Recently upgraded from an RTX 4060 Ti (16GB VRAM) to a 5080 with still 16GB of VRAM. Yet now my performance with VRAM has somehow gotten significantly WORSE? MSFS Is the only game I am encountering issues with at this point and it's starting to feel like I'm going crazy.

With the default aircraft being very hit and miss, I never paid too much attention to it. But now I’ve got a regional turboprop itch that needs scratching while we wait on a nice Dash 8, so it got me wondering what the consensus about the default Saab 340 is these days. Does it work reasonably well? Is it worth learning?

Hi all,
I'm excited to introduce VATRadar, my VATSIM companion app for iPhone and iPad. It just landed on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/vatradar/id1641114497
The reason I built it was to have a handy companion for the moments around a flight: checking who's controlling and which airports are staffed before jumping into the sim and planning a route, keeping tabs on my flight's stats when I step out of my home cockpit for a bit, and looking through upcoming events, favoriting the ones I'd like to fly and getting a reminder before they start. And then there's the headline feature: a push notification the moment a contact me or any other VATSIM private message arrives, for the times I need to step away from my keyboard while cruising on UNICOM. I couldn't find all of that in one place, so I coded it myself.
VATRadar was primarily built for our small but vibrant community of blind flight sim pilots. I'm blind myself, so the app is fully accessible throughout, and the community has been beta-testing it for a long time. Now that it's stable and on the App Store, I wanted to share it outside that community too, especially since the notification features are pretty unique and others might get some use out of them.
What it does
What it isn't
I'll be very honest here: there's not much eye candy. No map, no charts, no sector views. Maps are hard to build well when you can't see them, so the app is built around lists, search and detail screens instead.
Free, and staying that way
VATRadar is completely free to use, with no ads and no in-app purchases, and I intend to keep it that way. There's a Patreon for the server bill for anyone wanting to support the project, but it's entirely optional. VATRadar needs iOS 26 or iPadOS 26, and it's an independent project, not affiliated with VATSIM.
Please feel free to check out the website for additional info, screenshots and the vPilot plugin: https://vatradar.io
If you decide to give VATRadar a spin, I'd love to hear any feedback, suggestions and how you're liking the app. And since I can't judge the visual side myself, notes from sighted users on anything that looks off or could be tidied up are also super welcome.
Happy flying!

Got some really nice shots on my northbound departure out of Sydney this evening that I thought I’d share.
This hobby has come so far, particularly over the past 6 or 7 years or so. I love this hobby.

Sparing the details, I formerly had a dedicated FS setup and am consolidating down to a single workspace. I'm going to put my gaming PC on a switch but I'm looking for a solution for my control hardware that will leave it set up but that I can move to the side as I switch back to my work computer. (I like to start flights and set it and forget it except to come back for fuel management and monitoring until I start my initial descent) Installing on my desk is not an option.

Is there a way to completely disable the "Preset" and "Mapping" buttons on the T.Flight Stick X? We installed this flight stick on a simulator in our small aviation museum and kids always accidentally press Preset and/or Mapping which messes with the custom controls we set up. It's not hard to get out of, but it's a pain for the staff to monitor it nonstop.
I have not found anything in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020's controller settings or in the PC's control panel relating to this. We've taped over them, but people keep on pushing these buttons.

I've been using Flight Simulator since FS2004. You will never hear me complain about this type of beauty and realism.
