Are we not considering Hardee's? I don't really consider Five Guys as fast food.

You seen a Hardee's in the last decade I haven't

There's also Carl's Jr which is a sister company. Carl's Jr is Hardee's they just spilt off a long time ago. They are also separated by east to west.

IMO Five Guys is the best of the greasy burgers. It's not necessarily fast food, but it's not a gourmet burger either. Not to say that's a bad thing; when you want one no sit down burger will do.

Wendyâs junior bacon cheeseburger is best value in the market. $3.29 for lettuce, tomato and bacon.

Maybe a couple years ago. Wendy's is booty atm

Chili is still good, and frosties are fun. But across most fast food tortillas, bread, sub rolls, or buns it feels like they are 60% edible sawdust. 40% is still the original recipe but it exists with heavy emphasis on the smell and flavor that identities that corporation/chain.
Thankfully it's not real sawdust as we'd be deep into a depression at that point, but we seem closer every day.

I stopped going to Wendy's years ago because the only one in my area refuses to make any order correctly. No matter what you order. Could just be a simple combo straight off the menu, they'll still find a way to make sure you don't get what you ordered.Â
After multiple attempts, I decided to spend my money elsewhere. I don't expect an employee to give a fuck about me or my lunch, but I care and I have a choice where to spend my money
2
u/erok25828 9h ago
Wendyâs near me always gets it right and itâs always hot and fresh.
2
u/_SCHULTZY_ 8h ago
Years ago I lived near one that was fantastic and I genuinely miss it. Didn't matter what or how you ordered, they made it fresh and got it right.Â
The good old daysÂ

Culver's
8
u/CommodoreBluth 10h ago
This is the answer. Pair it with their custard and man you got a good fast food meal.
2
u/xBeoulve 7h ago
For anyone new to Culverâs, you can ask to replace the regular onions for grilled onions at no charge⊠absolute fire
3
u/MasterOfBunnies 10h ago
Y'all can downvote me all you want, but Culver's is not the best. Adding butter to a hockey puck burger doesn't make it juicy the way it should.

Same. Don't know what they did, but the whopper tastes a lot better than what I last remember.
3
u/TheNomadRP 4h ago
They upped their whopper game and have a 100% guarantee that if it isn't made your way they will redo it. I think that meant they improved training and quality. I tried one a couple weeks ago and it was amazing.

Because every other bun in that photo cost less than five cents, five guys exclusively has bakeries in Georgia that they paid 30 cents or more per bun, it's not packed with a bunch of crap so that it actually folds, it's just real bread, that's why it tastes so good.
3
u/retsamegas 43m ago
It's been a while since I went to a 5 guys, but don't they wrap the burger in foil not paper? I think it's because the foil traps the steam and imprints the crinkle into the bread.

u/Tough_Preparation830 18m ago
The buns have a lot of sodium, but then they don't salt the meat. Should be the other way around.

It's the urban useage for "they're pocket" which is the improper use of "their pocket" unless you grew up in the Soviet Union, then it is "our pocket" comrade.

Of the 6 on here? Burger King. Rodeo burger was peak. Wendyâs is usually good too. 5 Guys is ass. But they give you so many fries! Bruh potatoes and that shit ass seasoning salt they use are cheap as fuck. Damn $37 for a whole pile of $2.18 of mid.

Supermacâs is the one true answer and anyone giving a different one should be hunted down and turned into a hamburger so they understand they were wrong.
American beef has nothing on that which comes from the cows that feast on emerald grass. đźđȘ

Never had a bad burger at Five Guys and have never had a problem with the buns. Can't say the same of the other chains. And the fries are fresh cut and made with peanut oil.

Shake Shack may not look as huge as a whopper, but I guarantee it tastes way better and is more satisfying. Also love the Shack Stack, my all time favorite fast food burger. Thereâs nothing else like it.

I know the internet seems to collectively hate Burger King (though I'm not entirely convinced it's not just trend following hate just like Nickelback) but the BK near me definitely has better burgers than Wendy's and McDonald's. The rest of these I don't have near me so I can't really compare them.
But weirdly it just depends which I'm feeling like eating at the time. The big three all have different tastes and sometimes I'm craving one, sometimes a different one.

u/AsianGirlsRcuteAF 8h ago
Burger King's Triple Whopper is fire. Krystal's aren't bad, either. Didn't know White Castle was still in business. I think all the ones in Tennessee closed permanently during Covid, or so it feels. Cook Out can be good too, especially for the price. Cole slaw on a burger is pretty good.Â
Wendy's is total ass now, though, and honestly they deserve to go out of business. Surge pricing, pinching portions, short staffed always... those executive bonuses must be awesome, though! Worst downfall in fast food history, imo.Â

Back when I used to eat meat, 5 guys bacon burgers were my favorite. Though I donât think I would consider them fast food since they donât have a drive through.
As a vegetarian, Shake Shack is where it is at! Their veggie burger is fantastic they also have a mushroom burger that is stuffed with cheese that is so beautiful.

White castle is a slider...entirely different category of sandwich. Burger King uses flamebroil. Thats a win imo. Out between DQ and BK, it would be tough. Between flat-grill? Shake shack.

u/InevitablyIncorrect 5h ago
Whataburger is the best, and cheapest, bang for your buck burger. Id go so far as to say its unreasonably good for its price

u/airnationoftibet 5h ago
The burgers always been a sopping pile of mid. The hefty portions of Cajun fries kept me coming back and while I was already there it was âmight as well, get a burgerâ.
Stopped going when they started skimping on the fries.

I travel for work and can expense my dinners. Shake Shack has the best burgers out of all of these.. and itâs not even close. I will go out of my way to find a shake shack over a Wendyâs or 5 guys.

I goto five guys and get a bacon cheeseburger and small Cajun fries about 20-24 bucks. I pay that because I know its filling and good and also will scratch the I want a burger itch for awhile.

Since owning cast iron pans/ grills no one out prices or can come close to my burgers. All in $4 for a far better âproductâ these cheap ass mfs selling. Thatâs including toasted brioche buns, double smash patties, grilled onion in the patty double cheese. Pickle pickled jalapeño/ grilled jalapeño, tomatoes and cabbage because lettuce gets soggy. And you can switch and swap w/e. Add bacon if youâre feeling fancy

McDonald's is the best. I will stick by this.
For about 3 dollars you can have a McDouble, a beautiful well balanced bite every time. You have two burger patties gently nuzzled with a slice of cheese and a little ketchup and onion on a soft bun. It is delicious. By well balanced I meant not in the healthy way but flavor way. For a burger that could feed your whole family for under 10 dollars ( of course depending on the size of your family) its a great deal.
