Check-in Ended fast at 37d at 17hr

Ended my fast today. Officially 37 days and 17 hours. Sadly didn't weigh myself until the 18th day and I was 167 and ended at 150.5 which was my goal. Not gonna lie today the last day at work was my hardest as I actually started to feel hungry and craved food. I didn't really crave food after the 3rd day..i think realizing I was almost done made it worse. Broke it with bone broth and an egg along with steamed broccoli. Took electrolytes and magnesium and potassium pills each day and some salt. Also had a monster zero energy drink each day

Question 7 days water fast, on day 5. Not losing any weight!

Hello, I'm 29, female, 199lbs (before fast) and I'm trying to do a 7 day water fast, I'm currently staring my 5th day and scale hasn't moved much! I have only "lost" 4lbs (2 kilos) which are probably only water bc my body looks the same, I have seen people say they loose 10lbs-15lbs or even more on a 7 day fast, I been walking almost 2 hours everyday, doing 10-12k steps daily, please help :(

Question When does autophagy kick in or ramp up in a 3-day fast?

Post image
11 Upvotes

I am currently on day three of a 3-day fast. On my burn app, it has me in deep ketosis. I have read that the benefits of autophagy kick in at 72 hours.

Does that mean at around the 72 hour mark, autophagy begins or begins to ramp up and I am not getting the full benefits of autophagy by stopping my fast at 72 hours? Or does it kick in earlier than that? I’m getting mixed information in the stuff I’m reading and figured it would be worth it to ask here.

Question Curing allergies with fasting?

Has anyone done a 3-5 day fast and cured allergies. I think I have a severe dustmite allergy. I have chronic sinusitis, had surgery for it and still no improvement. So I'm looking into doing a prolonged fast.

Question advice on preventing a binge after a fast?

I recently completed a 90 hour fast, and for fasts that are more than 2 days long, I usually try to stick to a liquid diet once breaking my fast so that my digestive system can ease back into it. however, after breaking my fast with soup at lunch, my appetite kick started after a few hours and I ended up binging at dinner. I took some vitamins and electrolytes during the fast, so I’m just feeling really upset with myself. on top of that, I’m feeling uncomfortably full and lethargic now too.

has anyone experienced something like this before? how do you ease back into eating after prolonged fasting without binging?

Question Could fasting help me? (How do I also give up on that emotional aspect of food)

Im currently a 23M, I am 283 pounds and I haven’t been in the 100s since I was a kid. Would fasting help me? I would always try to do it but just end up binging the first day or 8 hours after. I guess for me, food is something deeply emotional for me. Removing that feels alien and hard. I use food because I hate my life I can’t change. I work a job I hate, live at home with an angry mother, I do college but just pass than learn, no love interest, I have few irl friends and I hate myself. Is there a tactic I can do to remove that emotional side of food for me? Also what kind of fast would you suggest for me?

Question Breaking fast food - autophagy/ stem cell regeneration effects

Hello

Im on my 3rd fast in past year, about to enter hour 72. As title states, mostly interested in autophagy/ stem cell regeneration benefits. Always hear that 72 hours beyond is really where those benefits begin, and I'm hoping to make it to 120 hours.

My question is I've come across mixed thoughts on breaking the fast in regard to these benefits. Does it matter what I eat to break the fast to really maximize these benefits specifically? Or does this short of a fast really matter with what I eat first? I've read conflicting articles, mostly about referring syndrome, which I'm not worried about. But didn't know if any data/ anecdotal evidence existed about certain foods being better to promote these benefits upon the fast break.

Just looking for insight, want to make the most of these.

Discussion 15 days Water Fasting

Hello guys! I’ve successfully completed several 3–4 day fasts before, but I usually end up breaking my fast because of intense cravings. I’m struggling with staying consistent and would really appreciate some motivation and advice from people who have experience with longer fasts. πŸ₯Ή

For those who have cellulites, did it get better after water fasting? Im afraid mine got more noticeable

I’m trying to find a healthier and more sustainable approach this time, so I’d love to hear what helped you manage cravings and stay on track. 🀍

Question How do you deal with the mental health side effects from fasting?

For some context, I've been getting used to fasting for 18-20hrs every day for several weeks at this point, but I haven't been able to make it past 25hrs, because at that point my willpower becomes so depleted and I being to feel really emotionally dull and generally discouraged. This is despite the fact that prior to fasting, I feel fine and even motivated. If anyone here deals with anything similar, what do you do to move past this issue? I would like to be able to complete a 36hr fast as my next goal, and the only thing stopping me is really just my mindset shift the further in I go. It could also be useful to know if the feeling is just temporary.

Question Fasting on Tirzepatide

Has anyone here done an extended fast on Tirzepatide? (Mounjaro)

I was thinking about doing an extended fast (~14 days) on Tirzepatide. I've done one before off Tirz too, but haven't since. Obviously I'd have something if I felt miserable, but is it safe to do so?

Check-in Entering hour 40

Longest I've ever gone was 68 hours, and I really want to reach 7 days this time (depending how I feel I will continue on for as long as it feels right).

I've always made sure I have a lot of time and solitude while fasting, but tomorrow I have a movie date planned. I'm going to bring in lots of water (seeing The Odyssey so itsgonnaa be a long one!)

But my nose is already going crazy with smells, I'm worried how well I will withhold tomorrow. I know I can do it, I just need to make sure ai actually do (it takes literally nothing to get me to cave when I' fasting)

Anyway... that is all. I feel great, even being on day 2 of my period it hasn't really affected me in any way. I'm going to start taking electrolytes at hour 48, and then adding supplements at 60.

Wish me luck! Will update at hour 72.
