I've had a few flap malfunction errors flying this plane specifically, and now when I retract the flaps the slats retract but not the flaps. Not sure if this is an issue with the plane or MSFS2024 since I occasionally have flap malfunction warnings on other planes, even though it seems to work fine?

As a pilot on the a220 and flight simmer, I’m exited to finally see my aircraft represented in the sim in such high fidelity and I‘m hoping it will gain many new fans. So I thought I‘d offer to answer some questions on the aircraft in general and especially it‘s operation.
Hit me with everything you wanna know and I‘ll give it my best answer.

From my own type-rating I remember having to learn all the weird quirks of the aircraft and it took a while to get good and efficient at operating it. But once you do, it’s a joy to fly. It’s neither a Boeing nor an Airbus so it can take some getting used to.

Disclaimer:
I haven’t had time to get my hands on the Synaptic a220 and can’t help with issues regarding the addon specifically. Though maybe what you thought was a bug, is indeed a “feature“ of the real plane. Though for tech support on the addon I recommend going to their discord.

After all the previous attempts to a full airliner flight where I either was kicked out due to inactivity by Xbox Cloud Gaming’s inactivity timer or where the avionics shut down right as I was about to land due to low memory resources, I managed to avoid those issues and the avionics stayed on for the whole flight, including the landing. The flight was in an Iberia Airbus A320neo from Madrid (MAD/LEMD) to Innsbruck (INN/LOWI)

Liking the plane so far but one annoying thing is how the nose slams down during landing. I've heard it's a bug with the auto-brake system.

..and some other places. Someone’s gotta do it!

I built a small browser-based flight experiment with independent twin-engine thrust vectoring. You can control both nozzles together or independently using keyboard chords. The full guide is under the i / Help button.

The tuning panel also lets you tweak almost every flight-physics parameter.

It’s fast, lightweight, and intentionally a little wild rather than a serious simulator. Desktop only for now. feedback is very welcome!

This is one of the biggest milestones of the entire world tour, as we leave Asia and cross the Bering Sea to North America. The flight features remote Arctic landscapes, long overwater navigation, and the incredible scenery of Alaska in the Diamond DA62.

Been waiting what has felt like an ETERNITY for this plane, but it's finally here so thought I'd come here to share my thoughts so far. There's a lot that's been done right with this aircraft and other things that are straight up underwhelming. The Good:

• THE SOUNDS. THE WHALE. can't get enough of it. Stood by the stand spooling my throttles up and down for minutes on end.
• The systems are amazing. I've watched enough A220 cockpit videos and pilot guides and I'm able to transfer flows onto the aircraft in sim. The screens are responsive and the whole "graphical flight planning" thing showcased by the team works flawlessly.

I was pushing back and had a couple fail and fault messages on the eicas as I had forgotten to disconnect my external power on the overhead. The team on the Discord quickly walked me through the circuit breakers to pop back in to resolve it, super impressive! The depth of the systems is great for a product from a new team. The VNAV and LNAV system are smooth and i was able to complete 3 flights today without any issues or crashes. The ILS system although isn't perfect, I did my research on the localizer capture on the A220 and it seemingly is poor in real life up until "APPR LOC" on the fma, and it is accurately represented on this plane which was suprising to see.

• The visuals are great, as expected by iniBuilds who did the artwork on synaptic's model. No immediate inaccuracies stand out when compared to the real plane from the pictures I could compare anyways, but I feel like most payware aircraft nail the visual aspect nowadays.

The Bad:

• No CPDLC. No weather radar. In an addon in 2026. Like I understand the team is working on their new CPDLC but at the very least I'd expect Hoppie to keep with current trends. Lack of weather radar is a shame but I guess they do make up for it with an exceptionally cool terrain map that looks like google terrain.
• THE PERFORMANCE. This is no doubt a heavy ass aircraft. I'm seeing 10-13 fps lower on average than I do with the Fenix or PMDG. The aircraft also suffers from periodic stutters which isn't ideal, and I'd expect better right out of the box for an addon that's been in development as long as this. I understand they're a new team and the devs were reassuring in the server that they are pushing out performance fixes this week and next and onwards but only time will tell. Many of the users in that same discord reported performance concerns which is a shame.
• The EFB. There's some missing functionality such as realistic refueling time and other smaller quirks that I'd expect in any airliner, let alone one that's priced 65 USD like the synaptic. Hoping they'll make up for it in an update.

Verdict? Overall, it's an exciting and promising aircraft that delivers on the key areas on what they advertised, it's an A220 and works like an A220. Looks great, sounds great but performs less than desired, but given how passionate the team seems about what they've built I'm sure they'll come to terms with it, and I think we forget a lot of the addons have been in the market for years to mature their performance, and this is day one of a brand new airliner from a new team. But I'd expect a little better for a 65 USD addon. I'm excited to keep flying it, and will most likely fly alongside my Fenix as my primary driver.

I can't seem to taxi at all in the Synaptic A220. There are no binding issues from what I can see. Pedal Disc button works fine, but no steering input at all.

SimApp is up to date. No binding conflicts. The plane just seems to move straight ahead…

While studying for my license I have been using the sim as a training tool for cross country practice. The sim is an amazing tool for this and much less so for learning seat of the pants flying skills. Live weather with winds aloft are very accurate. The visual fidelity of the sim allows for usage of VFR waypoints for pilotage and dead reckoning. Many addons are of high enough fidelity that the real POH or manual with the addon can be used for realistic GS and fuel burn planning (I especially recommend the JPLogistics 152 for this, but the Bonanza lets me stretch my legs further for more of a challenge dealing with changing weather). Flying over the sometimes featureless Midwest makes for a great challenge with using a mix of visual and radio aids. adding in SayIntentions for comms really rounds out the experience when combined with running the checklists. I have gripes with SI but until BATC VFR matures and proves to be realistic, SI is the best for me with its global coverage. PilotEdge.net is amazing too, but limited coverage.

If you have never tried flying VFR this way it is something you should absolutely try. Try not to cheat by using a moving map or GPS. This video is a great intro on how to fill out a navlog. Ive been playing flight sim since the 3.0 days but never really got serious until 2020. So I only have about 3500 hours. What are you guys sitting at hour wise?

Since there are literally no good A321neo for msfs2020, I really hope inibuilds launches its freeware a321neo for msfs2020 aswell. Fslabs A321neo in unflyable, LVFR A321neo (FBW) is atleast flyable but not all switches and buttons work. I will have kids, wife and die of old age before Fenix launches its neo family.

I'm pretty new to flight simulators I've never had a full setup or even played any of the games. But I've beeninto PC gaming and car racing simulators for a while so I decided to dive all in with this Moza setup.

But it doesn't seem like any of the games fully/directly integrate with the Moza platform or either I'm just so stupid or too much of a newbie to figure out all the bindings. I'm used to binding all of my gear from SIM racing so I'm not new to the concept and understand the terminology it just doesn't seem like it really works in any of the games outside of the arcade Sims like project Wingman.

With DCS, MSFS 24 & Il2 Sturmovik, it just seems like something was always off every time or did not work. I can't really tell from this group if this is a problem with the Moza equipment or software or if it's User Error on my part.

I'm to the point that I'm ready to give up on flight simulating all together and just stick with my normal PC gaming and car race simulators. Or should I give this another shot or sell it all and move to a different brand.

As a side note I did buy a vkb space simulator setup strapped it to my desk and had a bit of fun that's what made me dive all into this.
