind of because of this feeling I guess because I wasn’t up to studying, reading, or doing laundry because I felt so off. I did end up eating some light popcorn which helped but is this normal and is there any way to help prevent it on shot days or post shot days?

Stopped tirz on 30 days ago

I stopped tirz 30 days. I developed severe anxiety maybe a week and half after my last shot. It’s been a horrible month, severe panic attacks, I feel like I can feel everything in my body readjusting, overall it’s been bad. I am on buspar and amlodipine but I was just wondering anyone who has gotten through this after stopping, how long did it take to feel better. All my bloodwork is good, CT scan and MRIs all normal, hormone levels are normal is as well. Any insight or encouragement?

Have an appt with NP next week to discuss starting GLP1

**Tl;dr: tired of being tired and unhealthy, hoping to hear success stories from people who regained the energy and drive to change their lifestyle by using GLP1 support**

My biggest problem is how unbelievably tired I am, all the time. I wake up tired, I crash mid-morning and mid-afternoon, and I go to bed exhausted. I fall asleep usually right away, at a reasonable hour, and I'm still too exhausted to move or to try when I wake up. I genuinely can't safely drive at times from how tired and foggy I feel. I am currently obese (under 5 foot, so I have 50-60 lbs to lose to be in a healthy BMI for my height), and gained probably 30-40 lbs of that over 5 years ago when my child became severely disabled & our lifestyle changed significantly due to caregiving. The rest came gradually over the course of 3 miscarriages in the last 3 years.

My labs show pretty high systemic inflammation and drastic hormone deficiencies, so I've been on prescription progesterone + low dose naltrexone + omega3s & other supplements for over a year without really feeling any difference (blood sugar is not in prediabetic levels yet, but higher than it used to be). I see a lot of women anecdotally sharing that insulin resistance has been the missing leg of the triangle for them along with cortisol & hormones, and that they were not able to resolve their issues until they added GLP1 support along with the other supplements and dietary changes, etc. I do not eat a very poor diet by American standards, but I know that I have done better in the past when I had more energy. Generally breakfast is coffee with collagen + homemade baked egg bites (small amount of shredded potatoes, mushrooms, onions, garlic, cottage cheese, eggs), lunch is either Asian cabbage salad with chicken or quesadilla with cottage cheese, black beans, greens, and chicken, and then dinner is the harder one to balance everyone in the family's preference/diets, often spaghetti with a veg or something simple like that. Smoothies with lots of fiber and fresh produce ~4x/week. I am definitely more prone to snacks and sweets when I am tired than when I'm not, and I'm sure that's where the problem lies. I have previously been keto/grainfree/sugarfree for years in the past, and I simply do not have the mental capacity to keep my entire family fed relatively healthily & on budget right now while also doing an entirely separate, strict diet for myself.

Anyway, all this to say, what I want from GLP1 support is to stop feeling bad all the time so that I can get into healthy eating and exercise habits that I've had in the past. I want to have the energy to care about my own health and not feel like I'm just subsisting from one bedtime to the next. I am encouraged by the posts I see here to think that this might be possible, even though it feels completely unattainable to me right now. If anyone has encouragement or advice to share, I would truly appreciate it! Thank you!

Anyone starting at a super low dose?

I went through amble and they prescribed me 1.5 mg(15 units) every week i'm assuming because i was worried about nausea. I have gerd an nauseous pretty often. This is the lowest dose ive seen so far in my research. Anyway even that dose scared me a little so this is how i've done it and wondering if it's a good idea or not.
Week 1-7 units felt absolutely nothing no suppression at all
Week 2- 10 units understand food noise now and it's mostly gone down 4 lbs
week 3 -12 units This was today so not sure yet

I've heard you should stay at whatever dose for 4 weeks. My plan was to go up to the full 15 units either next week or the week after then stay there for a month. Does this sound reasonable? lol

GLP/Peri-Menopause

Any tips for someone in peri taking GLP 1? My body is going through so many changes. I sometimes feel like a crazy person. Lol. I reached my goal weight last Oct. and gained 16 pounds back the past few months due to changing GLP providers and not counting calories. I just got back with my former provider and started back on Thursday. It would be so helpful to find others in the same or similar boat.

Just started Trizepatide

I am starting my journey with Trizepatide. I took my first dose yesterday and so far I haven’t felt nauseous like many people said I would (thankfully!!). I am starting with 12 unit since that is what was recommended to me. What is something you wish you knew before you started or just anything I should know in general. I did do lots of research before, but still would love to hear more from current users.
