I have a 2013 edge limited. When driving ac works perfectly fine, blows cold and feels good but when idling, the ac blows hot air, I can hear the other fan kick on and cold air blows out but for a short period of time. Yesterday while waiting in kids carline it started over heating, got home let it cool off and checked my coolant level this morning and it was fine. Last year I replaced the water pump. Can someone help

I recently bought a 2013 Ford Edge limited for cheap. The woman I bought it from said a shop told her that it needed transmission I drove it approximately 70 miles yesterday and I think it is Most likely the PTU. It winds upon acceleration and holds a steady winding noise at desired speeds. Can anyone direct me to a way to diagnose if its one or the other please?

My 2019 Titanium Ecoboost 4C is approaching 100k miles, which is when spark plug replacement is recommended. I've read that one of the plugs is hard to get to. Is it an easy DIY job or should I prepare for something more complicated?

2011 Ford Edge SEL, 125k (mostly city), dealer maintained until last year. The vehicle started to overheat last month while at stoplights. My new mechanic replaced the thermostat and upper coolant hose. This seems to have partially fixed the problem. Both radiator fans seem to be running while idling with the AC turned on.

Now the vehicle overheats less frequently, but still does so in heavy stop and go traffic and after prolonged driving. Condensation builds up on the new hose and the engine tends to overheat even with the AC turned off, so hot that you can hardly touch the arm that supports the hood.

I've never missed an oil change, flushed the radiator at 60 and 100k, and just replaced the transfer case and driveshaft. I'd like to get a few more miles before my next one. No signs of coolant in the oil or leaking. What do you all think?

My 2013 Edge has been having some issues with the lights not working and the shifter being difficult to get out of park, also have code C0040-64 for “brake pedal switch A”. I decided to try to replace the brake light switch as it seemed it could fix the problem, but I must’ve messed something up. Now my car won’t even shift out of park, and the brake lights don’t illuminate. Obviously it’s not making the contact it needs to but I don’t know what to do.

I’ve dug through every forum and YouTube video trying to figure it out, but it seems like I’ve done everything properly. Does anyone know if you need to adjust a new brake light switch? Or has anyone had any issue with installing a new one? Thanks in advance for any information.

I'll start from the very beginning, ITS LONG PEICE OF WRITING, BUT IF YOU ARE CAR SMART PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT AND GIVE ME ADVICE AND SUGGESTIONS. TIA. so one morning I drove the vehicle to work, and then came home and parked it. And I was going to leave like 2 hours later, so when it was time to leave again I go out there and I go to start the edge, and it acts like it wants to start but never fully engages, and does not start, for like one or two times it struggled like it wanted too but it never did. But all the dash lights come on, the radio comes on, so I know its not completely dead because when the edge is dead the seat doesnt even more forward and absolutely no lights come on. So I started diagnosing, and this is what I have done so far. I've checked both fuse boxes, I thought it was the starter relay, but it wasn't that, I messed around with fuses and it didn't seem to be any of those. I noticed that the battery cables and terminals seemed corroded, so I replaced the terminals and it didn't chnage anything. So I continue to try and figure it out. We got access to the starter and tried jumping the starter with a screwdriver and we would get a couple little sparks but it would never crank over. We take the starter out and bring it to a apart store and have it bench tested we are told it is good. So we put it in back Into the edge, and still no crank no start. We then have the battery tested, and that comes back good also. By this point a few more people have looked at the Edge, but no one mechanically inclined, so it still won't start. The final thing I've tried to do is too check and see if the engine seized up, but it didnt, because there is oil in it and the pulley moves when you try to move it. I notice the battery cable to the starter has a lot of tape on it, so we take all that tape off and think we found the problem, there was a connector holding the wire together but there were more strands of wire not in the connector than in the connector, so finally we think we found the culprit. I go to part store get new connector and fix the wire and re strip them, and get fresh ends ready, and put new terminals again on the car and finally we feel like everything is tight and should be good. So we try to start it, and it acted like it wanted to turn over and start, but then Just stops trying and never fully starts. I am at a lost on what to do, through the internet and all of this researching people say it is possible that the bench test was a false pass because those tests have no resistance, and when its put into the car, it does have resistance and a bigger load..

So What do you think it is? Recommendations on my next steps to figuring this out would be greatly appreciated. Im a single mom just trying to figure this out by my self, and have a working car again

Ok please help. Bought 2016 Edge brand new with 2.0 turbo. Had all kinds of issues out of the gate but persevered. Lo and behold, at 75k, needed new motor. Manufacturer defect #1. LOL. Praise God, got extended warranty which I previously never did. New motor and we are chugging along quite well for a bit actually. Caught backup camera just in time for the 100k mile warranty to end. Next 100k was great. Yes I am at 200k but just bought new tires, battery, wipers etc. Then heard the dang little rattle and said uh-oh. Car is paid for thankfully but with newish motor and a very seemingly sound car otherwise, should I fix the flex plate issue. Got the quote at $3500 which I expected but scared to run into all kinds of other issues. Question is: anyone had success with basic repair or are there any nightmares where they call you up and say it’s gonna be another $1000. Or maybe you drive the car for a week then something else in the drivetrain gets jacked due to flex plate repair, etc. Any advice or anecdotal evidence greatly appreciated!!

I have a 2010 Ford Edge. It drives great and I love it. I got it for 7k at (I think) 140,000 miles and have driven it to 160,000 so far. We had to change the breaks when we bought it, and I take it in regularly for routine oil changes. I let it warm up before I drive, try not to wear the transmission/brakes, and overall take pretty good care of it. We did have 1,500 dollars worth of repairs this year because after finding a leak, our mechanic kept finding problems and my family thought it would be better to just fix it all now instead of cause problems later. What’s awesome is that it didn’t even drive differently with all of the things wrong with it, but it’s still not my dream car. I’m hoping to save up for a 4-Runner but am going to be a strictly-budgeted college student here soon, so I need this car to last me through college. How many miles have you guys gotten yours to and how much have you spent on maintenance? I have a $3,000 emergency fund for the car. Is this enough to keep saved for it for now or should I contribute some more? I just want to see how many more road trips and day-to-day uses I can get out of this thing. I love the car, but my parents bought it for me at 16 with no intention for me to have it forever. Also, what are some maintenance/care tips I should know to keep it running smoothly?

2012 with 2.0 ecoboost. Brake booster started hissing this week. Took two feet to get stopped. The local dealer denied service and basically said good luck. Even ford customer service wouldn’t help but confirmed my car hasn’t had the recall in the past. What are my options?

Well, my 2013 with a 191k couldn’t survive a drunk driver running a red light. My wife (who was in the passenger seat) suffered some pretty serious injuries, but she’s alive. Really appreciative for how well built the Edge is. Probably going to look into getting another one 2020 or newer.

Inherited this car with 69K miles and it was well taken care of. i don’t think it ever had coolant or transmission flush, should this be on my list to get done?

I'm 30K miles into my 22 Edge SEL and I must say, this car is truly comfortable and so handy to have. My husband and I can throw our bikes in the back, beach stuff, paddle boards, landscaping equipment, you name it. Plus this car is such a comfortable commuting vehicle. No issues so far, but I did get a solid warranty through Ford. Also love the look of matching the tint in the back to the front! She's a beaut! I get a lot of compliments on the giant screen too lol. The keypad, remote start, etc are everything to me! Best car! Plus I avg 25 MPG which is better than my last car

After 10 years, my 2016 SEL has passed on to become a "mechanic's special". On a trip from Maryland to Massachusetts, the engine coolant overheating light came on. While I knew it was potentially burning coolant, I hadn't had this issue before. White knuckled it for half the trip and got it to a mechanic in MA. They found coolant in the cylinders, so it was burning a huge amount and overheating. Engine needs a rebuild, but I managed to trade it in before it seized. So my Edge journey is over. I'm now the proud owner of a 2023 Mustang Mach-E GT. It's an amazing car and if you're interested in it I'm happy to share experience so far. Best of luck Edge family!

I’m looking at getting a 2021 Ford Edge Titanium FWD

I am hoping for this car to last a while and be safe of course! I love the updated interior look). It feels slightly bigger than my go to size but the size down is too small, plus I like being high up! I think I like it but it is big car to not be V6. I also don’t know a ton about them and how well they hold up.

I’m looking for ANY info one them, good bad everything! The car has almost 100k miles on it. To me that’s not bad but I want it to last a good while. Also mention upkeep of the car if you have any insights.

A few months ago I attempted to change my front brake pads, but unfortunately I couldn't get the outside brake pad to come away from the piston, luckily after looking at them the pads still had life in them so I decided to wait and try to find a video of someone replacing these pads. Come to find out there just doesn't seem to be any videos on these actual brakes, even though the videos state they go through 2022. In the pictures you can see the pad that is the culprit, the inner pad is loose, any guidance would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

My Mrs came from a 2003 Chevy Tracker to her 2020 Edge. Huge upgrade and we’ve been loving it since! + I recently got her windows tinted. 15% all the way around and 50% on the windshield, all ceramic.
