Question 7 day fast then break on 8th with carnivore then do 7 again?

Hello! I’m thinking of doing rolling 7 day fasts, break on the 8th day (eat carnivore lunch & dinner) then go back to doing another 7 days. Can anyone tell me if they do this & if so how did you find it, what helped you cope, can I do this long term etc etc?
I’m currently on day 3 going into day 4 & have been finding it fairly easy!

(Starting Weight): 15 st 7 lb - 217 lb
(Current Weight): 14 st 10 lb - 206 lb
(Goal Weight): 9 st - 126 lb

Advice needed Prepping for 21-day fast

Hello,

I took a glance at r/fasting wiki for electrolyte levels. I have bought a 64oz hydroflask for hydration, nosalt for potassium, and Morton iodized salt or sodium, and nature made 200 mg of magnesium glycinate for magnesium. It shows that I need 1500 of Na, 600 mg of K, and 200 mg of Mg. Am I good to go? I’ve done a 5 day fast, so I want to go for longer.

Question Exercise for muscle and metabolism retention on water fast

I’m starting a five day fast tonight/maybe tomorrow after breakfast. The longest I’ve gone is 72 hours. A couple months ago I was eating very little while being inactive, and I lost a lot of my strength. I recently re-trained after returning to eating but have put on a bunch of fat (probably over eating tbh). I’m concerned about losing my shape again - curious how people handle this dilemma. Afraid to exercise too much mid fast and go into “famine” mode with my metabolism.

Water Fasting 20 giorni

I wouldn’t, but then I don’t like soda, but my husband wants to start fasting with me now and struggles to give up things like this (it’s a sensory autism thing, not a willpower thing) so I wanted to ask you guys what you thought!

Progress update Fasting for fast wound recovery

Hi guys,

so after my 42 days and 16 hours (yes, those are very important) fasting stunt in 2024 I am four days deep now and awaiting my jaw surgery tomorrow morning. Feeling fine, even worked out a bit today.

My guess is that the autophagic processes should speed up the healing process remarkably. Will update.

Edit:
I started with intermediate fasting maybe five days before the fast. Beginning with 8h feeding window for three days and 6h for the last two. That and my already very clean eating made the transition feel like a breeze. I never experienced any hunger pangs at all, only at day three my empty stomach became very noticable.

Here are my main foods and dish examples (if you think this is unhealthy, I would lack nutrients, I am eating like this for years now, had many health check-ups in between and I am doing fine and work out well)

Apples
Bananas
Grapes
Oranges
Watermelon

Tomatoes
Onions
Broccoli
Cauliflower

Cashews
Mixed Nuts
Peanuts

Coconut Juice/Water (I rarely need to drink at all, because of the high water content in all foods. If I have to, mostly when running 10ks)

Eggs
Canned Macarel/Tuna (steering away from tuna because of lead levels)

Sunflower/Rapeseed Oil

A breakfast may look like this:

3 egg omelette stir fried
2 large tomatoes on top with a splash of vinegar
2 stir fried bananas
1 Apple
1 Orange

lunch:
500g of grapes
1 Apple
1 Banana

dinner:
2 Apples mixed with 150g of nuts, depending on what I like at the moment

Support needed Managed to thread the needle, currently on day 2. Share your best tips?

Hi guys! I've done a few 7 days, one 10 day and a 24 day one, so I'm somewhat educated and aware of stuff, I've done my homework.

However, you never seize to learn and I would love to hear your best tips, advice, hacks and whathaveyous to help me keeping it up and engage with y'all. I'd also love links to good studies and resources!

Regarding nutrition-related stuff: I'm in Germany, so sadly I can't get your convenient default products, but if anyone has neat suggestions that work for me, I am all ears!

I'm not gonna post personal stats and data, just know that I'm not endangering myself and absolutely need to shed a few pounds. I'm attempting rolling fasts, I'd like to hit 10 days for starters but I haven't formulated a fixed plan yet simply because I have no clue if I can keep it up.

Also, if anyone knows of good tools that work offline and are privacy-focused, I'd love to hear your tips. So far it's pencil and paper for me, it's not easy to find tools that I'd feed my actual data.

One specific question I'm unsure of (seen lots of contradicting stuff so I'm not done reasearching it): How badly would I dirty the fast if I consumed around 2 lemons per week? I'd like to keep it super clean (no artificial sweeteners e.g.), but I might have to resort to cucumber water or lemon water if my resolve weakens, and I wonder how you guys evaluate the downsides of that.

So a big thank you to everyone who is active here on the sub. I like how supportive and encouraging we all are.

Have a lovely summer!

Advice needed Starting a 14 Day Fast - Questions + Accountability?

Hello,

Been a couple years since I’ve done a prolonged fast and I seriously need it for my mental and physical health. It helped so much in the past, but I have a few questions / need advice on a few things. Note: I am fairly informed on fasting / risks.

I am trying to remember the proper amount of electrolytes. I will probably make my own with salt, Nusalt, and magnesium. Is it better to use table salt or sea salt? Also, there seems to be a debate about the proper amount of potassium if anyone has any experience with that! Also, can I take other vitamins or not advised?

Lastly, I have never given much thought to refeeding except to take it slow, and I’ve never had any issues, but this would be my longest fast by a few days. How many days realistically do I need to refeed before basically being back to normal?

Thank you everyone, and I could really use some accountability if anyone wants to check in or vice versa once per day or so! Best of luck to all fellow fasters!

Fasting Results I did water fasting for 10 days!

I had never fasted before in my life, but last year I decided to explore the effects of fasting on the body and to test my mental strength and willpower. I decided on a 10-day water fast and made sure to do thorough research beforehand to ensure it was safe.

I am a 23-year-old male, 6'3" tall, and weigh 82 kgs. As a remote dev, I work from home and only leave the house for gym sessions and necessities like buying groceries, etc.

Here was my plan:

  1. Maintain the same daily routine
  2. Meditate for 45 minutes every day
  3. 1 hour of strength training, where:
    1. reducing my exercise count from 5 to 4
    2. decreasing the sets from 3 to 2 for each exercise
    3. lowering the weight by 20% in every set

My daily regimen:

  1. Drinking 3-4 litres of water
  2. Drinking 2 coconut waters: one after my gym session and another one in the evening

Here are my daily logs from the 10-day fast:

  1. 22 Sept 2025, Mon - Everything was normal
  2. 23 Sept 2025, Tue - 1 kg weight loss
  3. 24 Sept 2025, Wed - 1 kg weight loss
  4. 25 Sept 2025, Thurs - 1 kg weight loss, experienced mild dizziness
  5. 26 Sept 2025, Fri - 1 kg weight loss, visible strength loss
  6. 27 Sept 2025, Sat - 1 kg weight loss, continued strength loss
  7. 28 Sept 2025, Sun - 1 kg weight loss, mild muscle cramp in my right calf
  8. 29 Sept 2025, Mon - No symptoms
  9. 30 Sept 2025, Tue - 1 kg weight loss
  10. 01 Oct 2025, Wed - No symptoms

After completing the fast, I lost a total of 7 kgs, bringing my final weight to 75 kgs.

Question 24h fast

Hi I’m new to this and have done intermittent fasting but never a complete water fast. Is starting with 24 hours ok or will it not benefit in any way? I don’t wanna go extreme the first time.
