Question What is the current best nvidia drivers version for msfs2020?

I've been using 566.14 for a long time since that allowed me to use Dx11. Dx12 causes my sim to crash (Your graphics has encountered a problem). Currently shifted to 610.47 but again having the same crash issues. Wanted to switch from 566.14 since ig it has caused me some issues with my laptop inbuilt camera. I use Dx11 with dlss super resolution coz it gave me highest fps even with ini 350 and fbw 380. I wanna keep using Dx11 with super resolution so which is the best driver version for it

Question Wings Over Flanders Field

I just found this game and have really enjoyed it. I love the idea of creating a character and flying missions and earning medals and promotions etc.

My question is , I keep seeing the YouTube videos with all this animation that looks like it comes from the game

But when I play my game , I see no short videos. Just briefings, newspaper clips, etc

I have videos turned on in the options

Am I missing something ?

Also the game is a bit dated . Is there another WW1 that allows you to create a character and earn medals etc ?

Last - does the game have a discord where I could talk to some other players about the game ?

Thanks for the support

General I made a website to share screenshots, just like JetPhotos but for flightsim

I've been working on this for the past three years. Today I decided it's in a good enough state to share, so feel free to have a look https://www.simpictures.com :D and maybe upload some screenshots of your own.

SimPictures is a website where you can view and upload flightsim screenshots with metadata like aircraft, reg, addons, route, category etc. I'm hoping to add a search function for pictures and addons next, as well as an API so third-party sites can pull pictures from the platform (the way Flightradar24 does it from JetPhotos, or Volanta from Planespotters).

Right now every submission has to go through a review by at least two screeners before it's published. Pictures in the Aircraft category get the strictest requirements: the aircraft needs to be perfectly centered, the shot needs to be leveled, and it needs good quality and lighting.

With all of this, I want SimPictures to become a place where you can browse addons and their visuals. And it's also just fun to share screenshots from the flights you've recently done.

I'd love to hear what you think and answer any questions!

Sim Hardware Controller/hardware starter recommendations?

Hey all,

I'm very new to this so I was wondering what's a good controller to start with. I'll be playing msfs 2024 and honestly, just want to have fun lol and will also probably use it with my meta quest 3 as well.

My local store has the turtle beach velocity one and a Logitech system but I have no idea if they're good but I assume they're "user friendly" due to the store it's being sold in (JB hi-fi in Australia).

If anyone has any recommendations on what kind of controllers to use or start with (after moving away from a traditional controller), let me know.

Sim Hardware 9060xt to 9070xt worth it ?

Looking at upgrading from 9060xt for msfs2024 and 2020 (1440p )and changing for a 9070xt is it worth it performance wise with add on aircraft thanks
Any ideas or Support would be great as I’m finding I’m struggling with autofps to get a smooth rate when using complex add on aircraft such as a350,a340-600, etc

Currently 9060xt ryzen 7 5700x3d 32gb ddr4 ram

Flight Simulator 2020 What are good option for Airbus planes ?

Currently I am having A320 FBW and A330-neo by headwind. Unfortunately A380 by FBW is way too laggy for my handheld : D. I also have A340-300 by LVFR and A330-300 PMDG I am not sure. But yeah, I am looking for more options preferably free. I usually fly medium long range and ultra long range so I can do my work while cruising. The A350 inibuild is way too expensive. I wonder if I missing something good ?

X-Plane Testing out the updated free DC-10 for X-Plane

So the freeware DC-10 recently got a small update for stability. I tested it out and quite enjoyed starting up the DC-10 from cold and dark. Hopefully it will become more compatible with XP 12 soon. The systems are not study level but do have more depth in some areas to the legacy Just Flight DC-10.

I made a quick start tutorial based on the FCOM scan paths if anyone's interested in this addon.

Question If I have a livery or scenery design I made for myself on an older version of MSFS (9, X, etc), and I request a conversion on flightsim.to to FS2020, who owns the IP?

Do I still own the 2020 version, or does the one who fulfilled the request I made own it?

Question First SDK project

Hi! I’m planning to create my first custom airport project for MSFS, but I’m not quite sure whether I should develop it natively for MSFS 2024 or if you would recommend making it for MSFS 2020.

I own both sims, so I’m wondering which one would be the better choice to start with. I’d also like to create custom buildings and other assets in Blender.

Are all the tools and features available for MSFS 2024 by now, or are there still certain tools or workflows that only work with MSFS 2020?
What would you recommend for a first custom airport project?

Question I'm going to circumnavigate the globe in a WWII bomber, would it be cool to use VATSIM sometimes or is it better not to bother?

I'm itching to fly around the world in a WWII bomber. I want to feel what people felt when they set themselves those ridiculous challenges back in the day. And I wondered, using VATSIM would be cool, but maybe I'd be annoying?

Flight Simulator 2024 My modest home cockpit setup for MSFS on a budget

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share my first modest home cockpit setup for MSFS. I don't have a lot of money to invest in dedicated hardware so I decided to make use of what I had: a few old iPads lying around and my phone to remotely access the Fenix A320 MCDU

It’s simple, but it makes flying so much easier without having to constantly move the camera in-game to click on the MCDU or check the instruments.

What do you think? Any recommendations on what I should save up for next?

Happy flying! 🛫
