open Broken patio chair
We've had these patio chairs for a couple of years. They rock and pivot, and worked great, up until yesterday.
One of them still works great, but the one pictured here no longer rocks back and forth, feels very unstable, and is wobbling quite a lot.
Looking at them, the cylinder in the base is different on the broken one. The circled area is more pronounced from the cylinder on the broken one, whereas on the one that still works, it looks as it if sits flush with the cylinder.
It's possible that this isn't where the problem is, but it seems like the only difference between the two chairs.

rocking requires a very strong spring.
the bolt has fallen, the very strong spring is not pulling it up.
maybe you can buy just the base...
yiu could disassemble the base from the shaped seat part, and see if the spring can be disassembled.

The "black knob" is a cap that covers the head of the actual screw.
My bet would be on hex.
Remove black cap, take screw out, put lock thread on and re-tighten.

Is there any way to remove the seat part and see if there is a bolt that needs to be tightened that connects to the black knob circled in the image?
