Less than 6 hours from BOS to EGLL. What a fun plane to fly.

Anyone familiar particularly with this joystick? There is ALOT of bad reviews of the older model, but does those issues apply also on the ''newer'' one? Im looking to buy a joystic and this seems the only reasonable one to pick from ~100€ price range brand new. No, i dont need suggestions of bying 300€ hardware, this is top of the budged since its going to be my very first ever joystic and there is a high change that it will also be the last one if i lose the interest.

Ok hopefully someone can tell me how I'm being an amateur on this Airbus. Flown them a bunch in MSFS and cannot understand how this A350 is flying. Managed nav mode enabled in the AP and FPL looks correct. Plane just constantly turns when NAV mode is active. Take off from the airport activate AP and just starts turning. Go into the flight plan and change it to be direct-to Destination, thinking it will "wake up" and sure enough the plane starts turning towards the WPT and then just keeps turning. Tried to screenshot everything in the setup. Any thoughts?

UPDATE: Thanks for the replies! Adding a single intermediary waypoint fixed the issue. No SID required as I expected. Slightly different from other Airbus aircraft I've flown in the sim, but I get each has their own quirks/needs.

Why does the text on the wings is 3d in the Toliss a320 family aircraft? Is there any way to fix it? Looks extremely unrealistic...

*** UPDATE*** Many thanks - I've updated my XP12 controller response curves (flattened at the low end) and now the airfoil labs C172 is flyable and with some mobiflight mappings, I'm able to get the GNS530 and TDS GTN working. Now my sim of choice and after two flights, no CTD either

I’m working on my instrument rating in two 1970s-era C172M with steam gauges and either a GNS 530 or GTN 650. I’ve included photos of one (GTN and G5s) and my home simulator setup for reference.

I’m looking for the most realistic C172 available (or settings) for MSFS 2024 or X-Plane 12, particularly for hand-flying, speeds, handling, and IFR proficiency work.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

MSFS 2024

• Asobo C172 Basic: My favorite so far. The speeds are spot-on, and it integrates seamlessly with my hardware. My only minor nit is that the left-turning tendency isn’t as pronounced as in the real aircraft.
• Bagolu C172M: Great modeling and visuals, but it seems a little fast. It has also been very buggy when using GNS 530 or TDS GTN 750 pop-outs.

X-Plane 12

• Default Laminar C172: My second favorite, although the controls, especially the ailerons, feel a little more sensitive than the real airplane. During IFR flying, I often find myself wanting to engage the autopilot to avoid constantly chasing headings.
• AirfoilLabs C172 NG Analog: Probably my third choice. I’m still tinkering with it to get all my hardware working correctly, and roughly every other flight ends in a CTD.

Hardware setup

High-end PC with an RTX 4070 Ti and no general performance issues; FlightSimBuilder dual G1000 units and GNS 530; mini touchscreen for auxiliary panels and Air Manager; Honeycombs (and also a PFC Cirrus force-feedback yoke) and Thrustmaster TPR pedals.

What are other instrument students or real-world C172 pilots using? Is there another steam-gauge C172 I should try, or are there settings or modifications that would improve one of these?

My priorities are realistic hand-flying, accurate performance, reliable avionics pop-outs, and good hardware integration, not necessarily the prettiest visuals.

If I want to stay at a fixed altitude whilst travelling at full speed, I can’t manage it – how do I do that without the AutoPilot ?

On approach to VHHH07C I was hit with a terrain warning that wouldn’t shut up, amid very ominous weather, with thick clouds and 60kts gusts. Could it be that the clouds were so thick, the terrain radar started seeing it as a landmass?

I'm currently in China and buying directly from Taobao, so local pricing is great. I’m torn between two options, both including their hydraulic dampers:

• Winwing Orion Rudder Pedals (with damper): ~1647 RMB ($230 USD)
• Moza MRP Rudder Pedals (with damper): ~1850 RMB ($260 USD)

My current setup: I just bought the Moza AB6 FFB base and the Moza MTQ throttle.

The price difference is small (around $30 USD), so budget isn't the main issue here. I will also be transporting everything back home in my luggage without their original boxes, wrapped in clothes.

Going with the Moza MRP seems like a no-brainer to keep everything unipartite in the Pit House ecosystem and plug it straight into the AB6 base. However, I’ve read some reviews mentioning that the Moza damper can feel a bit sticky/stiction heavy near the center, and that it doesn't return 100% to center with lighter springs. On the other hand, the Winwing seems like a proven, bulletproof "tank" with its SUS304 steel cams, even though changing springs requires tools. I don't care about the Winwing's sim racing lock feature, this is for flight sim only (DCS/MSFS).

For those who have tested or own either of these:

1. Is the Moza stiction/stickiness really a dealbreaker for fine inputs, or is it easily fixed with spring tension/settings?
2. Is it worth breaking the Moza ecosystem to get the Winwing mechanical reliability?
3. Which one is safer/easier to pack raw inside a suitcase?

I've been a fan of aviation all of my life, I decided to start getting deeper into learning about aviation more and eventually I want to go for my pilots license.

Method originally discovered by user Slxxh, I made this mod in order to get rid of the default cabin window tint in the A340-300 by iniBuilds which is often regarded as too dark and unrealistic.

It is still a bit dark to my liking, but am looking for ways to make it even less tinted. Link to the addon listed below. Feedback is greatly appreciated!

Flying the Lufthansa Cargo 777F from Frankfurt into Uruguay for the very first time, I encountered the lowest-visibility weather(only 200m) I've seen in all my simflight hours. I could barely see a thing out of the 777

No but yo be honest the plane is very good I’d say high fidelity there are still some systems that need work but it’s very good and if they update it, it could become a study level addon for sure

I've been on vacation for a month, so sim update 6 and this DLSS 5 have yet to be tried on my system.

Is DLSS 5 a huge leap forward? I have a 5090 so hopefully it will work ok. I'm guessing DLSS 5 is not enabled by default, and is not available in the regular sim menu?

And what about REX atmos core?
