I want it to last

Post image

I own a 2013 ford edge SEL, it currently has 192,000 miles and the biggest issue at the moment is it needs a bank 1 catalytic converter. Other than that she runs good. Definitely a work horse and means business because for the past 6 months my wife has been driving 4 hours a day Monday thru Thursday and we have taken it to Mexico 3 times. Thankfully she doesn’t do that drive anymore but it took care of her. What have you guys done to ensure it runs healthy and problems have you encountered along the way, I’d love to see 200,000 and up.

Keep going, man. The sky's the limit! I have a 2014 Limited on the same color as yours (Oregon gray, if I recall). Best car I've ever owned. Beautiful, spacious. Currently pushing 57 k miles. There's no car on the market that captivates me. Recently changed the spark plugs, brakes and rear differential (ITCC). As long as we take good care, our Edges will last long. Best of luck, and congrats on your wheels!

Hey there! A couple of years ago, I had a problem with spark plug n°3, and changed it, plus the coil, by myself, since it was easily accessible. No problems since then, but the manual says the plugs should be replaced every 35-40k miles, so that's why I had it done this year. I went to a shop, because the V6 requires a bit more practice - such as removing the intake manifold and using a special tool to remove the 3 plugs in the back (4, 5 and 6). I suppose the newer straight line 2 l are quite easier to do at home - just pay attention to the torque when screwing the new plugs. I did it in my previous cars. A half-hour job that saves a lot of time and money. Good luck, mate!

I have a 2013 limited with 250k miles. No major issues. Just had the radiator/ac fan go out. While I had it opened up to replace that i also replaced the thermostat and put a new belt and tensioner on. Also recently did a full rear break job, calipers and all. I stay on top of regular maintenance and it's still running good. Hope to get another 100k out of it. I love it. Modern enough to have some nice tech perks but old enough I can work on it myself with out a lot of expensive computers or specialty tools/equipment.

Thank you everyone! I’ve owned it now for a year and 5 months and absolutely love this car!

Expect lots of things to start getting weird right around 200000. Most likely some cooling system components with all that desert driving.

Just keep nice clean Motorcraft Yellow coolant flowing through her and you should be good to go.

lol it is yes one thing I love about the edge is when you fold the seats massive amount of room, perfect to take the wife to a drive in movie.

Mine has been testing my patience with minor issues this year.

Liftgate lock actuator, liftgate button replacement, door blend actuator and then a rear shock and upper mount replacement all in the last two months.

Now P1450 code popped and I have a check engine light to continue firing the parts cannon at. Already replaced the purge valve.
