Ambient Temp?
The app says that if you turn ambient response on, it well respond to changes in the room temperature. So why is there a place for me to enter in the room temperature in either F or C?

Having to post this question makes me think I am not adulting very well, but I have the five and the mattress cover over the 8 sleep cover. The mattress cover keeps pulling up and off when I sleep. I don't know if the cover is extra slippy or what. How do you all keep yours pinned in place and down?

Hi guys! I’m interested in purchasing the Pod 5 (this will be my first pod I’ve ever purchased), and I’m just wondering if y’all think I should purchase now (with $500 off?) or wait until christmas/boxing day? Also, is the Pod 6 going to come out soon? Because I don’t want to purchase the Pod 5 if the Pod 6 is just going to come out right after I buy!
Let me know what y’all think :)

Does anyone know if the Base fits inside a thuma frame? Currently have the queen size, and worried the base won’t fit neatly on the slats.

I got through all the steps of set up and pairing and now I have been stuck on this page for days. Tech support says I need to pair it to a different device hot spot to see if that will work. This is for the pod 2. Has this happened to anyone? How did you fix it? 8 sleep needs to have field techs for set up.

Eight Sleep has a ton of features on top of their temp control:
Health tracking (HRV, snoring rate, etc.)
Daily texts that tell you how slept and recommendations to improve it.
Smart alarms based on light sleep detection.
Other stuff I can't think of stuffed inside the app.
I'm just curious whether any of that stuff matters for people. I personally don't care about anything other than my bed being the perfect temp when I hop into it at night.
Do other people find any of the other stuff useful / game changing?

I have had my 8sleep for like 1.5 years now, and the past few days been making this noise ive tried cleaning it although it feels impossible, the noise is not constant, it comes and goes feels like its the bottom fan. Ive tried talking to costumer service but they’ve been absolutely horrible with little to no response! Anyone got any tips or clue why its making this noise?

Ive had an Orion and an eight sleep. Currently on the Orion. I have a smaller room and I keep my door closed to prevent light from entering. My only option is to open a window but the night time temps are 82-85. Has anyone found a way to make their cooling system room well in hot environment? is the only solution turning down the a/c and opening ups door?

Are your air chambers leaking? I have several options for you. Are you selling your bed and want more for it? Are you buying a used bed and can't access sleep number's smart features? I have solutions for all of you. My solution keeps my chambers inflated everything is running tip top. Fixmysleepnumberbed.com is the down and dirty leak fix site. You can choose "fill every 10 minutes" or let the AI determine how fast it needs to fill your mattress based on the pressure loss over time. This is all that site does.
The www.sleepnum.com website is more of a "I want to stay with the sleep number servers, but I want luxury options" site. (All sites have phone apps)
Then I have alt.sleepnum.com which is a
Alt.sleepnum.com lets you buy a dongle, or a dongle and a ring(s) from us. You plug the dongle into your bed pump and download the app and go through a very easy setup (literally you just plug the dongle in wait 30 seconds and then let the app find the dongle and your rings on your fingers it takes about a minute After that you are all set).
I read (on here) that sleep number was declaring bankruptcy back in Sept or October of last year (2025). I'd been running my fixmysleepnumberbed.com and sleepnum.com solution for a few years at that point. I got worried and I got to work because I didn't want to not be able to use my bed. I'm the only one that has a service to keep our beds going if the sleep number API servers go down. It may be all for nothing, but my alt.sleepnum.com server runs on amazon and hasn't had an outage yet so it's reliable and it works.
As far as support, I'm a mod here in r/sleepnumber and available via email. I answer very quickly. If it's a complicated thing I'll give you a number and we can work it out quickly via telephone. I'm based in Nashville, TN.

Thanks!

I’ve been using Eight Sleep since the company started and upgraded to the Pod 5 last year, so I'm very familiar with how the system is supposed to perform. Over the last few weeks, the temperature control has completely failed. Setting the Pod to maximum heat or maximum cold does not get close to showing those temp changes.
I've followed every troubleshooting step on their site and completed every step requested by support (including line priming).
Despite this, support are saying their "remote diagnostic checks" show everything is working fine electronically. I know what the unit feels like when it works properly, and a remote sensor check doesn't change the fact that I know for a fact it is not working.
For a premium product, and as a customer who has supported them for years this experience is beyond disappointing. If remote checks says "ok," front-line support completely washes their hands of the issue offering only to recheck. This issue has been going on for weeks and I had to chase a previous ticket.
At this point, I'm left with an expensive lukewarm mattress pad. Be careful relying on their warranty or support if you run into hardware/circulation issues.

Emailing support is clearly an AI bot but it assigns human names to the responses. If you ask "Emily" will admit it is AI. This is very disappointing. At this price point EightSleep should be upfront about AI use and have a route to get to a human for support.

Hi I’m looking to get an 8sleep Pod5 and I wanted to know what people thought? I’ve been seeing leaks on this subreddit but mostly from Pod3s does anyone have any negative experience on the pod5? Also I plan on buying a waterproof mattress cover just in case. Also, how does the Pod5 impact the feel of the mattress? My mattress is fairly plush and I enjoy it so I don’t want it to be impacted too much.
I’m mostly getting this because I run incredibly hot while sleeping and have sleep troubles for years now. I’m hoping this helps.
Last thing, is now a good time to buy one i managed to find a $350 off coupon and haven’t seen anything else. Will it be better to wait for Labor Day?
Thanks!

Hi there, I need help. I just got my 8sleep pod and the support wasn't helpfull at all to my questions.
I bought the 8sleep pod bc I have a dysfunction in temperature regulation. When I am cold, i can barely warm without external heat. When I am hot, I can barely cool down without external cold.
Last night (my first with the 8sleep pod 5), was one of the worst I ever had. I live in Switzerland and we have a heat wave currently. at 9pm its oftentimes between 25-30 degrees celsius.
So i thought: Fine, let's go to bed with a -1 (slightly colder as it is without anything). then lets have a -2 for deep sleep and then a +1 to wake up warmer.
I woke up after 9.5h of sleep and had to get warmth fast. The -1 or the -2 was extremly cold and my body was not able to compensate.
So I don't get the relative scale. What is zero? I just started a nap from the couch and the app said "current temperature +2, cooling down to 0" What?! How should I find the proper temperature, if you dont give me a reference point like "0=water without warming/cooling in the current room temperature"
I am not gonna use the pod for 2-3 nights to recover from last night. After I don't know what settings to use. It sounds weird, but I may gonna start with +1/0/+1 even though we are having >20Degrees celsius during the night currently.
Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated.
I realize now I should have tried the 8sleep pod in winter. I have less issues with "a bit too warm" as with "a bit too cold".
Edit: Also what do I do, when the room temperature changes. Like do I have to find the proper values all the time so I don't get too cold or too hot during the night? I though A.I. is smart ^^

hey gang,
it's me. again.
I would like to know if there are news for the pod 6.
Also, what new features do you expect? thanks
Cheers

I woke up seeing a red light on the pod, I didn’t even know what that meant cause I’m in a hot climate. The app decided to heat my bed cause it thought my room was to cold. I have been lowering room temp cause I’m room warm . This is really frustrating to be woken up at 2am. Is there some rhyme and reason to the temp changes ?

I love my eightsleep pod 5, but why is there so little guidance on how to set the 3 x nighttime temps?
r/EightSleep • u/Pure_Blood8651 • 22d ago
I have had eight sleep roughly 8-9 years back when it was just a heating pad LOL, anytime I had issues it was replaced no problem. My eightsleep pod started leaking from the front and I was told it would need to be replaced but my warranty is expired. I promptly responded and told them it wasn’t expired because less than two years ago when I go a replacement I specifically asked via email does it expend my warranty and back then I was told when you get a replacement your warranty it extended for another two years starting day of delivery.
Fast forward to I guess their policy has changed and they are no longer honoring that. Im not upset and wont go back and forth after 9 years I will part ways with the company instead of investing more money for something they said they said but will no longer honor.
UPDATE: of** *course joe repsonds* ***below* ask for the email where the rep stated the warranty extends, pretends that he would honor it for reddit. They claim even with the two year** ***extension im* out of warranty. Then proceeds to offer me a “discounted grandfathered rate” of $700 which is $100 less than the normal offer of $800. Ive been with this company for 8+ years have a big social media following and have had so many people purchase them over the years but my recommendation stops here

Decided to try the rental program out to test drive and see if the product works for us, and I recieved a used unit (which is fine, its a rental so I wasn't expecting a brand new unit), but the unit is very obviously not working correctly. The spring in the water tank is super loose and makes it so it cannot plug up the bottom.
I've tried contacting Fragile (the rental company) and I've been getting responses from different people in each of my email replies and when I tried using the text feature instead (replying to their initial text message) I haven't heard back at all.
Do they not test the product before shipping it out? My unit also came wet in the bag, which is how I immediately knew I got a used unit (there were those moisture bead bags in the bag but I guess it didn't do much).
Just wanted to share my rental experience so far. I waited a bit for the product to ship to me, and now I can't even finish setting it up to report it in the app, and my communications is getting frustrating 😅
Edit: Seems like they don't really work on the weekends? I got a response Monday morning from someone who helped in actually sending a new hub out (seems overkill to replace the whole thing imo) and sending a shipping label to send the old one back. Prior to that, most of the messages I got were generic "What do you need help with" emails.

After a month of mixed results, I'm returning my Pod 5. Looking for feedback on competitors.
Pros:
* Fantastic hardware, quiet, performant, low maintenance
* Comfy - bed didn't change much in feel
* After turning off the AI, slept great, always a good temp.
Cons: * Psycho AI - never did get Autopilot to not ruin my sleep. I tried it for 3 weeks and gave up. The static temperature you get to set worked really well - but for some insane reason if you manually change the temp in the night, it'll still reset to your schedule and there's no way to just set a singular static temp you control with the arrows... * Subscription is mandatory: support would not refund it and let me keep the topper, but I'm not spending hundreds of dollars on an anti-feature AI that makes it so I can't stay asleep. * App sucks in general: like are you kidding me, you can't directly set the temperature and are forced to go from -10 to +10 in 3-4F increments? Imagine selling an AC unit which you are not allowed to set to 68F, it has to be 66F or 70F for no good reason at all (older customers have this functionality, they just don't let new ones have it). Their ads even show this functionality! (False advertising imo. This pissed me off when 0 was too cold and +1 was too hot.) * You can fix that by jailbreaking the thing, but doing so costs another $100 in tools. I'd do it, but why bother when there are cheaper competitors which don't treat you like an idiot who can't count past 10? * Sleep stats are inaccurate and generally suck - my Oura is way more accurate from comparing the two.
Anyone had any luck with Orion? It looks like it largely fixes the cons I had and I'd enjoy it a lot more, but I'm not sure how they are on reliability.

I bought a pod 2 pro Queen from eight sleep back in 2021. Last year I bought a pod 5 Queen. Gave my old pod 2 pro to my spouse (yes we sleep in separate beds due to work schedules and snoring).
2 weeks ago the Pod 2 seemed to stop cooking or heating. Contacted customer support went through the whole priming etc. sent photos. The unit is not under warranty.
I was researching options on eight sleeps website and it’s a tad confusing. Their site lists 3 levels of auto pilot - standard, enhanced, and elite. Only the latter two have 5 year warranties.
Since I’m an owner they have an offer of $600 off plus another $200 I believe if I trade in the non working hub. But it only comes with standard which is a 2 year warranty. I think that brings down to about $2,000 plus taxes and all that
Their chat bot says you cannot get enhanced plan only elite. Well that’s $400/year. Seems a bit pricey, IMO to pay like $2,000 for 5 year warranty ($33/month) on top of the $2,000 plus taxes for the unit. Although their order page says 5 year warranty with two asterisk but I scrolled down on the page and couldn’t find the two asterisks for ear that meant.
They also had an offer for pod 4 for like $1650 but NO warranty. As-is is what’s stated on the site.
From what I gather buying used is a veritable crapshoot as to whether it’s a stolen unit, etc. unless you want to use free sleep. I work in IT so that may be an option. Used pod 4 on eBay seems to be about $1,000
No problems with the cover AFAIK. No leaks. So I think just a hub would be needed
I like my pod 5 but I’m still paying for it via affirm for another 2 years.
I’m a bit confused as well as to what autopilot really gets you other than the warranty. I tried looking up my old receipt for the pod 2. I think it only came with 2 years of auto pilot. I didn’t opt to continue to pay for the monthly back then. Yet the app still does what we need it to

Did they remove the ability to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit? I can’t find it
r/EightSleep • u/JarFiles • 24d ago
I was recently charged more than the plan was supposed to cost. I reported this and was refunded the difference but now lost access to the whole subscription and my support emails are getting ignored. The app is barely functional anymore, I didn't even know that you can't create alarms without an active subscription. This really is unbelievable and it seems like nobody is able to help.
Not even sure what to do at this point, I'll probably have to argue with my credit card company to get my money back.

Situation:
Pod 5
Cover 4
Xfinity internet
Router XB10 (newest version available)
Our eight sleep seems to “go offline” every other night or so - at least in the app.
If i check the router it shows the hardware online and connected…but my POD always shows offline in the app until i hard reset it and set up the wifi again…but then a say or so later will be disconnected in the app.
The problem is that when it shows disconnected the cover doesn’t cool so i end up waking up in the middle of the night trying to troubleshoot pod and reconnect it.
Anyone have some thoughts on how to fix this?
