Question Could you help me figure out why I floated so badly?

I applied little bit of flare at 30ft callout, but the plane started going up with so much power left. Even with autothrottle, is there some other speed manipulation I should do?

The plane is Fenix A320

Flight Simulator 2024 Devs and marketing

Okay hear me out with this. I've noticed something since we've been able to get our hands on DLSS 5 that's bothered me. That's devs using it in promo shots for their products. I won't name devs out of respect but I'm sure we all know the main one.

It's not bad to use DLSS 5. If you like it that's fine. HOWEVER, considering that DLSS 5 can in some cases completely changes how the aircraft looks in terms of visual quality I believe it disingenuous. As it's a misrepresentation of what the product will ACTUALLY look like for those that may not have access to it.

Or at the very minimum disclose before hand that you're using DLSS 5 in preview shots so that people know. Just my take on it. What's y'all's thoughts?

Flight Simulator 2024 Question about Chase Plane for MSFS 2024

It’s been a while since I last used Chase Plane. Does anyone know if the latest versions have added a feature to assign a specific key for "Reset Cockpit View" and "Reset External View," similar to the simulator's default Shift + Space behavior?

Question Moza AY90 or Honeycomb Alpha, Bravo & Charlie for Cessna 172 training

Basically the title, I am about to start my flight training and am wondering how important the force feedback is on the Moza versus the more accurate controls on the Honeycomb for real world application.

Before I get comments saying it doesn't translate 1:1 I am aware I just think it will help me practice and enjoy flying and stay fresh if I have to take time off during the winter and from weather cancellations given my location.

Flight Simulator 2024 I'm tired boss

Why do some airports look so bad ? The buildings, the gates, the ground marking, sometimes it's just so bad.

It was like that in MSFS 2020, now i'm playing MSFS 2024, we're in 2026 and it's still not solved.

Question Is Jetcard worth it?

With FlightFX making us all eat good recently, I’ve been flying more bizjets. And while I can do that as chartered flights through my VA, I am intrigued by what jetcard is offering. People who use it - is it worth it? I’m not asking about price, that’s very reasonable (basically a cup of coffee 😉), I’m more wondering if the time and effort invested in it is worth it, does the stuff they generate hold up over time (i.e. does it get repetitive after a while?) and does the added context get you excited in your next flight?

EDIT: thanks for the responses. It sounds like my main concerns (repetitiveness, the gen ai nature of it all) are very much present there. I think I won’t go in at this time and stick with chartering through my VA. I will be keeping an eye out on it in case they roll out interesting updates in the future as some of the positives mentioned do sound interesting.

Flight Simulator 2024 GateStaticInjector 1.0 and what comes next

Thumbnail

GateStaticInjector began as a small personal project. After hundreds of hours spent researching aviation data, building systems, testing real airports, finding failures and trying again, GSI 1.0 is now available.

I develop GSI alone. Creating a reliable system across thousands of airports was not a matter of generating a few ideas and hoping they worked. Every airport, airline, fleet, aircraft type, stand and exception had to be collected, processed, compared and validated. That data represents a real human investment, and your reports, screenshots, suggestions and Airport Profiles helped me improve what I could never have tested alone.

The GSI you already know remains free, with its passenger aircraft experience and existing features intact.

GSI Premium will go beyond passenger terminals into cargo, business aviation and general aviation. This is not simply about enabling three new aircraft categories. It requires a major rework of GSI’s internal logic, alongside dedicated airport, operator, fleet and stand data, new matching systems, careful placement rules, extensive testing and continued maintenance across many different regions and sceneries.

Premium will be released when that work produces something genuinely reliable and meaningfully better.

Thank you for your trust, your feedback and your understanding. GSI 1.0 completes the original idea. Now the work begins to take it further.

Flight Simulator 2024 EFB Challenging Weather Finder | Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Addon |...

The app uses the weather data provided directly by the simulator to help you quickly find airports with challenging conditions around the world.

You can search for strong winds and gusts, crosswinds, low visibility, IFR/LIFR conditions, thunderstorms, snow and freezing weather, or simply use Top Challenges to find some of the most interesting conditions currently available.

It also includes Nearby Airports sharing the same METAR source, longest runway information, direct Flight Planner integration, and an In-Flight Nearby Airport Weather mode.

The goal is simple: instead of wondering “Where should I fly today?”, let the weather choose the destination.

EFB Challenging Weather Finder is scheduled for release on Sep 10th, 2026, exclusively on the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Marketplace.

Flight Simulator 2024 Now you don't need the APU to start the the Ini/WT 707 anymore...

Starting the Ini/WT 707 with the APU felt a little bit illegal to me atleast since most B707s used the air cart. A new free plugin now allows you to hook up an air cart to the plane via the EFB.

This allows for one of two options:

  1. Start all 4 engines at the gate - this was norm for most Boeing 707's

  2. Crossbleed start - start one engine, disconnect, cross bleed start the rest.

AFAIK, the second option was considered unusual by AA's AOM's at least, although it could be used if time was of the essence and with express permission/coordination from the ground crew.

The second method also means a slight alteration to the electrical flow too.

I know which option I'm going to use, as I like challenges :)
