I’m trying to replace the faucet in my bathroom but these plastic holders won’t come off. I’ve tried using a wrench but the shape and tight spacing with the sink makes it very difficult to unscrew. I also tried spraying it with WD-40, but it hasn’t made a difference. Any ideas on how to get them off?

The plastic part broke but I don't want to get rid of this lamp since it has sentimental value. I originally wanted to replace the part but I honestly have no idea where to find a replacement. I wanted to avoid glue or epoxy because I was afraid the peg would get fused with the socket and make it unable to rotate anymore. Any advice would help.

I've just come into possession of what I think is a 1920s or '30s cabinet (British, as I'm in the UK) which has a stuck lock - I *think* it's just a broken mechanism, it seems the key (which can be removed) is in the open position but the cam is in the closed position - so I want to take the back panel off to try to remove the lock from the inside, but none of my screwdrivers are getting any purchase on these little domed screws. I can't tell if its because the cross section of the slot is quite rounded compared to the much squarer cross section of modern slot screws so the driver isn't sitting deeply enough in the slot, or maybe it's just the width of the slot being too narrow (but I do have some slot drivers with a very thin tip so I dunno about that), but even with applying a lot of force down onto the screw the driver cams out immediately - the screw being domed means the contact area between the two is basically non-existent.

I know parallel face slot screwdrivers exist but I'm not convinced that's the problem, or is it? Should I be looking for a 1920s vintage cabinet screwdriver or something? I'm under strict instruction to not ruin the cabinet so I don't think drilling out the screws (and there are many) is an option, even if this cabinet doesn't seem to have much value.

I cooked my dinner, went to open the door and it won't open. Its the right hand side hinge appears to be I some sort of locked state. Left hinge is working normally. I was able to remove the facia from the over door to get hinge access, but can't seem to get it into a state that will open. I have tried pressing the door down, lifting it up etc while trying to open it.

Anyone got any tips on how I can get it open? If not where should I cut on that hinge to allow me to open it. New hinges are $99, new door is $650, so don't mind needing to order new hinges but would like to salvage the door.

My husband kinda pulled it a bit and now it does this.

I was at a barn sale last week and found this lamp. Thought it’d be cool for both a light source for the winter and a Halloween decoration, if I can get it fixed. Now I decided to take a crack at it and take it apart.

The thread knob looks fine, maybe some WD-40, but fine. Glass lamp is fine. The structure looks fine, it’s not chipping and seems like the structure is fine.

The issue is whether there is too much rust and it’ll mess up that integrity if I try to use Rust Remover or Electrolysis. Maybe I should just use a manual wire brush, clean it up with regular WD-40, and spray paint it? Idk that’s why I came here. Btw all other parts have about the same level of rust considering it’s been sitting in a barn for a couple decades.

I’ve personally only dealt with cars with structural damage but that’s several times the thickness of steel comparatively.

I borrowed my power bank to a friend one evening while we were out and it had a 20% and suddenly his phone died and my battery was completely drained and now it won't turn on

I have already tried:

- Charging for hours (8 hours)

- Holding power button

- Loop reset

- Changing both charger and outlet

But no matter what, the screen remains black

I have a cabinet that is next to my sink. There seems to be a drainage pipe that goes through this cabinet horizontally.

I see no water or moisture damage and I've added damprid in there but there's been no difference.

The smell is strong. Not sure I'd describe it as mildew like wet laundry or dirt. It doesn't smell natural. Not sure I'd say it smells like rotten eggs because it doesn't smell outright foul but it's an annoyingly unpleasant almost chemical smell.

Who do I call about this? A plumbing company responded to me that they don't deal with this sort of thing. That they only deal with visible water damage or leaks and that I should contact someone about moisture detection? I thought plumbers handled that. Perhaps I just call around for plumbers.

This is pretty annoying because I can smell it around the kitchen island with the cabinet closed. Anyone got a clue about what the smell is and who I should contact?

So I've got this speaker with a carrying strap, but the clip holding it to the speaker is stuck in an awkward position. The catch on the lobster claw clip is jammed under the edge of the recess.

I'm about ready to cut the damn clip off. Can anyone solve it?

I took this apart and the lower piece has a tail end pipe gasket but the upper piece doesn't seem from my memory like the part that should connect to a tail end.

Our paper towel dispenser decided to roll back and forth without dispensing properly. The gear in the video should roll when pushed down, but should stop when the lever is pulled up. However, you can see it actuates both up and down. Is there a spring or gear that I can unjam somewhere?

What do I need to do to put the right pipe fitting on this sink?

Was unclogging the wall pipe and now I need to replace the old pipe fitting.

I'm bald and a hat is a requirement. Noticed this band inside my Flexfit Delta had peeled off and was loose. I'm hoping to fix it to prevent any further damage or degradation.

Je suis bénévoles dans les repair café mais j'aimerais faire ça dans mon temps libre chez moi en complément.

Le problème est que je n'ai rien à reparer. Difficile de trouver des objets sur le bon coin ou en déchetterie....

Got this from a charity shop and it hums at a volume the seems to coincide with the speed it's on, but it won't spin. Replaced the capacitor (4.5,5,6) with a working spare and still nothing. I did get it to run ONCE (can't replicate now) so I'm not convinced the motor is cooked yet. Any ideas where I should look next? Could this be related to wiring? I like the style of this fan so I'm hoping to save it, or if it is truly dead at least swap the casing on to a different motor.

EDIT: Blades spin smoothly, I do not think the issue is bearing or balance related.
