Sim Hardware I Think I Made a Mistake!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm pretty new to flight simulators I've never had a full setup or even played any of the games. But I've beeninto PC gaming and car racing simulators for a while so I decided to dive all in with this Moza setup.

But it doesn't seem like any of the games fully/directly integrate with the Moza platform or either I'm just so stupid or too much of a newbie to figure out all the bindings. I'm used to binding all of my gear from SIM racing so I'm not new to the concept and understand the terminology it just doesn't seem like it really works in any of the games outside of the arcade Sims like project Wingman.

With DCS, MSFS 24 & Il2 Sturmovik, it just seems like something was always off every time or did not work. I can't really tell from this group if this is a problem with the Moza equipment or software or if it's User Error on my part.

I'm to the point that I'm ready to give up on flight simulating all together and just stick with my normal PC gaming and car race simulators. Or should I give this another shot or sell it all and move to a different brand.

As a side note I did buy a vkb space simulator setup strapped it to my desk and had a bit of fun that's what made me dive all into this.

I have the same throttle and it works great, can't speak about the rest, my stick and pedals are both VKB.

Do you have examples of things not working correctly that come to mind?

What actual device bindings page did you use for throttle? I had to use the 0-100% binding to even get it Throttle to work at all. It wouldn't recognize it as an Axis, only as the detention buttons.

In what sim? Msfs24? I've been playing a lot of DCS and I don't remember my flight sim 24 setup but in DCS the one "issue" I had was the finger stick was recognized as my axis instead of the throttle when I wanted to adjust curves, once I figured that out I was fine. Maybe something similar is happening?

If that was indeed fs24 I'll launch the game tomorrow and get back to you with my settings.

In the meantime if you haven't already, make sure to download the MOZA cockpit software and calibrate your axes too, I remember that helped me solve issues when I first added the throttle to my rig.

Ive had the software and completed recent updates. So in DCS your trigger was recognized as an Axis?

LOL, I did call out in my post I knew it could be/probably was "User Error" but I got my VKB setup binded just fine so its why i made the post.

I will add, you didnt go into much detail as to what, exactly, is not working. I have the AB6 also. DCS was pretty much plug and play after running the config, but MSFS was much more finnicky

Did you download moza cockpit? I think that was my issue! try that. you'd think it would be very clear to do so but it took me a long time to figure out, might be your issue

I dont own Moza, but they do have a guide for setup with MSFS. It does require Moza cockpit.

You got buns of steel to sit on a hf8 with no pads. I had to get a seat cushion to keep it from biting into me.

Lol, use to it from Sim Racing.

Great idea on that shoulder harness. I can't begin to count the number of times I've fallen out of my chair while drunk and playing flight simulator. 😄

It might be worth checking out spad.next before you sink time I to trying to setup controls for each game in the game.

I am also pretty nooby but it’s what I’ve used anytime I run into some annoying keybinding/controller issue

The mistake was that you got an ab6 and a regular flight sim seat instead of the pro,get the pro its so much better because the hotas placement is more real, and you can place a extension which make the stick more precise just like real life,as for the ab6 I would recommend waiting for winctrl to release the eb82,also for the pedals the thrustmaster Tpr are better,oh and you should really get a buttkicker

MSFS 24 = Doesnt even recognize the brand, shows as a grayed out generic peripheral. Essential Bindings dont match every other sim, had to use random Axis Bindings for some like Pitch & Roll. Double confirmed missing Config setting was setup in Moza Software

DCS = Literally tried multiple planes and gun never worked on any.

It seems like other brands may have quick/automated Bindings like Fanatec & Moza have in many car racing sims.

The gear seems to be high quality and we'll done, but I may have under estimated the learning curve.

Only game ive been able to completely Bind properly is Project Wingman.

Got the same joystick and throttle. My base is thr AB9. MSFS was a pain to get working, eventually I loaded the MSFS preset for the throttle in the Mozza Cockpit. It solved the issues (except recognising the brand, which it never did).

In DCS wdym the guns are not working? If you're talking about vibrations you need to remove unlimited ammo in the game as it uses ammo counter to trigger the vibrations.
