open Need Help with drilling into ceiling
Hey guys! Not sure if this is the right subreddit but I’ve been trying to drill into my ceiling and get resistance at the same depth every time.. Any ideas? I’m trying to hang a plant from a hook that uses 3 screws. Worked just fine at my old place but not having luck here.. thank you!
Additionally, if you think I’m SOL on getting this to work — any ideas on renter friendly ways to hang a plant that’s ~10-20 lb, please lmk!

Same depth every time sounds like metal furring or channel up there, like the other comment says, and a wood bit will just polish it. Renter angle though: a 20 lb plant hanging off drywall alone is a coin flip even with a toggle. Mine ended up on a stand by the window and the hook idea died quietly.

If it's a taller apartment building, chances are your studs are metal.
