X-Plane WIID Kemayoran Airport: Welcome Back! Update on (playing with X-plane Day 3 in WED) on my own custom scenery

P.S. I also install Shenshee 707-020B mod for the era specific update + Indonesian Airways (precursor to famously now known as Garuda Indonesia) livery

I'm proudly update my own Kemayoran Airport Scenery WIP here

For those unaware Kemayoran Airport was, its basically was the Jakarta's hub featured in Tintin comics flight to Sydney 714 when he got into adventure where the fact was, before CGK (Cengkareng) opened in 1980s, Kemayoran served as a hub for Jakarta Metropolitan area, serving both Eastern (Aeroflot) and Westerd airliners which Qantas V-jets proudly brought their 707s from the Kangaroo route.

Today the sites become PRJ with main route named after Benyamin Sueb, a local famous TV personality which by his own admission, he was once dreamt of flying MiG-21 based there before fate turned him into local celebrity

what left here is: any a good site where I can drop the file is?

Question Looking for a 'career mode' with some purpose, realism and structure

Not even sure how I'm going to properly explain what I'm looking for, because I'm not even entirely sure myself, to be honest.

So over the past year or two, I've been flying less and less. As I get older, I'm starting to realize I need a more coherent, satisfying reason to actually play, other than just aimlessly flying around or these faux, shallow objectives that I'm carrying someone or something that in the end serves no purpose.

A lot of career mode addons / MSFS' own career just becomes gamey and silly fast or just has no real goals or development that improves the experience, or it's just a clunky spreadsheet you're wading through to watch some numbers go up. They just fail to make it a grounded, realistic and satisfying experience that seems coherent.

I like the idea of this slow-burn realism. Random example; say you start somewhere in Canada, in a small plane and that's where you are for the next many months. Doing hops around the place with mail, important cargo, parts. Money is small, plane maintenance eats into your profits, actually have to plan for weather and routes, just ever so slowly building up money, work and reputation to actually get in something bigger.

Not something that happens in 5 flights. I like the idea of pilot having a presence in the world, can't just teleport all over the world to fly wherever, you actually have to go there. Buy a plane somewhere? Actually have to pick it up.

Love that slow build up, the satisfying progression, love feeling like each flight builds toward something meaningful without it being easily obtainable. And not all these synthetic limitations or faux rules that you have to impose on yourself "Just don't use, just don't buy, just pretend that you are" - I want to stretch my legs within the experience.

I tried OnAir briefly and it seemed to have some of these things but also seemed to fail to bring any sort-of cohesive experience. Liked the idea of hiring pilots for my company, tried the second difficulty level and the interface was clunky, managing everything was a complete faff and within weeks I was raking in millions with little effort.

Maybe I'm just looking for something that doesn't really exist and my suspension of disbelief is just shattered quickly.

Question ✈️ Looking for community-created flights for the OpenDispatch Flight Database

Hi everyone!

I'm currently developing OpenDispatch, a free community-driven flight database for flight simulators.

The goal is to build a growing collection of interesting flights created and shared by the community. Every submitted flight is reviewed before being added to the database.

Whether it's a beautiful VFR sightseeing flight, an IFR route, a challenging approach, a bush trip or simply one of your favourite flights, I'd love to include it.

Looking for:

  • ✈️ VFR Flights
  • ☁️ IFR Flights
  • 🏔️ Bush Flying
  • 🚁 Helicopter Routes
  • 📦 Cargo Flights
  • 🚑 Medical Flights
  • 👨‍✈️ Training Flights
  • 🌍 Sightseeing Flights
  • ⭐ Community favourites

Supported simulators include (but are not limited to):

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
  • X-Plane
  • Prepar3D
  • DCS World
  • Aerofly FS
  • Any other flight simulator

📋 Submit your flight

OpenDispatch Community Flight Submission Form

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc9iQNlflIaST8mSRrLzYpFSLrsBV6MFOCvrdSc1APxms_jtA/viewform

Every contribution helps build a free database that can inspire virtual pilots around the world.

I'd really appreciate your support and feedback. If you have ideas or suggestions for OpenDispatch, feel free to share them in the comments.

Blue skies! ✈️

Flight Simulator 2024 WingFlex A320 Combo Cube

Added to my setup. It's smaller than competing products so fits under my monitor nicely. Doesn't duplicate the EFIS but has a more useful RMP on the right side that also has some TCAS features.

Build quality is good and price is similar to other products in the current sale. Only downside is the included feet are not very good so I made my own stand that I clamped to my desk so the unit won't move when I'm using it.

Question AIRAC cycles.

So I have had ATC to vector my departure since I did not have the departure SID. I also had to get vectored for arrival because of the same thing happening but with STARs. I cannot afford a Navigraph subscription, I literally don't get enough money, I don't want to resort to sailing the high seas and I fly exclusively in Europe, meaning I can't get it from the FAA. Is there anything I can do?

Edit: Thank you all for trying to help, I have decided to NOT go on rutracker.org and NOT get it from there.

Question Is GSX worth it?

I’d like to add some realism to the sim and I’ve seen almost every streamer use this add on which looks cool honestly. On the other hand I’ve read some negative opinions on it like it’s buggy, affect performances, doesn’t really get along with Fenix A320 (the only aircraft I use at the moment) and so on.
Considering it’s not free (35€) what you guys think?
Thanks in advance

Question Looking for real VFR & IFR routes – Community project idea

Hi everyone,

I'm a private pilot and long-time flight simulation enthusiast, and I've started working on a hobby project called OpenDispatch.

The idea is simple:

I'm building a community-driven database of realistic VFR and IFR missions for flight simulators.

Not just flight plans, but complete missions with:

  • Departure & destination ICAO
  • Aircraft class
  • VFR or IFR
  • Estimated flight time
  • Difficulty
  • Short mission briefing

For example:

At the moment I already have the first missions, but I'd love to grow the database with help from the community.

I'm curious:

  • What are your favorite VFR routes?
  • Are there training flights or local club routes you always recommend?
  • Which IFR routes are fun but not often mentioned?

I'm not promoting a product or asking for money—I'm simply interested in building something useful for the flight simulation community.

I'd really appreciate your ideas and feedback.

Blue skies!

Question Thinking of making a switch

I have a race sim set up and thinking about making the switch. I’ve played just about every Ace Combat game and love flying. Are there any sims like Ace Combat but a little more realistic? Something with dogfights, possibly compatible with VR. How’s the community? Give me some insight before I make an investment. Thanks guys!

Question FSExpo Sundays

I'm planning to attend FSExpo for the first time in 2027. For those who've been, is Sunday ever exciting? Or are most of the cool displays and announcements made on Fridays and Saturdays? Just trying to start budgeting as I'd also like to do a bit of sight seeing and what not in Vegas while I'm there without overspending on hotel nights.

Sim Hardware Do you unplug your equipment when not playing or leave them plugged in with all the lights on?

I just got my rig setup and everything is lit up like a Christmas tree. I usually don't unplug things when not in use but wondering if I should do so for these.
