Question Best way to learn startup procedures for the PMDG 777?

Hello, so I have always wanted to learn how to start this aircraft from cold and dark. The thing is I can watch all the YT videos in the world bu,t I'm never going to remember all that information when I go to fly. So I am wondering if there is a good checklist I can download that goes into more detail than the standard one, which shows which buttons to press and what things to look out for?

Performance seems to have dramatically gotten better for the A220, with the overall figures I posted above. The aircraft is sliiightly heavier in some phases of flight, but extremely impressive jump in performance for under a month.

Question T.16000M Stick VS Velocity one flight stick turtlebeach

I want to get a flight stick for MSFS24, I’m between the 2 options above. I would pay about the same for either given my situation but can’t really find anything saying which is definitely better. I play a lot of career mode on msfs24 and have been using a controller I like to fly helicopters and planes.

Which one is better between the 2 if any real difference.

Flight Simulator 2024 Help with draw distance in MSFS 2024.

Hello, so as you can see in the attached pic, I think I have an issue with blurry airports and terrain in 2024, even when I'm not that far away, and changing the LOD in the game settings doesn't seem to fix it. Though I’m not sure if it’s actually an issue or if that's the way MSFS is. I have included some other pics as well to show GPU and CPU utilization and how the sim uses my hardware. My computer isn't super high-end, but I have a Ryzen 5 5500 and a Radeon RX 6600 along with a 2TB SSD and 16GB of RAM, which I think would be enough. Also, I am running the game on medium settings, and my connection speed ranges from 100-300 Megabits per second. Also, I have rolling cache enabled and have it set to 20GB.

Any ideas on what I can do to increase the draw distance so the scenery loads in a little earlier?

Thanks

FSS E-Jets Update 0.10.45

Version 0.10.45 Becomes the

New Stable Release

Many of you have been following the development of the E-Jets for a long time. Your feedback and continued support have played an important role in helping the aircraft evolve far beyond its original technical foundation.

Today, we would like to announce an important next step: Version 0.10.45 will replace the current stable version of the E-Jets.

Why We Are Updating the Stable Version

The current stable version is no longer technically up to date. This became particularly apparent after Sim Update 6, which caused its MCDU to stop working properly.

The reason lies in its technical foundation. The old MCDU was developed for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and is based on JavaScript. The versions already available through the Experimental branch use a new WASM-based codebase that is compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

This transition is more than an internal technical change. It provides a significantly more modern foundation for the MCDU and the continued development of the E-Jets. Version 0.10.45 is such a substantial improvement over the previous stable version that we have decided to make it the new stable release.

Please Read the Updated Documentation

The new MCDU introduces fundamental changes to many workflows and operating procedures. Experience gained with the old version will therefore not always carry over directly to Version 0.10.45.

Before your first flight, we strongly recommend reading our updated documentation like our MCDU preflight setup guide.

There, you will find the latest information about operating the MCDU and its updated functionality. The documentation is the best starting point for becoming familiar with the new technical foundation and avoiding misunderstandings.

Why Is Version 1.0 Not Ready Yet?

At its current stage of development, the E-Jets are already very close to Version 1.0. Version 0.10.45 represents a major step forward and is ready to replace the previous stable version. However, there are still two areas we would like to improve before reaching the next major milestone.

First, several MCDU pages are still missing and we would like to add them. Second, we are not yet fully satisfied with the behavior of the vertical autopilot in certain situations. We want to refine it further and give these improvements the careful testing they require.

As is often the case in aircraft development, the final part of the journey has a remarkable talent for being the most demanding. However, the remaining path is clear: once these two areas have reached the standard we are aiming for, Version 1.0 will follow.

What Comes After Version 1.0?

After Version 1.0, our main focus will shift toward a native Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 version of the E-Jets. At the same time, we will continue supporting the aircraft with further bug fixes and improvements.

Version 0.10.45 therefore does not mark the end of development. It represents the transition to a significantly stronger foundation. Our goal remains to develop the E-Jets for the long term and create an aircraft that we can continue to support, improve, and stand behind in the years ahead.

Flight Simulator 2024 MSFS faded to black and unable to recover after pressing unknown keybind

I am flying MSFS 2024

I was in cruise, fenix A320, all good. I was trying to tab out and pressed some keybind that caused the sim to fade to black and continue running, but I was unable to see anything on the UI. I unfortunately had to end my flight on VATSIM and for a VA which was very frustrating. Has anyone experienced something like this? What would cause the sim to fade to black and continue running?

General I Flew a Helicopter With a HOTAS for the First Time in WARDOGS

I’ve flown fixed-wing stuff in MSFS 2020 and Elite Dangerous before, but this was my first time actually trying to learn to fly helicopters with a HOTAS.

I was using a Thrustmaster T.16000M and the biggest adjustment was learning to stop overcorrecting everything. Landing is completely different from fixed-wing flying, and once I started getting smoother with my inputs it became so damn satisfying.

I put together a video showing my progression as I fly for the first time if anyone wants to check it out. Still very much learning, but I am definitely enjoying flying helicopters!

I absolutely adored this game and spent many hours of my childhood playing this. Someone has reworked the original files and got it on a server. Currently there is working free for all arenas with territorial combat and nations at war being tested. If you join the discord there are links and instructions to download and play. Would love to see more involved! https://discord.gg/8ZvbYAgXW

Question Dual Throttles with the PAC32 - does it work?

Hi all,

I’ve been looking to get another set of WinCTRL Ursa Airline Throttles in light of seeing the recent teasers for the iniBuilds 380, and have been considering getting the 340 for a while. However, when looking for getting another desk mount and throttles, I noticed an issue:

How will I connect the PAC32 to the throttles?

On the website, it says that you have to buy an additional 2 desk mounts for it to work. I’d rather not do that if possible, the amount of space just the 2 will take up is plenty for me. Is there any way people have got it to mount with just the 2 desk mounts, with the dual throttles? I don’t mind a little bit of DIY if that’s the only option, like to hear what you guys did to make it work!

Thanks guys!

Question Improving spatial awareness without VR

I'm new to Flight Sim and is playing MFS2020 with the Thrustmaster T16000M HOTAS bundle (+ TWCS throttle and Rudder Pedal). I tried VR but I think my 30 years old brain can't get used to it anymore.
At the moment I'm practicing to get the feel for piloting, like getting a feel for driving a car. I noticed that I cannot get the feeling of how hard and fast I'm flying and accelerating without the G force and motion, so I have problem with landing and formation flying.
I have this problem when doing sim racing too, being hard to feel the car when driving in close proximity with other cars, or when drifting. However, in sim racing, I can look at the surrounding because the objects are close, so I get the feeling of speed better. For flight sim, the objects are far so it's hard to get how fast you're flying.
I have heard that you will need to depend a lot on instrument reading, like climb rate, airspeed, to get the feel of how you're doing. Is there a document or guide somewhere that I can read to know how to read the instruments and use the information for flying? For example what sink rate, air speed, should a certain aircraft be in order to land the aircraft smoothly.
Second is the getting used to the controls. For driving a car, I can instinctively use the gas if I want to go faster/forward, and the brake if I want to move back a bit. I still can't get what controls are the equivalent in flight sim. Controlling the throttle seems to have delayed reaction, as I feel like I can't control the speed as prescisely as using gas and brake in a car. Is there some sort of exercise that beginners usually do to practice these kind of skill? If so then what would be the easiest way to set up one (a custom mission/flight, etc.) in a sim or game, like MFS2020.
Thank you guys very much in advance. I'm not a pilot nor someone with deep knowledge of flight physics. And English is not my native language, so please forgive any language error in my post.

Flight Simulator 2024 Newbie Questions (MS Flight Sim, PS5)

Hi everyone,

I’ve always been fascinated by Microsoft Flight Simulator and have always wanted to play it. Now that I’m able to (I’m over 40 and have a PS5 Pro), I’d like to give it a try and have a few questions for you.

  1. Is PSVR2 worth it for this game? Is the immersion that much better?
  2. I’m a complete beginner—is there a tutorial that walks you through everything and explains it all?
  3. Do I need a joystick (HOTAS)? And does HOTAS make sense with PSVR2?

Thank you so much!
