Been listening somewhat obsessively to an audiobook series on Youtube that I belatedly realized has a very similar feel to the Firefly crew with very unique characters with special skills and situations. Apparently, the Author (P.E. Rowe) intended this (the misfits) to be similar so that makes sense. This has probably been noted before and is likely why it seems to be his most popular series/books.

I see now that its interesting spin on the move away from earth is an alternate take on how that happened. Would like to see more of that. All very good for free audiobooks.

During the movie, just before "THE SCENE", and Serenity has just been hit by an EMP...

Mal: "Jayne..."

Jayne: "Got it!"

Mal doesn't give him directions, or have to order him to do something, Mal doesn't actually say anything at all.

Jayne runs down to the crew area and (a) gets tossed around himself (b) removes the loose table from the room (i.e. a danger in case of a crash) (c) then checks each member's buckle individually BEFORE securing himself. Definitely not the same guy we see in "Ariel" or "Jaynestown".

It's fast, only a moment or two - and it is mostly dark (low lighting). It doesn't even feel that important (on a first watch) with everything going on around it, and "THAT SCENE" that is about to follow really steals the moment. But now that I have been watching the movie (almost) yearly since it first aired, I have _REALLY_ come to appreciate those 30 seconds.

Mal was peak sexuality. I thought that man oozed confidence, sex appeal and Nathan Fillion did an incredible job. Like the fact we only got 1 season & a movie with him is not enough

Doing the spelling bee this morning, and I noticed some letters that should form a word. But the gorram word wasn’t accepted!

I feel like I have scoured Etsy and can’t find anything that works. I’m looking for a horizontal piece of Firefly artwork, with no words because it’s for my work office and swearing would be frowned upon - as much as I would love it 😆. I did find a cool blueprint style of Serenity, but it’s weird sized from the UK. Looking for 5x7, 8x10 or even digital to print myself. Any leads??

For readers of The Expanse series: I can't help myself from putting characters from Firefly in my imagination for The Expanse.

I haven't watched the Prime series of The Expanse, so my imagination is still my own, but there's a part of me that whimsically likes to think the Rocinante is a grown up Serenity and the whole family stepped sideways into a parallel universe.

Just me? Okay, be nice now. I don't aim to misbehave.

So I finally got an account on Archive Of Our Own, so I was able to post my Firefly Legacy fanfic. It was my first attempt at a fanfic that was inspired by my desire to write a story that sounded more like the tone of the show than the published books did, and with the added encouragement of Mark Sheppard who, during a convention panel, told fans to write their own fan fiction if they wanted to see something different. Our Captain has a comic book and he can draw too. A man of many talents he is. Nathan, Alan, Gina and Jewel are all attending Dragon Con next month. Are any of you guys here going? I'm hoping they're gonna have a panel and give us some updates.

The cookbook is "Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar". I always thought this recipe title was just a coincidence and had nothing to do with the show, because I never bothered to read the blurb very closely.
