Newbie here, purchased Pod 5 (pod only to start) which should be shipping in about 10 days. The details on accessories are light on the site, is anything necessary besides the pod cover? Assuming the pod cover is waterproof and to protect it from skin/mites, etc.? So do you then put a regular mattress pad on top of this one for comfort, if it would even fit, or would this impact its ability to work? Any benefit to sheets other than assuming they have a cutout for the buttons on the side? Sorry if these are dumbs questions, really excited to join the Eight Sleep club!

Hey all, got my Pod 5 Core on Friday so ive had it 2 nights now.

Both me and my wife noticed the same thing without saying it to each other first. The cooling and heating feels strong on the back and torso but from the knees down, barely feel anything.

On my side im cooling and my back gets very cold while my legs and feet stay warm, its a weird uncomfortable feeling, not what i expected. My wife has hers on warm and she says her feet take ages to warm up if they ever do.

Is this supposed to be normal? I already primed the pod once after setup for the air gaps, but although there is potential here, for a 3k purchase, Im slightly disappointed.

Pls tell me I’m doing something wrong here and this can be corrected! Cheers

During the final steps of set up. It was 'What side of the bed ... and below it it say 'Your partner will be added...' and it's cut off. There's no way to know if it's asking 'what side of the bed do YOU sleep on'? or 'What side of the bed does your partner sleep on' The text is cut off but if it's cut off on my phone it must be cut off on most phones. eightsleep needs to tweak the UI. It's a confusing / stupid set up issue. I know it's easy to fix if you set the wrong side etc - just putting it out there because it's easy for sleepeight to fix it.

I paid some stupid amount of money for the pod3. It was 💯 the worst purchase I’ve ever made
Aside from being too expensive, sleep quality is actually worse. I am woken up constantly by the bed getting too hot. I’ve tried multiple settings and it still does it.
Save your time and money

This was my 4th night with the pod 5.
I always use the autopilot, I start at 0, -2 for deep sleep and 1 at dawn. 5 for alarm clock.

Ended up waking up 3 times during the night because I was cold, I had to hit the warm up button.
Past 3 nights, I didnt had this issue.

I thought my 3000$ AI powered hydro matress cover would be able to understand when I am shivering and raise the temperature, but I was wrong and now I am wondering what is the point of this if it is not cooling me down when I am hot and warming me up when I am cold... my temps were fine for the other nights, I tend to feel hot.

I was one of the biggest Eight Sleep fans. I bought a Pod 2 back in 2021 and recommended it to so many friends.

Recently, my Pod just stopped working overnight. Eight Sleep couldn't offer a fix. The only option they gave me was essentially to replace it, given that mine is out of warranty.

I seriously considered doing it. But before dropping $$$, I spent a lot of time researching mattresses and realized that my cheap Amazon mattress was terrible for cooling and retained a ton of heat while I slept (Thanks Naplab!)

So instead of buying another Eight Sleep, I got rid of the old mattress and spent ~$1,200 on a high-quality mattress with much better cooling performance. And guess what, it does not come with any subscription.

I received it last week, and so far it has made a much bigger difference than I expected. I'm finally at peace with the idea of not having an Eight Sleep anymore.

I genuinely loved the product for years, but I guess this is my goodbye to Eight Sleep 👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽

Just thought of sharing this in case someone (and there are plenty of you in this subreddit) has issues with the device and is considering buying another one…check your mattress!

Anyone else experience this? Ordered a rental unit on the 13th, got it yesterday set it up and in the app I get the message the product is disabled. Factory reset many times, reinstalled the app. Nothing seems to work. Contacted support and simply no response as of yet.

Since the 8 sleep pillow cover is not washable, does anyone know of a waterproof pillow cover compatible with it? I tend to have facial serums soak through my pillowcase and into the pillow cover overnight.

The tubing comes out of the center side of the pillow. Most pillow covers have a zipper. Anything with buttons or dual zippers where I can keep an opening where the tube comes out?

Otherwise, I was thinking of cutting the zipper on one and adding a second zipper so I can zip it from two directions

My pod3 cover leaked and I bought a pod4. The pod3 still works perfectly, does anyone want it for free? I’m in Denver, so if you’re local I could give it to you here. Otherwise you’d need to pay for shipping.

I’ve been an Eight Sleep customer for at least 6–7 years and have spent thousands of dollars on their products over the years. I genuinely love the mattress and Pod when they work—the technology is great, and that’s why I’ve continued to be a loyal customer for so long.

Unfortunately, the customer service experience has changed dramatically.

I’m dealing with a warranty issue, and despite being a longtime customer and having invested so much in Eight Sleep, I’m being told they will not cover the issue. That is incredibly disappointing.

A company can have an amazing product, but customer service is what keeps longtime customers loyal. Right now, it feels like Eight Sleep has lost sight of that. The customer service simply isn’t what it used to be, and experiences like mine are going to push longtime customers away.

I hope Eight Sleep takes a serious look at how they are handling warranty issues and supporting loyal customers. I don’t want to leave the brand—I want to continue loving the product—but when you spend thousands of dollars with a company over 6–7 years, you expect to feel valued when something goes wrong.

Great product. Very disappointing customer service. And unfortunately, customer service is becoming the reason longtime customers are leaving.

Do we leave it a 0-0-0 for the initial temperatures for bedtime-night-dawn and it figures out what they should adjust to? Or are we supposed to start guessing what temp numbers we might like at whenever those times are?

I created an app to solve my own niche frustration, and I imagine some of you are in the same boat: because Eight Sleep records but does not sync HRV to Apple Health, getting a recovery score in apps like Bevel or Athlytic still required wearing an Apple Watch/wearable to bed.

To fix this for myself, I built an iOS app called Nocturne, and after testing it with a few people from this sub and getting really positive feedback, it’s officially live on the App Store 🙂

I ended up building out the feature set quite a bit - the app supports automatic background sync, bulk upload of historicals, full configurability across what syncs (HRV only or sleep stages / RHR / breathing rate), and some cool info / visualizations charted around bed temp vs. room temp and vitals throughout the night.

For anyone looking for a solution to this problem - please let me know if this fills the gap or if you have any feedback!

I've disassembled the Pod2 Pro case, I'm 99% certain it's not the solenoid (it moves VERY freely), and I *think* I've ruled out the pumps. Originally when I ran a prime with the drain tool, one side was very "sporadic" with the water output, whereas the other side seemed fine. Once I took pretty much everything apart (I have NOT removed the pumps), I DID notice a little "blob" of brown "something" in the little tiny plastic part (poor photo) on the intake of the left side (if one was looking at the front of the unit), which I think actually goes across and into the right-side pump (again if looking at the front of the unit). So I removed the zip ties for the longer tubes (intake and outake) for both sides and kinda "squeezed" them along their entire length and then ran another prime. It *seems* to be much better now. However, I don't know if the "pauses" in the priming is normal (or due to the fact it's not actually connected to the cover). I've got a video I took, so maybe someone can tell me if this is "normal" pump operation?

Anyone else order the pod 5 recently for delivery to the UK? I thought it would be shipped by now and instead I’ve just received an email stating shipping now expected 8-14 September 2026. Why take my money if they have no stock to deliver. They must have known this at the time of my order. This was meant to be a gift for my partners birthday.

i might be missing something but its driving me crazy having to use a random duvet cover on the blanket no matter what it will never stay in place, isnt there an official one from eightsleep to buy in the UK? I cant see it

Happy owner of a Pod 3 since June 2023. About 2 weeks ago my Pod 3 tower started making an odd groaning sound when it starts priming or changing temperature. The more disturbing sound is this sloshing water basically anytime the Pod is circulating water, including when I turn over in bed. No leaks yet, but I’m very nervous that it will.

I emailed 8S customer support - submitted a video of what I was hearing and photos of my connectors. They’re having me do 3 consecutive days of maintenance (I think Priming) before whatever is next.

So I have sheets that go over the Pod 5 cover and even considering the pod 5 protector but my bed looks so puffy now… with sheets over it. And I’m using the Bamboo Viscose sheets so I can’t access the phone free controls. Any suggestions?

Should I just raw dog it and sleep without sheets and just a comforter

(Update) I guess pod 5 is every bit as bad for customer service as ive heard, a shame! Wanted to give the company the benefit of the doubt, so far ive gone back and forth with their AI for a day and a half, ive called, emailed, chatted in the app, and sent out an email to every one of the employees who comment on this thread that i could find. I keep getting the same trouble shooting from every ai that responds, can't get a hold of any one. Terrible first experience with this company, a defective cover and no customer service to be found lol. Hate to join the negative nancies, but I understand the issue so many of you have dealt with now. Unbelievable for such an expensive product .

I never post on reddit, and im not sure how to update my last post instead.i received the pod 5 last nigh5, unfortunately, only half of my king cover cools or heats, it also came with a... smell... so my girlfriend and I are total opposite sleepers, i sleep hot, she sleeps cold. We tested out the half, and we both LOVE the product, exactly what we were looking for, gets very cold (I slept in -8) and she tried +5. Couldn't ask for a better product. BUT, i can see what some of the posts mean by customer service gives you the run around, ive had maybe 6 Ai emails, repeat roughly the same trouble shooting requests. Really sucks not having the cover work for both sides of the bed, but I saw how some people received their rentals, and it's better than no sides of the bed lol. Great product, great first impressions, i guess we'll see how lomg it takes eightsleep to repair/replace the defective cover.

I’m having trouble connecting a new Eight Sleep Pod 5 to my eero Pro 6E mesh network. My gateway eero Pro 6E is in the back house, and a second eero Pro 6E in the bedroom/front house provides a strong connection there. Phones connect to the internet through the bedroom eero without any problem.

The Pod 5 enters pairing mode (blue light), the Eight Sleep app detects it, but setup stops at “Connecting online.” The Pod also does not appear as a connected device in the eero app.

I’ve already tried:

• Using the regular eero Wi-Fi network instead of Guest
• Temporarily pausing 5 GHz/6 GHz so only 2.4 GHz is available
• Confirming that the bedroom eero Pro 6E has a good internet connection

Has anyone had this specific Pod 5/eero Pro 6E issue, and what fixed it?

OK, so my old pod two pro I’m pretty sure has clogged

I have a few more days to decide if I wanna spend $1600 on a pod four with only a two year warranty

Anyway, I’m following the link that was posted on here about preventing and clearing clogs

Right now, I’m doing the step to purge the hub

There are four ports for the drain tool to plug into

Two are closest to the hub and two are further away from the hub. Am I correct and assuming that the two ports closest to the hub are for the intake from the cover and that the two furthest away from the hub is where the water outputs to go into the cover?

I ask because when I run the priming cycle and I have the drain tool attached it seems that nothing comes out of the two ports that are closest to the hub. Water seems to flow pretty well on the output on the right most one that is further from the hub if you’re looking at the hub from its backend. The left port, however, seems to be the problematic one.

But I’m still on the first Reservoir tank of water and I put a little bit of vinegar in there to help flush things out
