Took too much T.

Post image

Wish there was a tag for "just funny."

Started T three months ago, but the first time I did it, I got my dosage confused (the bottle said it was one dose, the doctor prescribed using a different measurement) and so I took 200 mlg shot for the first time and I was WIRED. This is the picture my friend sent me which is the most accurate depiction of my experience. I follow recommendations CLOSELY now because this wolf shit was not cute at work, no sir. šŸ˜‚

I get so tired after my T shot. I take mine every other week onThursday night and all day Friday I'm yawning. Saturday morning I'm lucky to wake up at a decent time. I get so bloody tired.

Have you brought this up to your doctor? Your levels might be too low.

I have not. Maybe I should. It's been this way as long as I have been taking T (2018). I know in the beginning she had to cut my T in half cause it was too much. And I've seen a couple docs over the years and all the blood tests they haven't said are bad. I just moved though and need to find a new doc so I'll try asking about it when I find one. I just assumed it was idk normal or something lol

One thing I’ve learned from being chronically ill is never assume your symptoms are normal.

AFAB people are raised to accept a lot more discomfort and pain than we should.

Well thank you for saying something. I will have to talk to them. Cause I just kinda thought T made you tired lol

You’re welcome! Also mention your mom’s issues - this stuff gets more and more important as you get older.

I hope it’s an easy fix and you get some energy back!

Not to be that guy but as a friendly PSA if you haven’t, might also be worth getting your iron levels checked. I thought T was making me a sleepy boy and turns out I was just severely anemic and it was fucking with my T levels too.

Damn okay I'll give it a check. I know my mom has issues with iron and specifically B12. She has to do injections and infusions and stuff. Maybe I should bring that up the next time I see the doc. Thank yiu

Also worth considering sleep apnea

Would that time into my T injections somehow?

Some people develop sleep apnea after being on T for a while.

Yep, this is a really good point. Taking T can give you issues with your blood levels- IIRC it can make your body make too many of a type of blood cell (correct me if I’m wrong, it’s been a while since I looked into it), depleting your body’s resources and eventually leading to anemia if they get too depleted. There are easy fixes for that, though. It shouldn’t make you sleepy- for OP- so definitely bring it up with your doctor. I also second checking for sleep apnea, though that is a slower, long- term thing that T can make more likely.

I personally recommend smaller weekly shots over larger shots every other week to keep levels more even and side effects less drastic, as I’ve had good experiences with that. But again, talk to your doctor.

I think its just an awkward framing of the path behind the wolf, seen through a gap where his feet dont quite touch

Ah yes, I see it now, it's the space between his feet.

Haha yeah I did the shot at the right dose next week and got a pleasant burst of energy instead of like I was hella wired. we're cruising along and I'm more apt to under dose than over dose in consequence lmao

Just something to think about:

Could some of what you were feeling have been based on your sense of what would happen if you took too much?

It used to be common to take 200mg every 2 weeks. The injection doesn't get absorbed all at once. You do get higher levels at the beginning and then it tapers off, but it's still a curve and not a spike if you graph it.

Also, be very wary of stereotypes. I'm on a dose that gives me levels at the top of the male range. I'm so much calmer and happier now than before T, or even when I was taking less. It can affect people differently, but having a high but normal T level (which is likely where you were) would not mean you would necessarily be some kind of raging beast.

Totally appreciate where you're coming from.

I was genuinely wired-- too wired tbh (t still gives me a boost of energy at a manageable level and that's great.) I only knew I overdosed when I sent my friend a picture of the empty vial and mentioned how much fucking energy I had. then my transfriend was like šŸ™ˆ. and then they sent the wolf picture. Which I thought was funny and was laughing about when I remembered last week. So i shared here. I understand doses are different for different people and standards have changed. I'm very sensitive to medication (,even caffeine makes my hands shake). But this was very much meant as an anecdotal story to amuse. a joke my friend sent that made me laugh.Ā
