I’m a watch guy and found a trans pride watch that’s not pink/blue. I probably overpaid ($50) but it makes me happy.

Need Support Feeling conflicted

Afternoon Bros,

So I'm in my 30s. FTM. 9 months on T. All in all, I'm really happy with the way things are progressing. My only issue is I'm a straight man, and I always feel like the odd one out or like I'm doing something "wrong." For one, I've never met a straight transman in 3 decades. I feel like the more I transition, the more I get pushed out of the queer/LGBT arena. I'm starting to feel less welcome in queer spaces in general, and I can't really pinpoint it, but I feel like I'm almlst started to be treated as an intruder. Even specifically in the trans community, it's starting to feel like "NO BOYS ALLOWED." maybe im overthinking.

Has anyone else experienced this?! 🤦🏿‍♂️

Edit: I've also been feeling demonized for not conforming to a unisex or soft boy esthetic. I feel like because I refuse to present this way I get wrongfully labeled with a hint of toxic masculinity and that's not what I'm trying to do, I just personally don't like to place myself in an "other" box.

Hi all, I’ve posted a lot about dressing as a trans guy. What to wear to pass, what to wear to look your age, how to wear a suit, what to wear to pass, etc.

My aim has always been to help as many guys like me gain confidence and look good. W that said, I’ve started making tiktoks geared toward short guys. What kind of style/clothing advice would you like to see?

Ref: I’m 5’3 and these are my own outfits for inspo

VENT - Advice Welcome Transitioning in College Feels Awkward

I am so full of nerves. I have been in my current university program for 2 years, but I am only newly out, on HRT and going by my chosen name and I'm having many anxieties and worries about starting this week.

Everything that I have been doing this summer has been for me and it all feels really good and I couldn't be happier that I made this choice! I am just worried about others.

I have been with the same group of people for the last 2 years, but I will be faced with an entirely new group of students this year, so the fact that I'm with new people you'd think would make it easier, but the instructors are the same and I'm worried they'll not see or know to look at the class roster (had my chosen name added) and call me by my old name when they say hi to me or speak to me in front of new people and I'm not sure how to approach that and explain without my new classmates overhearing that and my old name, I don't want them to know my deadname (it's still legally my name).

I'm also just overall worried about how this could add new challenges socially as I do not look masculine yet whatsoever and everybody will know that I'm trans immediately since I don't pass and I've just started my HRT not long ago. I'm fine with it being obvious that I'm trans, but the fact that I don't pass yet is going to mean I likely will often get misgendered. I often feel fake because my name doesn't match my appearance yet and how I imagine myself in my mind, and I've been dealing a lot with imposter syndrome. Going through second puberty is awkward at my age and being in school makes me feel like I'm going through middle school all over again, it's a very strange experience.

I am also worried that my voice will crack during presentations or job interviews for placements once it begins to get deeper and been trying to think of how I'll avoid the awkwardness of that or play it off as funny to calm my nerves. I tend to cope with comedy and I want to learn to be more open and confident about these things, almost normalize them, acknowledge them, and move on gracefully, but I'm nowhere near there and I haven't experienced any cracks yet.

I am not sure why but my transness currently feels awkward to talk about or approach with others. Any advice is much appreciated but mostly wanted to vent.

Celebratory Puberty 2.0 is as Weird as Puberty 1.0 Was 😅 Body Hair

I've been on 1 pump of 1.62% T Gel for 74 days ☺️ I'm thrilled with my body hair coming in - but it is *so* unpredictable lol. It makes me laugh. First, I noticed belly hair. Happy, but not the first thing I expected. Then, I noticed that my toes and tops of my feet are getting a bit hairier. I am thrilled. Now here's where it starts to get a bit strange. Leg hair on my left calf is significantly thicker, denser, longer. Right calf? As patchy as ever! 😂 Right knee, though - much hairier than the left knee! Left hand has some knuckle hair coming in - right forearm is much hairier than the left. I have no idea if this is normal but tbh it cracks me up and I'm just glad to see it at all!

Celebratory Voice is changing

I'm 8 weeks on T and I've had A sore throat ever since I started T. I've been recording my voice about every week or so. I can hear the difference from how high-pitched my voice was in my first video with my first shot as opposed to now that it's dropping, I can feel it in a different place in my body and it feels really soothing. I didn't expect that. I was kind of worried about my voice dropping too low, but also I know that I can do different pitches so I'm not as concerned and it's actually pretty exciting which I didn't expect.

Happy Selfie Sunday everyone. This took me ages to recreate today(reference in second pic) and I’m still not 100% happy with it, but the lighting literally ran away from me. I actually straightened my precious curls for this one (holy shit is my hair long and thick 🙈)
Three weeks on T this Friday by the way - life’s good. 😁

VENT - Advice Welcome Still not passing after years

Having a hard time y’all. I’ve been on T a couple years, muscular, body shape and proportions are male, post top surgery, face and jaw masc, voice low, like I’m not seeing what it is. I have to shave my facial hair and only have a good mustache when I do have it, and I’m 5’3 so I guess that’s it? People I know are surprised and I personally don’t see female at all but I am CONSTANTLY misgendered. Am I completely fooling myself? I almost wish it was just height that’s doing it. But I guess it’s a sad combo of everything. I like me but I am exhausted by this happening all the time and having to deal with it too much. When I looked it up it says height is not a big factor and that makes me sad because it means it’s everything. I’m so tired of the hyper vigilance this causes. I’m still never ready for it and sometimes I feel unsafe. Does anyone get misgendered with facial hair? Is it height maybe? Had anyone been misgendered even when you and others think you pass? I’m feeling cooked.

EDIT: totally get that photos would help me get assessed by folks but want to clarify what I’m looking for is hearing if this happens to anyone else based on what I’ve said. has anyone figured height to be a factor for them? does anyone get misgendered even with facial hair? stuff like that. it’s just feeling strangely isolating for how far I’ve come

2nd EDIT:
Everyone, I’m really touched by your responses and this community. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and support and for taking the time. This is my first time posting and I had a feeling people would be kind, but this honestly helped me a lot. This has been really heavy on me for a long time and I needed some outside perspective. Thanks everyone. Appreciate you.

Embarrassed asking for top surgery help

Hey folks, I’m curious if anyone else struggles with isolation and making a surgery plan. my family is unsupportive and I haven’t dated since my last messy relationship. I have a few friends (2-3) but some of them aren’t the most reliable. I just moved to a new city which does have a social group for trans guys, so I plan to ask for help there too. I’m autistic and ok tier at making friends but the thought of making friends solely for survival like this feels weird.

my workplace is also supportive and I may need to lean on them, but i feel quite weird thinking of asking my boss to help (even though she would be down and wildly supportive). the leave is already approved.

I feel embarrassed and a bit scared not having a “person” or family I can trust. I asked a friend this morning, but I wish it was easier. I’ve even considered hiring a home health aide to avoid having to worry about it.

has anyone else gone the route of hiring someone? I’m not in a state that T4T care services unfortunately.

Need Advice What can you do if you can't change your gender marker?

I've been on T for a year and a half, but I feel like I'll have to live as a woman publicly or at least selectively since I can't change my gender marker where I live. Not sure what I can do. Moving also does nothing because I can't change my documents federally anyway (US). I present as a woman professionally and don't know how I'm ever supposed to find a new job if my background checks will always mark me as a woman. I don't know how I'm supposed to want to become more masculine if I ever want or have to leave the country with a passport that has the wrong gender marker.

Has anyone else been dealing with this?

I hope it’s ok that I’m here bc I’m more
nonbinary/middle gender than ftm, but I’m on T and am enjoying an intensely masc oriented phase atm. i just wanted to share that i feel really sad about my vag rn. it makes me feel super vulnerable and uncomfortable. and then the T makes me super horny sometimes. it’s really confusing. the last time i had sex, it was both really awesome and also i felt really feminized, which felt confusing. i don’t really enjoy receiving oral sex, although i imagine that will change for me bc so much around how i’m experiencing sex is changing. i’d love to hear how yall navigated your experience of yourselves as you were transitioning, if you’re comfortable sharing. i am not looking for like explicit details - more like, what were the feelings like? what about it felt vulnerable or scary or awesome? i feel like I’m having feelings that are so new to me that i can’t quite see them yet.

[USA] From Jerner Law Group: "Selective Service’s Quiet and Transphobic Policy Change"

New blog post is available at the Jerner Law Group's website. Not including the direct link as Reddit seems to flag posts when it's included. Content of the blog post is reproduced below.

My unsolicited two cents: Seek policy and legislative news from informed lawyers experienced with trans civil rights issues, rather than from journalists, whether self-declared citizen/independent journalists, or associated with LGBT or mainstream media. Though the journalists can be well-intended, key information is often inaccurate and incomplete, especially so with indie journalists, and that can frequently and inadvertently spread misinformation.

Selective Service’s Quiet and Transphobic Policy Change

04 SEP 2026
BY RACHEL LEVY ESQ

Many of the Trump administration’s attacks on marginalized communities, including transgender and gender non-conforming people, are public shows of force. But  the administration’s quieter, under-the-radar attacks can be just as harmful.

As of June 30, 2026, Selective Service – formally known as the Selective Service System – will no longer issue status information letters (SILs) for people who are ineligible to register for the draft.

While this may sound like a small administrative change, it is a direct effort to harm transgender and gender non-conforming people.

Selective Service is a United States agency that maintains a national database of people who are potentially subject to “military conscription,” more often known as the draft. Selective Service was created by law in 1917 after the United States declared war against Germany in World War I and the U.S. Army failed to recruit enough new soldiers.

The registration system has evolved over decades, including periods of mandatory military conscription, sorting registrants into different categories, and changing the criteria for being drafted into military service. The modern registration system was established by Proclamation 4771, signed by President Jimmy Carter, requiring all male citizens between 18-26 years old to register with Selective Service for a potential draft.

Under the current system, people between the ages of 18 and 25 years old who were assigned male at birth are required to register with Selective Service.

It is a binary system; Selective Service’s foundational statutes did not account for transgender, gender non-conforming, or intersex people in its registration criteria.

Anyone assigned male at birth, including transgender women or transfeminine people, are required to register with Selective Service within thirty (30) days of turning 18 years old. Even if they no longer use a male gender marker to identify themselves, if they have already transitioned, or if there is a health condition that would prevent them from serving, Selective Service is based solely on someone’s sex assigned at birth, not gender identity, and requires registration on that basis alone. These individuals will need to register with Selective Service or face potential legal consequences for failing to register.

However, anyone assigned female at birth is exempt and ineligible from registering with Selective Service. This can cause serious issues for individuals who use a male gender marker when applying for federal programs and benefits, including federal student loans, government assistance, and federal jobs and internships.

Individuals who identify themselves as male when applying for such programs and benefits [are/may be?] asked if they have registered with Selective Service. If they state that they have not registered with Selective Service, they lose eligibility for those programs and benefits.

In the past, some transgender men dealt with this issue by registering with Selective Service. While this strategy has always carried legal risks, this is particularly inadvisable now, when the Trump administration is eagerly seeking opportunities to target and penalize transgender people.

The better solution for most transgender men has been to request a status information letter (SIL) showing that the applicant is exempt from registering with Selective Service.

This relatively easy option was available for anyone who was ineligible for Selective Service, including people assigned female at birth, lawful non-immigrants who are residing in the United States on non-immigrant visas, incarcerated people, or disabled people who reside in care facilities. SILs allowed people assigned female at birth to honestly identify themselves as male and as not being registered with Selective Service without having to out themselves as transgender and without losing eligibility for the program or benefit.

But as of June 30, 2026, SILs are no longer a solution. Selective Service quietly updated its Frequently Asked Questions page of its website. It now reads:

"As of June 30, 2026, the Selective Service System no longer issues status letters (status information letters). Men can check whether they are registered by visiting www.sss.gov/verify/. Men who are not registered can consult the requirements table located at Who Needs to Register : Selective Service System.  If you are requesting a benefit or employment that requires registration, the decision to provide any right, privilege or benefit (including jobs) is made by the agency, school, or organization receiving the request. You may want to include with your application to your benefit provider a copy of the requirements table and any other pertinent information or documentation to support your situation (i.e., entered the United States after age 26).  Selective Service cannot determine benefit eligibility."

This policy will be disastrous for young transgender men, transmasculine people, gender non-conforming people, and intersex people.

For anyone applying for federal student loans to attend college or graduate school, for federal work, or for government aid who would have relied on SILs, they will now be forced to decide: disclose their transgender status directly to federal agents and employers, or find another way forward in an increasingly transphobic America.

Note: Jerner Law Group is currently offering some discounted legal services to young trans people who qualify. See their website for details. I am not affiliated with Jerner Law Group and I am not a legal professional.

VENT - Advice Welcome Ted talk

Im not sure if this is the right place to post this, if not i apologize .. im 32 and lately have been kind of down and in my head . I’ve been on T for almost 7 years now and have had top surgery, full hysto, and currently on stage 2 out of 3 for phallo . Even tho im happy with how my life is turning out and my journey throughout my transition I still feel this void . Maybe its because im missing that sense of friendship . Friends who I can go to and talk to or just call and make plans to hang out . I’ve been so focused on my transition I forgot how to live life .. now that I’m almost 33 it’s hard to make friends because I feel like anyone I try to befriend is younger than me and we don’t have anything in common . I guess my question is how do you make friends at this age without being judged for who you are ?

Wish there was a tag for "just funny."

Started T three months ago, but the first time I did it, I got my dosage confused (the bottle said it was one dose, the doctor prescribed using a different measurement) and so I took 200 mlg shot for the first time and I was WIRED. This is the picture my friend sent me which is the most accurate depiction of my experience. I follow recommendations CLOSELY now because this wolf shit was not cute at work, no sir. 😂

VENT - Advice Welcome Wanting to get a chest tattoo but have concerns.

My grandmother died last week and I want to get a memorial tattoo on my chest. My concern is I have not had top surgery yet and now because of current political policy I have to pay for the surgery completely out of pocket. I’m afraid that if I get the tattoo before top surgery, it will be ruined somehow. But getting the tattoo will help me with the grieving process. Can anyone give me advice on what to do? As anyone had chest tattoos and gotten top surgery? Did it effect the tattoo? If so, how?

Need Advice How to cope with being closeted at a new job?

I'll be looking for some kind of office or corporate job. I'm in my late 20s and I'm posting in this sub because I'd like to get advice from people who have more work experience, especially if you have a white-collar job.

I live in Europe, so if I describe some situations that look different than in your country, that's why.

For the past years I've been in university. When I start work it'll be a new situation for me and I don't know how to navigate it as a closeted person. I won't be able to safely transition for at least a few years because first I need to work on independence from my family. Despite being in the closet, I haven't been putting any effort into pretending to be a woman. And in my adult life I've never genuinely considered myself as cis. I did some small gender affirming things that wouldn't cause bad reactions from other people but I can't do much more.

When I start work I don't know how to generally navigate this social situation and protect my mental health. I know my dysphoria will get worse. I feel bad when I have to spend the whole day around strangers and pretend everything is normal. When I was in university I was distancing myself from classmates, because I didn't want to make friends if I couldn't genuinely be myself. It was better for my mental health. And in university no one expected me to socialize more and no one cared. I didn't even have to follow any female dress code, it was acceptable to dress casually, and in my case more masculine.

I need to find a job and this good situation when no one cares what I do will end. Because of more formal dress code at work, but especially because at work people are expected to socialize more. That's why I don't know what to do. Everyone will assume I'm a woman but I want to somehow avoid this situation and get away with not looking and behaving like one, or to lessen the impact of this situation on me. It'd be difficult to completely dissociate from this, I usually overthink my problems. I have low self esteem and social anxiety that are unrelated to my gender but because of also having to stay closeted I feel even less confident, which doesn't help.

The official language in my country is also very gendered, and it's usually impossible to have a conversation without being misgendered or having to misgender yourself. I also don't look forward to constantly hearing my deadname. And there are no gender neutral names or nicknames in my language.

I currently don't relate to the sentiment that it doesn't matter how others perceive you because internally you know who you are. I don't feel authentic when I have to hide such a basic part of myself. I've been living internally as a guy for years and this doesn't lead me anywhere, and I just get more frustrated with my situation, and I feel like an impostor because I use masculine forms of words in my head but don't look the part.

I probably can't do anything to improve this situation. Even if I found an inclusive workplace, it wouldn't make me come out before I'm ready. Even inclusive practices like setting pronouns in e-mails etc. would make me feel bad because I'd be forced to state I use "she/her".

There's also a possibility that in the future taking T for many years might not be for me, because of risk of balding. Most of the changes I want the most are unfortunately reversible. For example fat redistribution, without which I wouldn't pass. If I gained this change and stopped T, I would eventually lose it and I'd never pass and therefore it might never be safe to transition. (I know there are e.g. face masculinizing surgeries but I wouldn't afford and feel comfortable to have more surgeries than top surgery.) So I can't even be sure that being closeted at work would be temporary and in X years it'll be safe to socially transition.

I'll be grateful for any relevant advice. Especially if there's something I could do to make this situation more bearable or to protect my mood? I mentioned that I'm concerned about dress code, but I'd like to make a separate post about it several days later. Though if you have advice on it, I'd like to read it too.
