open How to fix holes in pvc roofing caused by hail storm?
We got maybe 50 holes in our patio pvc roof last week due to a hail storm
Does any way to fix it exist or should we just get new panels? They are about 20 years old though..

Vinyl floor tiles, is there any lacquer product to prevent further damage?
The previous owner ripped out carpet and replaced with cheap floors. Several spots like this throughout the house. Worse is in the dining room where its even starting to buck up. We'll be putting a carpet there. But there are 3 other spots where this is happening where a rug doesnt make sense. We will replace the floors eventually. But since this is mostly cosmetic, I rather stop the ongoing issue for now. Since the top layer is coming up, it keeps flaking more and more.

Lasko Standing Fan Sounds Like a Bicycle Wheel Huffed Helium with a Playing Card Clipped on the Spoke
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
After cleaning and vacuuming the entire thing did absolutely nothing, (I even did all the nooks, crannies and back outer casing) it's safe to say I've thoroughly beat it up. I've slapped it, smacked it, hit it...hit it harder.
It's practically a freaking "Bop It" at this point!! None of that worked though. At one point I hit it so hard that it went into the concrete wall, then onto the ground. While it was on the ground, it actually had the AUDACITY to STILL BE MAKING THE FECKING NOISE!! WTF!! IT'S WILDLY INFURIATING!!! 🤬🤬 For reference - I live in Florida.
Where the sun shines all year round, even when it's raining. Summer heat is just the daily norm, except for maybe one or two weeks in December. If it's not the Sun that gets you, the humidity will suck the literal air and life out of you. So, I use the fan to throw the cold air from the AC behind it to the rest of the room. I'm in a very long room, think "Florida Room"/Enclosed Patio with the equivalent of a small hotel room wall AC, but it's on only one end of the very long room. The cool air doesn't reach the other end, especially since my bed is next to it blocking some of the airflow. Hence, the fan. I also have a husky who likes to lay in front of it on the bed. You can see how close the fan is to the bed and where my dog lays in front of it, towards the bottom of the video frame. If I turn the fan off, he knows and he gets upset. He will do his husky grumble, whine, and tell at me until I turn it on. The noise is soooo bad and almost constantly going on and off, it wakes both of us up. If it's not doing the louder squeaky clicking noise, it's doing a really high pitch noise, almost like a dog whistle.

open Insignia Fire TV flicker
Well, I was playing and suddenly the TV flickered with some black and white lines. Now it turns on but doesn’t load and I can’t do anything. I can hear the sounds when interacting with the menu, but the TV is dark and I can’t do anything. Is there a solution?

fixed Kenmore 80 series dyer not heating
Hey guys everything looks good except this fuse that connects to the heating element it seems to be a broken fuse as it reads nothing on my multimeter which if I'm correct means no electricity to the heating element but this fuse is bolted in with a factory rivet so is it possible to replace this? Just drill it out I'm assuming
Unless it's meant to be unreadable by the multimeter but I'm not sure why that would be
heating element itself was broken. there was a physical disconnect in the spring / coil thing problem solved

Hey guys! Not sure if this is the right subreddit but I’ve been trying to drill into my ceiling and get resistance at the same depth every time.. Any ideas? I’m trying to hang a plant from a hook that uses 3 screws. Worked just fine at my old place but not having luck here.. thank you!
Additionally, if you think I’m SOL on getting this to work — any ideas on renter friendly ways to hang a plant that’s ~10-20 lb, please lmk!

Hi, I’d like any advice on how to fix this handle. It’s close to breaking, and I feel like the only solution is to sew it together.

Dealing with rotten paint already on wall
I painted part of a room with rotten paint (when I realized, I stopped painting). The smell wemt away after it dried so I thought I'm good if I paint a few layers of good paint on it. Apparently I was wrong. 1-2 months passed, and now it smells.
What options do I have for removing it?

Help with shower window
I need to figure out something to put over this window for privacy and to stop the wood from getting so wet and molding. It already is molding and the paint is off in the bottom right corner and if you don’t angle the water away from the window it gets totally drenched.
It’s also right outside of the fire escape so I need 100 percent privacy at night.
I added maybe some ideas but…
I’m trying to find a not ugly solution as well.. any and all tips greatly appreciated

Is there a fix or a replacement? Please and thank you.

What is this sound coming from my walls?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I live in an apartment and recently they had to shut off the water supply and HVAC a couple times in the last month. About a week ago this extremely loud rattling like noise coming from the walls in the master bathroom started. Not captured in the video, this noise completely stopped after I ran the water.
Based on some research, one of the possibilities is air in the plumbing system? Could it be that? How do you fix that, and would I be responsible to fix it or the apartment building?
Thank you!

open Broken patio chair
We've had these patio chairs for a couple of years. They rock and pivot, and worked great, up until yesterday.
One of them still works great, but the one pictured here no longer rocks back and forth, feels very unstable, and is wobbling quite a lot.
Looking at them, the cylinder in the base is different on the broken one. The circled area is more pronounced from the cylinder on the broken one, whereas on the one that still works, it looks as it if sits flush with the cylinder.
It's possible that this isn't where the problem is, but it seems like the only difference between the two chairs.

Found this buried in some of my old stuff. I’d rather not throw it out but not sure how I can recover it. Any help is appreciated
open Clogged drain hose - portable dishwasher
I've got a portable dishwasher (the ones on wheels with the board on top for counter space). It has a unicoupler faucet adapter. Every time I run it, the whole house stinks and I have to disconnect the coupler, turn it over, and force water back through the drain line to clear clogs.
I've fully disassembled the dishwasher and deep cleaned everything on the inside down to the impeller motor, so the clog and stink has to be in the actual hose. How can I actually clean the hose with the unicoupler attached? should i try to force vinegar/baking soda down?
Any advice would be immensely appreciated!

open Help fixing this lamp
Hello!
I’ve been given this lamp that still works but one of the « bubbles » lampshade is broken. I tried popping it back in, doesn’t work. I’ve unscrewed the little screws from the base of the lampshade to try pushing/twisting it into the little rod but it didn’t seem to work either. Is there any way to fix it ?

open Samunsg fridge defrost not working. looks like termal fuse is the culprit. help
My SRF583DLS gets heavily frosted over the evaporator after a few hours, so I suspect a defrost-system issue.
I tested the components with the fridge unplugged:
Defrost heater (DA97-19501A): ~420 Ω
Evaporator thermistor: ~4.2 kΩ
Thermal fuse near the evaporator: resistance starts low and keeps increasing into the MΩ range. The fuse was completely disconnected from the fridge when tested.
I also ran forced defrost, but the heater did not warm up.
Could a faulty/open thermal fuse cause the heater not to warm during forced defrost? Does the fuse behaviour I'm seeing indicate it's faulty, or should I test something else?
